[edit] The last Don
I noticed on Limo-zeen page Perry_Palaroncini, you mentioned Don Chapman and Donnie Chapman. Are these 2 different people? If so further explanation, or this will be really confusing. I R F 16:05, 21 October 2005 (UTC)
- Good question--I'm confused as well; I think the claim is that Don Chapman (father) played Perry in the E-cards but Donnie Chapman (brother) played Perry in monster truck.Trey56 16:09, 21 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Sig characters
Hey *****6. Just so you know, ever since you changed your signature, the first five characters don't show up. I have a pretty standard configuration with quite a few fonts, so it's likely that a lot of other users are experiencing the same thing. Cheers! — **'* *** **m 17:21, 26 January 2006 (UTC)

for templating my gifs... how do you do that??? sry for being a noob =( csours 20:57, 7 February 2006 (UTC)
- For one of your two personal images, you add the line "{{personal-image|Csours}}" to the description. For your signature image, you add "{{personal-image-sig|Csours}}". If you ever want to abandon one of your images, add "{{personal-image-abandoned|Csours}}". Trey56 21:06, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

- I guess it's dot com would be the guy to ask, since he's the one who wrote the bit about the signature images. He clarified this comment a little on this page, indicating that he doesn't mind animated sig images, as long as they're not too distracting. I don't know, maybe it was fine the other way--they'll probably tell you if not! Anyway, sorry for the bother. Best, Trey56 05:14, 15 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sweet User Page
Nice User Page. If my computer wasn't so frustratingly slow, perhaps I'd have something as awesome. Maybe I'll get a userbox. But enough about me, no one wants to hear about that anyway... -RadSkat3 20:09, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Closing stuff
Hey there. I find that it's easier to close the STUFF item before making the archive. (To get the code, I just go one back in the history.) That way, you eliminate the (slim) possibility of someone changing the item between the time you archive it and close it, plus it gives you a handy red link to follow if the archive page is new. Keep on tranglin'! — It's dot com 19:04, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
- That's a good idea — thanks for the tip! Trey56 19:07, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
Hey again. Lately I've noticed that you've been closing the STUFFs very soon after they've opened. I really feel that unless something has ridiculous support (like a vote difference around 20) or is patently true or false, then it shouldn't be closed for at least three or four days. I was still considering the chicken beak one, and I was probably going to vote against it. I think that making STUFF too speedy fosters the idea that you have to log in to the wiki every single day or your voice won't be heard (an attitude I think we should resist). As always, rock, rock on! — It's dot com 20:35, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
- Fair enough. The facts you're referring to were ones whose fate I judged to be clearly determined, but I totally agree that it makes sense to give everyone at least a couple days to look at even one-sided facts before they're closed. The guidelines you mentioned will be helpful in making better judgments in the future. Thanks :) Trey56 21:11, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] French subtitles
Hi Trey. I saw you did some edits to the French subtitles, saying that there were "superfluous spaces". Allow me to clear this : in French, we put spaces after some of the punctuation. For example we put a space before (and after, of course) "!" and "?", as in "J'aime Homestar Runner ! Et toi ?".
It's a simple rule but it's not like that in English, so I understand why you tought I messed up with the spaces. But trust me, for a French reader it will be more clear with spaces like that.
But thanks for your help anyway ^^ I'll go translate some more...

[edit] Sniff
I liked your old siggy. Loafing 22:25, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks — I was just trying to conform to the signature policies...on the other hand, if I have the approval of a sysop, then maybe it's okay the other way :) Trey56 23:56, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
- What! No exceptions unless you pay me five bucks! Hmmm, the policies state that "preferably a signature would include no more than one image", so it would be acceptable to have two. It's a bit tougher on animated images, which are "strongly discouraged". As a sysop, I do encourage users to follow these recommendations. But on the other hand, your old siggy did conform to the rules, just not the recommendations; so there was nothing wrong with it ;-) Loafing 01:03, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

- Sorry! I'm sure it is the autocolumn (it works everywhere else, and wasn't there another problem with another function in autocolumns?) For now, I'll just replace my sig on that page with the appropriate text. Trey56 19:21, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

Well, yes... but that translation is Horrible. Even I couldn't understand... It was just put in an online translator and it just gave out gibberish. I just put that as a "dummy" I got the english translation and is working on that right now.
- Aha; I see. Online translators do suck — you'd think with all the modern technology available nowadays they could make better ones... :) Trey56 03:37, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
- One might think so, but even our English-English stuff doesn't work. Try putting a semi-colon in a sentance in Microsoft Word... and see how terrified it gets. Green squily line and a "hey, get that outa here." I R F 23:03, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
- That reminds me of a talk I attended by Kurt Vonnegut, who ordered us never to use semicolons; in his opinion they're androgenous (he used a stronger word there) punctuation marks that can't make up their mind one way or the other... Trey56 23:17, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
- Kurt Vonnegut is pretty old now, I didn't realize that he was still alive. I R F 23:22, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, he was pretty old four years ago or so when I heard him talk; he was talking about his friends dying and going to heaven. But what else can you expect from the president of the American Humanist Association ;) Trey56 23:27, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] HELP!!
Um, I tried to upload a .png file for my sig and this message keeps coming up: "The file is corrupt or has an incorrect extension. Please check the file and upload again." I keep trying again and it doesn't work... and you're not a sysop?!?! WELL YOU SHOULD BE!! Very Seriously, TheYellowDart—(t/c)
- I can think of a couple reasons why you might be getting that message. One thing that might be happening is that there's something weird going on with the .png part of the filename (for example, the file thinks that it's suppressing the .png, but the rest of the name is FILENAME.png, so that the actual file's name is FILENAME.png.png). So, I would try fiddling around with that part of the filename. If that doesn't fix it for you, you might have to try taking the screenshot (assuming that's what it is) again. Hope this helps, Trey56 21:32, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
- Um, actually I converted a Marshie icon file (.ico) thst I downloaded off of H*R to a .png. It may be corrupted now that I think about it. But the funny thing is, when I open it (let's say I use the program PAINT) it works. Hmm... TheYellowDart—(t/c) Merry Christmas!
- Hmm...I'm not sure what the problem is. If you direct me to the .ico file, I'd be happy to convert it to a png file and upload it for you. Trey56 05:55, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks, but I was fixing the problem on my user page at the same time you were... the page said "someone else has edited this page before you...". Isn't that a weird coincidence? Anyway, it's really late, and..... I hope they finish that LOGO DISCUSSION soon. Geez. TheYellowDart—(t/c)

Hey Trey, um, I was wondering..... do have a Nintendo DS? If so, what games are good for it? I just got one for Decemberween, (yeah for some reason I'm not telling you, I got to get my gifts early this year...... ah, childhood...) and I need some advice on games. [edit] Help out
- Hey, I'm thinking about creating a new page, but I don't know what to call it and I don't know all of its info. The page will be about interuppted names Strong Bad usually starts sounding out before getting interrupted by someone. Such as in bottom 10: He says, "and the number one spot in my bottom 10 is... [edit] Spoken Article Question
Hey Trey. I noticed you did a few Spoken Articles. They are in a .ogg extention. What program can I run them in? TheYellowDart—(t/c) P.S. Check out some funny videos on my userpage.

[edit] 68.145.103.189 = Addict 2006
Well, I'm here! --Addict 2006 22:50, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
I guess you've been following me around, right? Anyway, I think your challenges are too hard. I'm no fan of all NES games and stuff. I just know Bubble Bobble. I think. --Stuff and stuff, Addict 2006 18:28, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, they are hard, although I would say that this last one was by far the most difficult. If you look through the image history, you'll see that they're not all as difficult: some are easily recognizable to people who have played those games, some have text in the picture that can be searched for on Google, and many can be found through vgmuseum.com. As for following you around, no, not really, but I do pay attention sometimes when I see your name in Recent Changes. High fives, Trey56 19:36, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Have You Seen This?
Have you looked at this? I thinked it'd be good to have you as a editor of that wiki, seeing as how you're a fellow nintendophile...-LordQuackingstick 01:45, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, I saw that! Looks like it could be helpful wiki — are you a user there? I probably won't join right now — the last thing I need to do is get hooked on another wiki :) But I'm curious, what is that wiki going to encompass? Raw data about the systems and games only, or walkthroughs of games too? I'll be keeping my eye on that one; I've often wondered why there wasn't a Nintendo wiki... Trey56 01:49, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
- I have utterly no idea what it will encompass, because there's practically no finished articles and few users, so editing is needed. Also, take a look at the Zelda one. That one's more active. I'm a user on both under the name "Enviroinments." Ha! Get it?-LordQuackingstick 01:53, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, that's clever — something that I'm sure the other Zelda fans will appreciate :) Trey56 01:57, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
