Store Template

I made a template idea:

Not bad!!! Though, the "Main Store Page" should actually just be hyperlinked to the "Store" at the top like the Yahoo Store template. Also, there's an extra line between the Accessories and the CD/DVDs - Catjaz63 03:33, 12 April 2015 (UTC)
I just made {{storenew}}, so now we have a store template. Gfdgsgxgzgdrc 19:35, 12 April 2015 (UTC)

Old Store vs. New Store Organization

Hi all,

I have a concern regarding the subpages for the old and new stores. While I think it was the right idea to separate the current Store page and the Yahoo Store page I don't think it's the right approach for its subpages. The reason for that is that many pages already link to existing content in the subpages and that may break a lot of things. With that in mind I think we have two options:

  1. Reuse the current subpages for both old and new content. Have sections that separate the old Yahoo store and new store and discontinued content. Maybe even separate the Yahoo Store Discontinued content and New Store Discontinued content. This is my preferred solution.
  2. Turn the subpages into disambiguation pages and create both Yahoo Store and Shopify Store subpages. This would break any anchor links that may point to the subpages (there may be none but I don't know for sure).
  3. Create separate Shopify subpages and leave the current ones alone (link the current ones to the new ones via diambiguation templates).

So, I would like to discuss these two... erm... three options and gauge people's opinions. We could also ignore those links and just move the pages in question but I'm a little reluctant to do that. Fortunately we only have to worry about a subset of all the store subpages, namely:

T-Shirts | Hooded Sweatshirts | Baby Clothes | Accessories | Posters | Playsets & Toys!

EDIT: I restored some content so that it is not lost and modified the page to more or less resemble suggestion #1. If it's acceptable we can repeat the same on the other pages, otherwise it should be modified pending further discussion. --Stux 07:41, 15 April 2015 (UTC)

In my opinion, we should move the current subpages (for example, Store T-Shirts to Yahoo Store T-Shirts) and put all the new items there. We could probably get a bot to change the links. Gfdgsgxgzgdrc 23:06, 14 June 2017 (UTC)
I still think the old pages should be moved and the new pages should replace them. We can't keep this long long list on the main Store page forever! Gfdgsgxgzgdrc 04:55, 13 October 2017 (UTC)
I have separated the clothing and other items of the shopify store into their respective pages. It seems that, for a while, the store offerings were drastically reduced! And they've added a second substore. I have tried to organize those pages accordingly into active and discontinued items (so that we have a history of them). I also more or less updated the template to reflect the change. However the work is still incomplete (and thus I have kept the cleanup tag in the page). The items that still remain are:
  • Upload and add any missing images from the shopify and teespring stores (I kept some close-up images but the images on teespring may be different and should probably be re-uploaded as new images. I treated all teespring item images as new, so I left them all as image stubs.)
  • Update the template to better reflect the new reorganization
  • Cleanup/archive the current store page based
  • Double check that the store and teespring items and item information is correct!
  • Each item has an ID. Hopefully nothing linked to those specific IDs. Otherwise the links will have to be updated! Perhaps there are redirects that point to stuff that was moved?
I think that's it! Feel free to update/tweak the layout as needed. Thanks for flying! --Stux 14:48, 8 September 2019 (UTC)

Wave O' Shirts!

Uh oh. What do we do now?!? Gfdgsgxgzgdrc 22:19, 22 August 2016 (UTC)

I guess we upload all the new shirt-types and hope the HRWiki doesn't crash. - Catjaz63 22:59, 22 August 2016 (UTC)
A lot of them are older designs, just with better images. The question is, do we overwrite the old ones or make new, separate images for them? -- ■■   POPLE  STENCH?   ■■ 23:10, 22 August 2016 (UTC)
For archival reasons and also with Yahoo Store, it's best that we make new separate images for them. - Catjaz63 23:16, 22 August 2016 (UTC)
That is, assuming the server's image issues get sorted out. (I have a hypothesis of what's going on, I think there's a resolution limit for making thumbnails [eg, width x height x number of frames if it's a gif]... but I could be wrong.) -- ■■   POPLE  STENCH?   ■■ 00:53, 24 August 2016 (UTC)
Never mind, it's all good now. -- ■■   POPLE  STENCH?   ■■ 23:45, 25 August 2016 (UTC)

Has this been resolved? If so we can remove the cleanup tag from the article. -- Bleu Ninja 02:43, 1 July 2021 (UTC)

Figurine Set 2

I've been interested in figurine series 2 but it's sold out. How long has it been sold out, when will it come back, or are they gone forever like kick the cheat? 204.153.77.4 18:13, 27 October 2016 (UTC)

Fangamer

Currently "Fangamer" redirects to this page. However, the FG products are not sold or linked from the Shopify store and as a result many are not archived or catalogued on this wiki. Is there a reason why Fangamer is a simple redirect and not its own page? -- Bleu Ninja 22:42, 30 May 2021 (UTC)

The reason it's a redirect is because I noticed that it was a redlink. I did feel that the Fangamer-exclusive content should be documented; redirecting was just the simplest way to resolve the redlink issue. DEI DAT VMdatvm center\super contra 09:02, 1 June 2021 (UTC)

Teespring

I think the current approach of integrating Teespring items alongside Shopify ones is working fine. However I think it's a bit odd that Teespring is only mentioned implicitly. Not sure where the best place would be (opening paragraph? Fun Facts? I don't think it needs its own page) but a sentence or two should be added to the effect of "products are also offered via a storefront on the print-on-demand service Teespring" somewhere in this article. -- Bleu Ninja 16:22, 1 July 2021 (UTC)

The Shopify is Down

I don't know if anyone else has pointed this out yet on the wiki, but the Shopify store is down and displays a "please log in" page in place of the normal home page.

This kind of poor quality to treatment of the store isn't new to me, because the homestore has had less items since the time of my discovery of homestar in the post-hiatus era (ie only having the volume 6 of the sbemail dvds, everything else 1 and 2 but not 3, having only series 1 of the figurines as the only things that interested me). Last month, they only had meeples, the board game and the board game shirt.

So it makes sense for them to be renovating the store to sell more there than just trogdor the board game. (I just realized that the Everything Else Volumes 1-3 disc set is no longer buyable due to the store being down! This changes everything!)

I hope they bring back the store soon, so we can buy Homestar DVDs again. Or have Fangamer distribute DVDs or something. --J∃ffJMan 18:59, 5 July 2022 (UTC)

I gave the store's page a look myself. It says that they're in the process of updating it, so it'll probably be back up soon. — Keegster2 (Howl at me) 19:08, 5 July 2022 (UTC)
