Specific to Homestar Runner?

A large amount of appearances can also mean that it's a very common expression. I don't think there's anything very unique about saying "more like" at all, since it doesn't have the same running gag factor as Crap or Best/Worst X bucks I ever spent.-Brightstar Shiner 22:50, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

I agree with OptimisticFool. I think this is more of a mashing type article... sure it's common in certain dialects, but i know that i for one rarely hear the "more like" construct outside of the H*R universe, and that to me it seems to be used more often than normal by strong bad and others. keep — Defender1031*Talk 01:49, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

It is a dialect thing, but I live in the northern US (Ohio) and I hear it all the time. It's used in the same way as "like" or "yeah" to emphasize something (i.e. "More like, you're acting like a two-year-old") and isn't specific to H*R. -Brightstar Shiner 23:33, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, it's common.. and no, it's not regional.. but it's hilarious! It's a downright juvenile comeback and (forgive me for repeating myself) TBC use it a lot, lot, lot! They even give a "More Like" line to Strong Mad, who generally doesn't do comebacks.. he usually just gives a one syllable response to everything. Besides that, it genuinely seems like something Mike and Matt enjoy saying to each other as evidenced by the flag day DVD commentary. Hmmm... I'm starting to see your point optimistic. But what you said before about Seriously and Best/Worst X Ever is alittle different. Seriously is Homestar's "catchphrase" and that's been made pretty clear.

Summary so far: the main argument for deleting is "This phrase is common and not unique to Homestar Runner," and Trey56, Brightstar Shiner, It's dot com, DAGRON, and Qermaq seem to hold this view. The main argument for keeping is "Yes, this phrase is common, but it appears so often (19 by my count) that it's notable." OptimisticFool, DeFender1031, and Acam30 hold this view.

Both arguments are strong, and the number of users on each side is pretty equal, so if the current status remains as is, I'd say that this article should be kept due to a lack of consensus to delete it. Trey56 16:06, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

The concept of the 2000th article is enigmatic. Different articles will settle into that role, as old ones are deleted, merged, become redirects, etc., and eventually the dust may settle and people will be so focused on the 3000th article no one will care about the 2000th.
