[edit] Thanks

Thanks for all the work put into the big move. We all appreciate it greatly. Thanks! -- FireBird

I wish I could take credit for some of this stuff... But I really haven't done anything here. (Just look at the pages I have changed). I am just now starting to figure out how all of this works. :)

Thanks for visiting though.

-Stu

[edit] Oh good!

Glad to see you're back. And that you've updated your user page. — talk Bubsty edits 17:18, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
Good heavens. I make one "little" change, and everyone and their dog takes notice :) — hr.pngStu My Talk
Well, you're like the admin who's never here. Always at the forum. :P - Joshua 17:30, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
What about AgentSeethroo and FortyTwo? — talk Bubsty edits 17:34, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
I don't see them around here. Do you? ...and I don't think FortyTwo ever did much of anything on this wiki... - Joshua
I don't. According to his contribs, FortyTwo did some troll fighting in Febuary. Thats something. — talk Bubsty edits 17:36, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
Her contribs. — It's dot com
And she isn't on the admin team. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ @ 07:18, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
You're right, she's not on the Admin Team (note the caps), but she is a sysop, which is also called admin (note the lowercase). (I know, I know: tomater, dermatermorts.) — It's dot com 05:55, 24 December 2005 (UTC)
Yeah, I thought you meant admin as in sysop not admin as in admin team. — talk Bubsty edits 16:39, 24 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Sig

If you want a timestamp in your sig, you can either insert the sig with four tildes, or put five tildes one space after {{User:Stu/sig}}. The way your sig is now — with the timestamp in the template — you'll be putting the time as 5:33 on 23 December 2005, every time you enter it. Personally I like to use three tildes, an "at" symbol, and five tildes. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 07:31, 23 December 2005 (UTC)

THough I've now figured out how to get it to display the "@" with me just typing four tildes — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 23:52, 10 January 2006 (UTC)
I probably would have figured that out eventually, but you certainly saved me some time :) Thanks for the heads up! Another question (if you don't mind) Why isn't "My Talk" showing up as a link? On my sig template page, it appears to be a link, but just not when I use it on the wiki. Any ideas why that is?— hr.pngStu My Talk 16:57, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
Well, it's not showing up as a link on this page because of how the software works. If you put a link on the page it links to, it just becomes bold text. I dunno what to tell you if it's not working anywhere else. Hope that helps. --DorianGray
If you want it to show up as a link when you post it on your talk page, have it link to a page such as User talk:Stu/redirect, and have that page redirect here. That way it'll be a link here. - Joshua 17:06, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
I finally figured it out (after a short conversation with Joey) and what you guys were saying. At first I didn't understand what you meant, Dorian. I was tired when I read it. Thanks a bunch for your help though! :) — hr.pngStu My Talk 05:46, 24 December 2005 (UTC)
Yeah, I'm not the best at explaining technical stuff... As you can probably also see, I have no sig of my own... But glad you eventually got the gist of it.
*squints at it* Yeah, that is kinda incoherent. This is why I don't work with machines (I don't work at all, but that's a different issue).
Anyways, glad to help out (in whatever incoherent way I can). Keep on tranglin'. --DorianGray

[edit] Haldo

Hi there. I thought that I'd drop by to say hello and hope that you feel less stressed soon.--Image:Homsar-in-motion.gifhr.pngΨHomsarΨroksΨImage:kookysig.gifImage:Cheat-shrug-tiny.gif 17:05, 23 December 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for the hello and the concern. I am just anxious for grades to come out. There is one class remaining. Of course, it is the class in which I have no idea what my grade is going to be :) — hr.pngStu My Talk 05:25, 24 December 2005 (UTC)
Grades are in, and things worked out just fine :) Woot! — hr.pngStu My Talk 16:03, 3 January 2006 (UTC)
Triple edits aren't frowned upon here like triple posts are at the forum. ;) — It's dot com 16:13, 3 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Happy New Year!

I know it's a little late, I just wanted to wish you a happy new year, and may you figure out the "new" softwere! Elcool (talk)(contribs) 11:10, 2 January 2006 (UTC)

Thank you E.L. The "new" software is working out ok. Now if I just had a little more time :) — hr.pngStu My Talk 16:04, 3 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Welcome Back

I just want to say welcome back. We've all missed you. I am glad to see that you have returned. I hope that it will be easier soon. Happy 21:52, 6 January 2006 (EST)

[edit] Wiki Question

Stu-- I'm getting a lot of porn spam on my wiki (ecm.buzdor.org), and I noted that this wiki has gone to logged-in-user-only editing. I use MediaWiki as well (a version older), and would like to know how that's set up. Just a change to config.php? Thanks.

nbuz.gifBuz(talk)

Now what's wrong with pron spam??? :) I am not too familiar with the backend of Mediawiki. But I bet you could find an answer to your question on their website. Look in their docs, if it isn't there, check out their support pages. Sorry I can't be of more help. — hr.pngStu My Talk19:53, 17 January 2006 (UTC)
Buz, Tom is the one who implemented most of the recent security changes. Most of it was made possible by new security options in MediaWiki 1.5. I'm familiar with most of what he's done but I'm not sure I can tell you exactly how he did it. You may want to get in touch with him to find out. — wikisig.gif Joey (talk·edits) 16:59, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Salty Plum Soda

How much salty plum soda is too much?-- Benol, aka Coach B 22:55, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

Stu doesn't really go on here anymore. Seriously (Talk) 22:59, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
Well, he still might think it's a funny reference when he does show up, mightn't he, Seriously? Heimstern Läufer 23:01, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
yeah. What Heimstern said.-- Benol, aka Coach B 23:05, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
Actually, Stu is around. Seriously, please mind your business. If you don't know the proper information about the topic at hand, please refrain from replying. Thanks. -- Tom 23:06, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
It's not like I meant anything offensive. It's just that every time I'm here, he's not here. Seriously (Talk) 23:29, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
I apologize, but I don't think I was doing anything wrong by posting that message. Seriously (Talk) 23:32, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
Well, Tom has it right, and Seriously has it right too. I don't make it around here nearly often enough, but I do have my reasons. As for the question at hand, I don't think one can have too much salty plum soda (as strongbad so elegantly pointed out to me). Ok, just kidding. I am not the same Stu. I am not certain, but I believe that flash was created before I was a serious homestar fan. — hr.pngStu My Talk17:40, 22 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Greetings

From your almost-namesake. Glad to know you're around and doing well from the looks of it. --Stux 07:39, 14 January 2021 (UTC)

It's been a minute, but I am doing well. All of the 18th year Trogdor stuff prompted me to pop in and say hello. Homestar Runner was a big deal during an important time of my life. Every so often I think about how important the wiki was to the community, and I get a little emotional. I didn't really do much, but I was proud to be a part of it nonetheless.
Man, time sure flies. Trogdor is of age now! And I'm glad the wiki is still here even if there are lots of new faces. But occasionally we get and old visitor like you that pops in for a little bit. It's definitely a nice community to be part of, so I can sort of understand what you mean :). Also don't sell yourself short. From what I understand you've been an important part of the foundation of this wiki. You're still pretty legendary around these here parts! Glad to know you're doing well and keep on tranglin'! --Stux 21:28, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
