[edit] Source of plot!!!

Nintendo Power: Issue 234: "...when Strong Bad's beloved game console- the Videlectrix Fun Machine- melts down when he's playing Limozeen's Hot Babelien Odyssey (a side-scrolling action game...). When Strong Bad discovers he doesn't have the money to get it repaired, he does the only sensible thing: he arranges a 'battle of the bands'..."

[edit] Forum Link

How do you fix the link to the Telltale forum? BBG 01:22, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Date

10/13

According to whom? I can't find any info on this from Telltale or H*R.com. The date sounds highly reasonable, but we need a reliable source before we'll add it to the article. Heimstern Läufer 01:48, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
Due to the fact that the date right now is the 22nd, there is only one monday left in october. Some people might say this doesn't prove anything, but nintendo only updates the wii shop channel on mondays, and it's less likely to see two SBCG4AP's in november, so that is the official date. 204.191.74.245 03:00, 23 October 2008 (UTC) P.S. I'm Don't say jorb 101 but I'm not logged in.
Not quite, no. We still can't be sure it won't be delayed until November. Certainly, it seems likely it will be this upcoming Monday, but we won't document that until it comes from a reliable source. Heimstern Läufer 03:10, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit] LEAKED Gameplay!

See http://gamespotting.net/gameblog/sbcg4ap-baddest-of-the-bands-leaked-gameplay-footage/

I'm not sure that's really leaked exactly. IGN has a video that's almost identical to it (not quite, though. There are some extra scenes, and it doesn't go all the way through the billy club dialogue.) --Jay (Gobble) 03:23, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Homsar ?

i watched the trailer and the GF for this episode and Homsar is not in it but it says he is here.

Go to IGN and check the videos there. --Jay (Gobble) 21:46, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
PS. Those same videos, and the new one on Telltale's site, show I was wrong about SB being a member of Cool Tapes (when I removed a contrary mention of Cool Tapes from the page earlier), but the preview certainly made it look that way. --Jay (Gobble) 21:48, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Spoilers of Extended Play

I found a video on youtube that showed major spoilers on the Episode, includes clothes, the Limozeen game, and some other gameplay about the band. It's a very spoilery video so be warned. --User:splashUru1 12:08 25 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Linked pages

Let's add some of the pages we'll need here so we have convenient (red)links. These are the only ones I know of so far:

Note that I have NOT seen any evidence that the Teen Girl Squad is in this one. I didn't even notice a score for them on the scorecard. I'm not finished with the game yet (I only played for like an hour before work), though, so there could be more locations, or other pages that could come in handy. --Jay (Gobble) 19:02, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Possible refrence to episode 1

In episode 1's opening song some of the lyrics are "like a imploding star , like a burning car" maybe a reffrence to "The Best Album Cover Ever".

I dare say that the only possible way it's not a reference is if they planned it in advance and put it into Episode 1 for exactly that reason, which would be kind of a reverse referense or something. It's already on the Homestar Ruiner page for that very reason. --Jay (Gobble) 23:34, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Glitched Pac-Man

The way Strong Bad's game gets messed up reminds me of the way that one level on Pac-Man gets glitched up. Since I am not good at explaining it, here is an image. Homestar-Winner (talk) 01:01, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

  • Except for the Fun Machine, the failure is distinctly different in method, as here it's supposed to be a failure of logic components within the device, rather than pure software error.
I, for one, think it's at least a reference to that glitch screen, as it's fairly well-known within the gaming community, especially among retro gaming aficionados (which the Bros. Chaps certainly are). It doesn't have to be a reference to the method involved itself. I mean, when I saw the HBO glitch screen, the first thing that went through my mind was "Haha, Pac-Man glitch screen reference! Awesome!" I think it's easily recognizeable to anyone who's done their history of gaming homework. Or at least their Pac-Man homework. Anyway, just my two cents. Lucentas 01:49, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
To me, it simply appeared to be a reference to console glitches that were common on the NES when game carts had poor contact with the console, usually corrected by powering the console off and on, removing and reseating the cart, or blowing onto the cart connectors or into the console itself. (Thus, SB's remark that he'd emptied three cans of 4W DD into the slot that morning.) A Pac-Man-type glitch would be a sure reference if it happened as a game was beaten or extremely high score attained. -ReverendTed 20:28, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Nonexistant Homestar Glitch

It seems that if you attempt to "examine" the turntable in Club Technocholate in Extended Play, Homestar will say something without actually being there.

Seconded, how many people need to see that before we put it in? I'm thinking two.
We can make it three, with me, but the other two didn't sign their posts! When it happened to me, I only saw it the first time I examined the turntable. Each subsequent time, I got the "hasn't been used in weeks" remark. -ReverendTed 01:30, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
On a similar vein, you get the same sequence any time you look at the turntable between Homestar winning his audition, and the contest actually starting. However, Homestar is shown next to the bar, where he starts the game, when at this point he's standing next to Pom Pom. --Belthazar 20:06, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Wire to No-Wire

Something just occurred to me. You need the wire hanger to complete a puzzle. The puzzle is during the Battle Royale, but AFAIK, you can only get the wire from the Locker Room, which is inaccessible during the Battle Royale. What happens if you skip taking the wire? (Note that you can't skip getting the bleach, which is obtained in the same place and also mandatory during the Battle Royale - you need to use it earlier than that.) --Jay (Gobble) 21:12, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

Y'know, I was wondering the same thing. This requires checking, but my theory for now is that it'd automatically give it to you. It does, after all, alter your inventory between the pre-Royale and Royale scenes. --DorianGray 21:16, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
I just tested it. Turns out that the Track remains on the map until you take the hanger, even after everything else disappears. --Jay (Gobble) 03:59, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
Really? I did exactly the same thing but the Track wasn't on the map. This is with the PC version if anyone's wondering. Rexy 21:30, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
I'm on PC. The Track remained on the map until I took the hangar. -ReverendTed 03:53, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Zeppelin reference

The teen girl (I forget which one) says "it's always the saaaame!" after she gets killed by "uncommunication breakdown"...somebody who's not me should write that in. 75.69.165.163 18:45, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Baddest of the Articles

I think we should have a Baddest of the Bands Bands article, or something in that vein. You know, like with Countries in Strong Badia the Free. Strongkinghomsarsmith 23:22, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

Be bold and have fun! --TheYellowDart(t/c) 04:12, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Cheatday?

I just noticed that I have SBCG4AP Chapter 3, and I just watched cheatday. Well, cheatday has the Two-o Duo (as an easter egg)! So, anyway, should that be a remark, inside reference, etc., or is this just one of those things that don't go in the trivia spot? --Atarifanatic 00:28, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

see here. — Defender1031*Talk 00:30, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
And as I pointed out on that page, here. --Jay (Gobble) 01:29, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit] eat bat head

Hay does the fact that king of town eats a bat head reffer to ozzy osborne? Ozzy ate a bat head tooo.

I think that's a pretty clear reference, yes. --DorianGray 02:23, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
I bet some of us never heard of the event
And that's why we should definitely mention it on the page, if you can find an appropriate Wikipedia link. --DorianGray 02:50, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
Done and did. -ReverendTed 23:07, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
Regarding the spelling of the bat's name, "Pazquel" is invariably used by the subtitles. Mind you, they also use "Pom-Pom" and "Two-O Duo". --Belthazar 02:27, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I'd just changed that after I noticed it was spelled Pazquel on the Telltale Walkthrough page for BotB. -ReverendTed 02:32, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Misreading PomStar

Is it worth mentioning that PomStar is easily misread as...something else...in some fonts because of the similarity of rn to m? After I accidentally misread it the first time it seemed like an obvious joke to me. -ReverendTed 23:09, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

Unlikely. Welcome to the family wiki. Please say no more. — Defender1031*Talk 23:14, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Manual Pages Glitch

It's been suggested that the Wii version allows you to obtain all of the manual pages by using the Wigglie record repeatedly in Extended Play. I can verify that this glitch is not present on the PC version. Can anyone verify that it does work on the Wii, and whether it will award unobtained manual pages until the player has them all? -ReverendTed 21:20, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Rube Goldberg Remark

I submit that the "Rube Goldberg" Remark is inaccurate because a Rube Goldberg Machine is (as the Wikipedia link itself states) a "deliberately overengineered apparatus". The actions on the stage were not deliberately engineered to be convoluted - they are merely a result of circumstance, and they're not really a unified "apparatus" either. Typically, Rube Goldberg machines are initiated and perform the rest of their convoluted actions autonomously. Strong Bad's actions are distinct in solving individual problems associated with exposing the prop. If we're going to justify "deliberately overengineered" as being by the game's developers, then the whole of Episode 3 qualifies as a Rube Goldberg machine for playing L:HBO. (Even so, I still wouldn't consider it to be a unified apparatus.) To take a different tack on the argument: Rube Goldberg machines can usually be described as "once started, this happens to that which causes this which causes that which causes etc..." The sequence of events on stage is a series of distinct problems with independent solutions. -ReverendTed 01:27, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

I agree and removed it. --Jay (Gobble) 01:38, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Strongest of the bads

The email lady...ing has Strong bads name as "Baddest of the Bads" So i hope the rest is self explanatory.--Mariofan1000 17:45, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

No, it's "Strongest of the Bads" in lady...ing. --Jay (Gobble) 20:38, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

...Anyway,i hope you get the point.I think the title could be a refrence.--Mariofan1000 21:28, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Spy Car

In the next episode, the gremlin (aka Dange-car-esque) DOES have a smokescreen and missiles. 173.32.221.240 06:41, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Pucca

I find a real world reference of pucca: The dance perfomance by Coach Z when Bubs plays Roll With The Punches is similar to the punches gived of Tobe on Garu in Tobe's dream on the Pucca Episode: Dream On Lucsar 20:03, 27 September 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Coach Z Misplacement Glitch

...that was the only short description I could think of. So, while playing this game on the Wii (man, it's already been a year since the series ended?), I was at the Two-O-Duo concert and while fiddling with the records, caused Coach Z to remain on the right side of the stage and this happens. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZD6Hncz3wQs It came about in... oh, gaddfern it, why didn't I mark down what order I had the records in? I know that I hadn't added any of Strong Sad's records, and that I skipped each dancing scene as it started. And um... I was trying to get Coach Z to dance off the stage. That, or I was trying to get him to stay on the right side and then dance off the right (not realizing that he would just dance back to the left). ...and just for the record, this is from the point of view of the crowd, not Coach Z.

Too longwinded?--Topmonhit 05:13, 26 December 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Bub's Security whatever bot

Does the security robot have an article? If not is it worthy enough to have an article? If so I'M MAKING IT!!!

...and shouldn't it be on the cast? ...maybe... Nihaho13 02:22, 3 January 2010 (UTC)

Anyone know where to find a pic of the robot? Nihaho13 22:52, 24 January 2010 (UTC)

[edit] Half-Ply

Now I know I seriously overthought this, but you could take half of the horizontal out of a one-layer paper by leaving gaps. Perhaps in some sort of paper weave technique leaving parts out.

[edit] Toilet Goof?

In goofs it says that "When trying to pour bleach down the toilet, Strong Bad's dialogue and subtitles are completely different." However, the responses page for BOTB (House of Strong) does not have Bleach → Toilet nor does any other response page if it is supposed to be somewhere else. --Happypasta 18:58, 2 October 2012 (UTC)

And now it's there. Though you could have added it yourself if you have BotB. --Jay (Gobble) 23:24, 2 October 2012 (UTC)

[edit] help?

For some reason, I can't find Strong Sad's records, even after following all the rules! is there a glitch or something? TMBGLOVER 21:41, 7 November 2022 (UTC)

I really can't figure this out. TMBGLOVER 21:48, 8 November 2022 (UTC)
Look here, at about 1 hour 40 minutes in. If that's not in your version of the game, and you're far enough into the game that the bands are playing, I dunno what to tell you. They're in plain sight, honestly. --Jay (Gobble) 03:50, 9 November 2022 (UTC)
OH. I was looking in Strong Sad’s room. Sorry! TMBGLOVER 16:08, 9 November 2022 (UTC)
