In the Homestar Runner universe, the pet of choice is dogs. However, they are not treated the best, as they are eaten, maimed, or even killed.

- Pom Pom, Too — Pom Pom's dog, Trivia Time, is mentioned.
- Homestarloween Party — During Marzipan's part of the story, one of Pom Pom's Girls has a pet dog.
- Email credit card — One of the things on "The Coolest Stuff Ever.com" is a robotic dog/shark.
- 20X6 vs. 1936 — The Homestar Runner mentions his dog that had "worshed" away in the storm of '28.
- Marzipan's Character Video — Marzipan says she likes baby animals, like cats and dogs, but hates to see them in the same room together.
- Email no loafing — Strong Bad puts a "hush puppy" up on the wall.
- Email army — Homestar Runner asks the Homestarmy if they're tired of "playing second-fiddle to a two bit wrestleman and his yellow dog".
- Email crying — Strong Bad shows everyone his picture of "Li'l Brudder", a one-legged puppy.
- Peasant's Quest — If you type "look painting" in the inn, the game will say "It's a painting of dogs playing 'Magic: The Nerdening.'"
- Duck Guardian One — Some robot dogs appear during the game.
- Email pizzaz — The Dogfood Gangsta variation of Strong Bad appears in an Easter egg.
- Email animal — The Homestar lure says "Right this way, everyone! Free puppies, ginger snaps, pocket PCs."
- The Li'l Brudder Show — A cartoon focusing on Li'l Brudder.
- Senorial Day — Senor Cardgage calls the Wagon Fulla Pancakes "this little dog".
- A Folky Tale — Saddy Dumpington tells the mayor that "Sometimes dogs get so hungry, they eat their own tails."
- Email space program — The slide that says "How Come?" has a picture of a sad dog which appears to be a basset hound.
- Email myths & legends — When Homestar Runner apparently saw the "Bear holding a Shark", he was walking his "dog", Pom Pom.
- Why Come Only One Girl? — The sad dog from "space program" reappears.
- Happy Hallow-day — Homestar tries to get Halloween night back by calling it like a puppy.
- Strong Badia the Free — Li'l Brudder is on Homestar's draft wheel.
- Haunted Photo Booth — Coach Z dresses up as PaRappa the Rapper, and Homestar expresses disappointment that he's dressed up as a dog.
- Mr. Poofers Must Die — Mr. Poofers is a cloud-like dog and the main character of Homestar's "top-notch four-and-a-half-stars-with-over-six-hundred-reviews-quality" ghost story.
