cheat talk

i know that it has been decided to not try to 'translate' the cheat talk for the transcript. however, i believe the top of the discussion page could be reserved for such speculative things as this, as well as narrowly outvoted or slightly dodgy STUFFs'es. cause it really sounds to me that the cheat says "yeah man" or "yes sir" when strong bad tells him to go win a car. also, sry for bumping the top topic, move this if you want, but i thought it was important. csours 03:45, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

Gags Galore

Wow... This is, like... A cornucopia of running gags. How many pages are we gonna have to update? --DorianGray

Let's see... BMW Lighter, Kicking The Cheat, "How do you type with Boxing Gloves On?", Strong Bad hurting Strong Sad, Gavin, DELETED, the goofy book based on the author's name/city... Any others? -YK 01:39, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
Whatsit made an appearance, as did post-it notes... --DorianGray
Don't a-forget, a-Holy Crap! -YK 01:40, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
Yay, for Gavin! Hey, the lights in the top of the celing...weren't they mentioned in other days? - KookykmanImage:kookysig.gif(t)(c)(r)
Don't forget the Floppy Disk Container. No matter, I'm on it. (id tag of Floppy Disk Container#codename iceman is set up for whenever somebody wants to link it via Fun Facts) Thunderbird 01:47, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
Bev Sportsinterviews, The Cheat's Keyboard, Strong Bad has a green tongue, one of the SBs looks like Super Brave!! style... I was just going to say the same thing. Don't you all love the cornucopia-reference types? —BazookaJoe 01:49, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
I'm surprised there was no reference to pie in this e-mail. It's been referenced in, what... the last four e-mails? -YK 01:57, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
We can use this as a checklist, if necessary. Once you've added pop-up to the gag's page, you can check it off here, yeah? --DorianGray
I added the BMW Lighter sighting to its page. How do I check it off? -YK 02:03, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
Also, the end of SS's nagging. Also, the first SB has Sharpie abs. - KookykmanImage:kookysig.gif(t)(c)(r)
should cold ones be added? or is that ubiquitous? csours 04:02, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

Whatsit added. -YK 02:20, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
Meh, I think the checklist is doubling our efforts. We'll get 'em all without it. —BazookaJoe 02:20, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
Done! For now. - KookykmanImage:kookysig.gif(t)(c)(r)\
That was easy. =P -YK 02:27, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
Mmmm, there's some gags that have been done that are not on that list, and there may be some gags not on that list that haven't been done. Who knows? —BazookaJoe 02:35, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

Don't forget Cold Ones. I link it on the Cold Ones page, but not on pop-up's page. SaltyTalk! 03:59, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

Name

Hey, I decided to move this page to pop-up book (with a description) before everyone and their brother decided to edit it, but Bazooka Joe moved it back without any edit desc. So, pop-up, or pop-up book? - KookykmanImage:kookysig.gif(t)(c)(r)

"pop-up" is the official name on the email menu. — Kilroy / talk 02:04, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
Uh, no it's not. It's not even on the email menu yet. - KookykmanImage:kookysig.gif(t)(c)(r)
Yes it is. Try clearing your cache, Kookykman. — Kilroy / talk 02:07, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
Hm...multiple cache clearings, and it's not showing up for me. o_0 - KookykmanImage:kookysig.gif(t)(c)(r)
That's weird ... it is showing up for me, and on the first try, too. Spell4yr 02:10, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
EDIT: Forget it. This Firefox cache works in strange ways. =P - KookykmanImage:kookysig.gif(t)(c)(r)

It's there for me as pop-up. SaltyTalk! 04:00, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

Spooky sound effect

I've tried a couple times to remove a fact about a "spooky sound effect" coming from myths & legends; each time it's either been added back or I've been reverted. I assume the effect we're talking about is the one that sounds after Strong Bad says the fridge is a source of unspeakable power; if so, that sound also occurs in bottom 10 and possibly other places. Therefore, I'll remove this item from the page unless someone has a reason why my info is wrong. Heimstern Läufer 02:42, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

I don't remember it in bottom 10 offhand. Will check when I put my dinner in the oven. --Jay (Talk) 02:45, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
Edit conflict: Well I'm not sure sure how the best way to resolve this is, because if what you say is true, then the bottom 10 noise is the same as the myths & legends noise (which if my memory serves me right was "noted" to be in the same scale as the Geddup Noise or something strange like that). It should be somewhere in the Sound Effects page for sure. --Stux 02:47, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
It is not the same sound as in bottom 10. --Jay (Talk) 02:48, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
Second that. You are thinking of the sound that occurs when strong bad sees the 'creepy painting'; it's lower and has a constant pitch, rather than the myths & legends sound effect, which starts at a higher note and goes to a lower note. It's the only appearance of that sound, so I think the reference should stand. By the way, is that sound anything else when sped up? Eman
Are the two sounds really that different? Yes, one has an additional note, but surely that doesn't make it a completely different sound effect. Oh, and I have absolute pitch and can tell you that the one in bottom 10 most certainly does is not a lower pitch. They are both a C. Anyway, it's not a huge deal, but I really think this is the sort of thing that should only be noted on the Sound Effects page. Anyone else agree? Heimstern Läufer 03:29, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

Frozen!

Help! The email stops when turning the page after the "almost naked angels"! Some of the words on the Tandy are visible. What should I do?!?

  • what version of flash are you using, what is your computer speed, what os and browser are you using, what kind of connection are you one? i hate it when people ask vague questions like this... not that i hate the people, just the questions... csours 04:02, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

Senor Who?

Who is that Senor Woodweno on the kick The Cheat Page of the pop-up book? Have we seen him before? I've searched the wiki, but nothing else on him came up. Homsarhair (talk · edits) 03:20, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

Never been named before, but he's in an Easter egg in lackey. --Jay (Talk) 03:22, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
Ah! That's where he's from. That's been bugging me for the past 20 minutes, I thought he was on a board game or something. Thanks! Thunderbird 03:26, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
Heck, I wouldn't have known it if it wasn't already on the article. --Jay (Talk) 03:28, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
Does he need his own character page now, or is there not enough information. I'm new, and not sure. Homsarhair (talk · edits) 03:30, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
We don't even know the proper spelling of his name, actually. "Woodweno" was my best guess. I don't think he's yet deserving of a page, personally, but others may disagree. --Jay (Talk) 03:35, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
If he does need a page, I'd be happy to try and create it. I've never created a page before and I would like to try.Homsarhair (talk · edits) 03:39, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
"Muy bueno", perhaps? --Tuquee 03:53, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
I was just about to suggest that myself... --DorianGray

I was positive is was Muy Bueno. That whole page is rather Mexican. SaltyTalk! 04:04, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

It makes sense, but I'm not exactly hearing "Muy Bueno" (cue everyone and their brother insisting that it's "Muy Bueno" now... though I have no attachment to "Woodweno" at all.) --Jay (Talk) 04:05, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
I think I saw him in an DVD bonus thing, I think it was the sketchbook? Yeah, because they were talking about barely Strong Bad's. Can anyone check if this is true? I would, but I'm going to bed. DBK! 05:02, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
Going to bed? At 9:00?! (I love Pacific time!!!) Anyway, no such character is seen in the Sketchbook video. It's already been stated that he appeared in lackey. --Jay (Talk) 05:20, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

beer labels

what are all of the labels on the beer bottle:

  • cold one
  • not a cold one
  • ?

csours 03:41, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

  1. Cold One
  2. Not So Cold One
  3. Warm One
  4. Room Temp-A-Ture One
All from property of ones. --Jay (Talk) 03:49, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

seat flap

am i completely off base here, or does anyone else remember pajamas that have a flap in the back to use when going in an outhouse? csours 04:06, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

It's not that we think the object in question doesn't exist, it's that we think it has no connection to the "crap flap" in this email. --Jay (Talk) 04:17, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

Whatsit?

This isn't the first time they've used "crap" to refer to "whatsit", is it? When have they done that before?? Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 05:14, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

Why don't you check out this page for the answer? --DorianGray
And the answer is no, anyway. --Jay (Talk) 06:35, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

Negative Zero?

it seems to me that the negative zero is not a refrence to stinkoman but to the idea of the temperature being below zero, or that there's no such thing as positive or negative when it comes to zero.

I don't really get what you're saying. There was a "Level -0" in Stinkoman, and, as you say, there's not such a thing as a negative zero. I think it's a valid reference. --Jay (Talk) 05:48, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

Also, there is a brand of refrigerators called subzero that is extremely popular with yuppies and other similar people who spend way too much on their houses.

car no longer true?

Since The Cheat did end up winning Strong Bad a car, would that mean that car is now, for the most part, no longer correct? Or is this just more proof that any idea I have after about midnight is most likely wrong and best left unmentioned? (I'm referring to a few from around Christmas break.) — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 06:26, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

Who knows if it was a car key? It didn't specifically say, did it? --DorianGray
Well, Strong Bad did tell Teh C. to win him a car... Heimstern Läufer 06:33, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
It's true that he would have a car now, but it was still true when car came out. --Jay (Talk) 06:33, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
The whole question of cars in Free Country is a bit ambiguous to say the least. We've seen Strong Bad in the Gremin in Dangeresque (A gremlin which was seemingly originally made up by Bubs I might add), yet Strong Bad says he doesn't own a car. I think the whole question of cars in Free Country USA is yet to be fully answered. If there was a simple answer, Bubs owned the Gremlin, incorperated it into his Halloween tale, loaned it to Strong Bad while making his movie, and ultimately lost it to his lackey today in a high stakes game of dominoes. The Magic Eye image

Google finds a couple of matching images if you search for "Magic Eye Saturn", however the one at this blog is the only one that is the same resolution as the one I pulled from the swf. I downloaded it, and it is bit-for-bit identical to the one in the toon - thus either TBC got it from this site, or they both got it (indirectly) from the same location elsewhere (from a site either not listed on Google Images or that doesn't call it "Saturn"). If it's the former, it begs the question: What were TBC doing on an alien conspiracy site? --phlip TC 06:34, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

Searching for "Stereogram Saturn" finds this also, but though it's the same resolution, it's not bit-for-bit the same. So while it's the same picture, TBC didn't get it from here. --phlip TC 06:38, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
Found a third version, on the official Magic Eye site, still not the same image that TBC used, but it tells me what book all three of these were scanned from, which is what I embarked on this to discover. --phlip TC 06:47, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

Charibs

Charibs seem to be the thing this week for internet culture. Penny arcade have a couple flying babies in relatively the same position. XD

Don't you love it when there are set trends on the internet XDSargeAbernathy 08:56, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
