[edit] Some links to help get you started

Here are some resources to help familiarize yourself with the Homestar Runner Wiki:

  • Before you do any significant editing, be sure to read our wiki standards and our other policies.
  • If you need general information, editing tips, or answers to frequently asked questions, check out the various help pages.
  • To practice editing, head over to the sandbox.
  • If you have a question that isn't addressed on a help page, you can ask it on the FAQ talk page.

To get plugged in to the community:

  • Let us know a little bit about yourself on your user page. (Please see the rules and guidelines for your user space first.)
  • If you're not sure what you can do to help out, head over to The Stick.
  • If you're looking for more community interaction, you can also register over at our forum, or if you're feeling creative, you can register separately at the fanstuff wiki.
  • If you see an update on homestarrunner.com that isn't listed on the Main Page, put it up here.
  • To sign and timestamp a post on a talk page, type four tildes (~~~~).
  • Above all, be sure to be bold and have fun!
The information above is provided as a service upon registration. Once you have checked out all the links, please feel free to delete it.

[edit] Quotes, and Template and Pages, Oh My!

Hello Homsarfan (BTW, I love Homsar). Just telling you something: Template:I'm not gonna lie to you, that's a healthy piece of real estate! has 3 things wrong with it.

  • 1 — This is just a quote, we don't need pages about quotes.
  • 2 — Pages are like these (even though we don't have quote pages) need to be proper pages, and are not templates.
  • 3 — I see your new here, and you have probably not read the inclusion guidelines. Please read it. It will tell you everything about creating pages.

Have a great wiki experience! And ask me a question here. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 22:36, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] User space edits

Hey, I know this edit was well intentioned, but from HRWiki's User space guidelines:
If at all possible, avoid editing another's user page [...] a talk page notice is preferred in most cases. Casual editing of another's user page is strongly discouraged and in most cases may be reverted.

Just so you know ;-)  Green Helmet 01:13, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

[edit] We Got the same username

hey you and i got the same username so i was wondering what we should do about it ?

If it's the same password, then you're the same user. You may have signed up and forgotten, but this IS your page. Think about it. It's unlikely that someone with the EXACT same user name would pick the EXACT same password also. It just wouldn't happen. That being said, feel free to LOG IN FIRST and then do whatever you want with your page. — Defender1031*Talk 02:09, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
i have a few reasons why this is not me
1. It Says i have made edits in march but i havent learned about H*R until last month
2. even if i made edit's i don't remember the thing's on this user page are very incorect
3. it say HF has made edits on july 24 but then i was just looking at this wiki
Then I suggest you change your password on the fanstuff wiki, and both of you ought to use a password that's more unique! =] OptimisticFool 02:43, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
