This needs more songs. And it also, will need to be in a table.--H*Bad 06:43, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Merging from Homestar Singing

[edit] What about the other characters?

If Homestar gets one, then may we as well make a Songs by character page to relate to the Songs page, like the different ways we orginize Strong Bad Emails. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 19:53, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

I think this is a good idea. If you think about it enough, we've had several main characters sing. — Lapper (talk) 20:01, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
I agree with this idea, too. — Image:kskunk_fstandby.gif KieferSkunk (talk) — 20:41, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
Could go two ways - create a Songs by Character page that branches here in lieu of the Homestar section, or fold this up into Songs by Character. I'd vote for the former, due to a preference for more short pages than fewer long ones. - Totoro 20:57, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Creation

Please note E.L. Cool's remark on Talk:isp.

That was already suggested and declined. We have a full page for all the songs on Songs. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 08:39, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

Referring to this discussion:

What is with Homestarrunner and singing. It seems like every time he hears a song he sings it and he also likes to sing about bread. What do you think. These sightings contain: origins when he has his bread sing alongs, monument in the easter egg where he sings the thnikkaman song, bottom ten with the buttdance song, and The House That Gave Sucky Treats. He seems to sing a lot and I am sure that there are more singing sightings. Sbdisciples (Talk | contribs) (left unsigned)
Hmm, this might be something good to be put on Homestar Runner's page... I'm not sure if it's a running gag or simply a character trait... --phlip TC 14:08, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
Don't worry. All these songs (and more!) are listed on Songs. – The Chort 14:09, 8 April 2006 (UTC)

I think that this article needed a bit more approval before being created than what it has right now. — Lapper (talk) 19:59, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

The original discussion that led to this page was not about Homestar simply singing, but about instances in which he's sung to provide sound effects that he's pretending are real. As such, only three count: Night Court, the siren in Strong Bad is in Jail, and the hold music. If this page continues to exist, those need to be the only three on it. Alternately, they could be covered in a single sentence on his character page. —AbdiViklas 17:12, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

Personally, I think the original discussion was too limited to begin with. Homestar sings a lot, and so do Strong Bad and Marzipan. Most of Strong Bad's singing happens in his emails, and Marzipan's singing is already well-documented, but Homestar doesn't really have anything documenting when, where and why he sings. I think having an article that discusses this relatively common behavior for Homestar is appropriate and good. — Image:kskunk_fstandby.gif KieferSkunk (talk) — 20:19, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
Homestar definetly deserves his own page. --Mario2.PNG Super Martyo boing! 04:07, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ordering Logic

Just so all ya'lls know (Qermaq in particular), the ordering logic being applied here is as follows:

-If a song is sung by only one character, put it in their section.
-If it is sung by more than one, put it in both of their sections (unless the other one doesn't have a section, then just put something like, "Homsar later sings it." I admit that I didn't follow this rule completely and some songs need to be moved.
-If a song is sung by most or all of the main characters, put it in the Everyone section.
-If it is sung by an unkown singer (such as Poot Slap) or a very minor character, put it in the Others section.
-If it is sung by any character from Teen Girl Squad, put it in the TGS section.
-And finally, if the song is on Strong Bad Sings and Other Type Hits (but also somewhere else), just put an asterisk on it and see the bottom of the page. If it is only on SBSAOTH, just link to that page and forget the asterisk. I believe I took care of all of these, so nobody really has to worry about this rule.

Thank you and good day. -Brightstar Shiner 14:34, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

The "Others" category gives me pause. Should we list the "others" who sing, especially if it isn't a major character deserving of a category of his/her own? I'm thinking of Crack Stuntman, who sings the Important Rap Song, who I made a category for just so his attribution isn't lost under the generic "others" setup. Ideas? [edit] Strong Sad?

I don't get it. Strong Sad sung that Ghost of John song. Shouldn't that be on the list too?

Well, something needs to change. The first sentence on the page says it's when characters sing their own songs, but "I'm The Best Around" is listed for Homestar, and he clearly didn't write that. So either the Ghost of John song should be added (which is a traditional song, by the way), or "I'm The Best Around" should really really really be taken down, I'm the best... around... something and a something... *trails off* -- ■■   PURPLE  WRENCH   ■■ 19:16, 5 April 2015 (UTC)
