Two Scud costumes?

I wouldn't say that significant. The complete graphic novel came out during the summer, so it just might be their way of pay homage to an unknown comic.

Yes, but with two characters from the same source in the same toon? That's significant to me, and I really don't recall something like it happening before.

How green was my planet

The planet's name may or may not be "Greenguy". That is, apparently it didn't have a name when it was just a book cover, but when it became a common website image it took the name from its filename, greenguy.gif. Of course, the cartoon doesn't mention the name, so perhaps it doesn't matter anyway. ¡ɯooz + 07:36, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Strong Mad's Thwomp Actions merit mention?

Marzipan's Costume

I don't know if this should be under Remarks or Goofs, but Homestar incorrectly mentioned to Marzipan that she "keeps dressing up as dudes" when it has only happened for five Halloween toons including this one (Joey Ramone - 2001, Beaker - 2004, Willie Nelson - 2005, and Prince - 2007). I know that this is only just the majority gender and all, but do you think it should get noted on the toon's page? Rexy 17:39, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Something doesn't add up...

It's starting to be a running gag thing where, in the teaser, Strong Bad has an awesome costume and turns out to have one nothing like it in the real toon. But, in Jibblies 2, someone (I think it was Strong Sad) pointed this out in the toon at the end. That didn't happen this time. That doesn't make sense to me... Superfield CreditUnion

Hmm. In Happy Hallow-Day, Homestar starts the toon in "not his real costume" and in Jibblies 2 Strong Bad had a differently-shaped costume in the prior teaser toon. I don't think it's happened either way before, not that I recall anyway. I think you're presuming they're the same gag, when they really aren't, i don't think. Well, again, in Happy Hallow-Day and Jibblies 2, someone points out the different costume thing. Homestar announces that it isn't his Halloween costume and Coach Z (not Strong Sad, like I earlier thought) mentions that he thought Strong Bad was going to be the alien, referring to the trailer. However, this time, there's not even a hint as to the switch. It just feels like there's something missing there; it's not like TBC to just leave it without an explanation/referral. Sheep's Revenge

I actually wondered the same thing when I first saw the toon, but I think it can only be considered speculation on our part, as the KOT vaguely mentions its origins as an experiment. If there was no explanation in the toon, I'd probably be more inclined to think that there's a connection with the King of Town DVD. NoMayonnaise

Backyardiganz

Although, the Gravediggaz(?) rap group, seems more appropriate, as it was a Coach Z scene, I actually think that (as someone already said) it was also a Backyardigans refference, I have left the rap group thing in, because I agree with it aswell, It is not impossible to refference 2 things at once.

1. Backyardigans sounds like Graveyeardiganz more than Gravediggaz or whatever) does.

2. Backyardigans is a music based series.

3. There has already been a Yo Gabba Gabba refference in this episode, proving that TBC are (thankfully) not afraid to refference shows primarilly aimed at children. (I actually watch Backyardigans from time to time - not too keen on YGG though) Also note that both shows are on Nick Jr. MJN SEIFER 21:03, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Probably not. I think even if you'd never seen or eaten them before you'd be able to tell what they are from the context. Say it! Say it!

The article mentions that Strong Sad's comments in the Strong Bad easter egg are typical of Sam Kennison's stand-up act. While this is true, it seems to me that it's a direct reference to his scene in the movie "Back to School." The "Say it! Say it!" line is a direct quote from the movie.

Real-World References

Space Mountain, Mr. Toad's, Tom Sawyer's Island, and Carousel of Progress are all attractions at Disney theme parks, specifically the Magic Kingdom and Disneyland. However, neither park currently contains all four attractions since Disneyland's Carousel of Progress closed in 1973 and Disney World's Mr. Toad closed in 1998. Disney World's Carousel of Progress includes a Halloween scene. The Goofy lot refers to the parks' parking lots being named after Disney characters.

Homestar Runner argues with himself about his costume, mistakenly suggesting it to be of Carrot Top, a stand-up comedian noted for his use of props, his large orange hair, and being a former spokesperson for AT&T during their "Dial Down the Center" campaign. He then mistakenly "corrects" himself to actually be Crocodile Dundee, the titular character from the 1986 comedy movie. Crocodile Dundee was played by Paul Hogan who, like Yahoo Serious, is Australian.

Questionable fact

Strong Bad's line "Is there some secret period in history when hobos ruled the Earth that I'm unaware of?" could possibly refer to John Hodgman's book "The Areas of My Expertise", which features a non-factual factual account of such an era as a major section of the book.

As an owner of the book, I can say that there is a tale of when Hobos took control of some of the US Federal Government. This seems a more likely reference as Mr. Hodgman has gained more notoriety lately due to his PC commercials, his appearances on The Daily Show. He even has a new book out! Hobo Matters make up about 1/3 the book, so it's more than just a passing reference. I'd say it's worth consideration. - Flashfight, who needs to log in.

Price 100 grand

If the goblin really did turn Homestar's 100 grand candy bars into gold, with the price of gold at 724 US dollars an ounce (as of November 1st), and one "fun size" 100 grand candy is about 1.5 ounces, it would take about 92.2 candy bars for Homestar and Pom Pom to get $100,000 from those.

Does this deserve a place?

Well, I'm trying really hard to write a long dissertation here, but this is not fun, will be incorrect on a daily basis (on a continual basis during trading hours) and more importantly is missing a key number, that is the number of candy bars. Using $100,000 to figure out the number of candy bars is foolish. Without the number of candy bars, your work (as laudable as it is) simply has no place in the article.
