"Sysop water cooler" is really only intended to be a temprorary name. It just doesn't say Homestar Runner to me. I'm thinking of something more along the lines of "The Stick", but that name's already taken for our community portal. Anybody have any good ideas? —

(Can't beleive i'm posting here...) Should Da Basement redirect here? It's a main namespace page and it should redir to Strong Bad's Basement instead I think. --Stux 01:29, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

- "Da Basement" does already link here. I'd also like to point out, on the same tack, that "Sandbox" and "sandbox" automatically go to HRWiki:Sandbox, and "WikiTroll" goes to HRWiki:WikiTroll. It's easier for those who don't want to write out the HRWiki part every time (like me). --DorianGray

- I can also go further and say that we should think about shortening the shortcuts for those too lazy (this includes me sometimes) to type out HRWIKI:. Just like Wikipedia: shortcuts are WP:. - I'm going to chime in as another non-sysop saying that Da Basement should redirect to Strong Bad's Basement. The idea that a confused newcomer could accidentally wind up on the page for the most... um, everything the opposite, is kinda weird. (Also, come to think of it, mightn't a disambig at the top of The Stick be nice? There's that big blue link in the sidebar; say someone came to the Wiki for the first time, and was looking specifically for info on The Stick? She'd probably click it, then wonder how to get to the real page (especially if she wasn't familiar with the concept of namespace). —AbdiViklas 03:10, 8 February 2006 (UTC)
- I've added a disambig to the Stick page as Abdi suggested. As for short namespace abbreviations (for lazy ppl like me) I personally like HRW: and WP: myself. Though my guess would be the best way to implement that would be to make WP: be a standard external link thingy, and HRW: just serve as a namespace for redirects, such as HRW:Da Basement. [edit] Redirect Update
For some reason some of the stuff discussed in this thread was never implemented. As a result I have done the following:
- Fix the redirect from Da Basement so that it points to the Main Namespace article. (And added DaBasement too since I find myself typing that often).
- Created the following HRW: shortcut redirects:
