[edit] Rename?

I say move to "Bubs's Bad Business Practices" per Doomy Tales. — Defender1031*Talk 20:50, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

Nah, "Shady" has a much nicer ring. "Bad" can mean a lot of things (evil, bad quality, poorly run), and I think they chose it just for the Pulp Fiction reference. "Shady", on the other hand, conveys the right nuance. It's a word that's used in the canon with regularity, too. In Broken Compy Menu, Homestar asks, "What kinda shady Bubs business you running here anyways?" — It's dot com 21:03, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
I agree, "Shady" sounds much better! (And shadier too). --Stux 21:04, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for the little tidbit that's worth adding. You're right. — Defender1031*Talk 21:06, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

Am I the only one who noticed that the current page title is "Bubs Shady BUSINESS Practices"? Cause when I tried to look it up, it wouldn't work, sooooo.... We need to change it.--It'sD0TC0M 18:15, 19 December 2011 (UTC)it'sD0TC0M

Actually, it's "Bubs's". And there's nothing wrong with the current name; you seem to be implying that "business" is spelled incorrectly, but it's not. ("Buisness", as seen in several toons, is a deliberate mangling of the word.) And... this topic is a year and a half old and long resolved. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 19:43, 19 December 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Questionable Medical Coverage

What section would the questionable medical coverage from Donut unto others go under? — Defender1031*Talk 21:19, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

How about "Insurance fraud"? Guybrush20X6 21:51, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
I like it, but maybe just "Fraud" as it'll allow for a wider range of offenses. — Defender1031*Talk 21:53, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

[edit] Stub

Does anyone else think we should remove the stub tag? I can't think of any ones that we missed. Ecept maybe for him changing his costume to get money in The House that gave sucky treats, but I don't think that counts as business. Guybrush20X6 17:26, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

You're right. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 18:04, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

Wait a minute, I just rememberd. Would Bubs selling Marzipan eggs as organic batteries count as false advertising? Guybrush20X6 18:20, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

Also, sould it be noted in the intro that he was in federal prison in Play Date. Guybrush20X6 18:27, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

[edit] Uncertain additions

If your uncertain if your would-be contribution to the list counts just post it under here and have it disscused. I'll go first

  • Quality Time — Bubs sells eggs to marzipan as "organic batteries". (false advertising)

Guybrush20X6 20:49, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

I say it counts, and be bold. After it's been reverted (with a valid reason in the edit summary) you can discuss it on the talk page; until then, if you think it belongs, add it! --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 23:38, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

[edit] 100 different answers for it.

Ok, about the "1 flavor, over a hundred different names for it!" deal in "Donut Unto Others" I think thats false advertising or some type of trick. What should I put that under?!

  • You can put it under false adverising and bait and switch. I put the American Dental assosiation thing under 2 categories as well. (Guybrush20X6 away from usual Lappy.) 95.146.58.128 21:10, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

[edit] "An arm and a leg"

This is listed under organ trafficking, but is it possible that Bubs was just using it as an expression? 21:41, 5 December 2011 (UTC)

No. That's the joke when marzipan says "not a problem". (She has neither) — Defender1031*Talk 00:01, 6 December 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Shady Legal Practice?

I don't know if it qualifies as a "shady business practice", but in Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 17.2, Bubs manages to get Coach Z tried as a minor even though Coach Z is "clearly an adult, and has been considered an "old man" It's definitely shady, but does it belong if this list is for business? 99.48.86.26 15:19, 2 April 2016 (UTC)

Or the fact that he's serving as an unlicensed attorney using only knowledge gained from John Grisham (Michael Crichton) novels. -107.77.70.61 19:05, 2 April 2016 (UTC)
There's no direct evidence or testimonial that Bubs is an unlicensed attorney, but he is a licensed bail bondsman. Still, if the current list contains "evidence tampering", then I suppose other legal infractions can fit. 99.48.86.26 22:38, 7 April 2016 (UTC)

[edit] Evidence Tampering

Why is evidence tampering listed here? Yes, it's a shady crime committed by Bubs, but that's a violation of federal law regarding private investigation, not a suspicious activity regarding his vending. That type of stuff goes on the Crime and Punishment page. - Catjaz63 01:14, 8 April 2016 (UTC)

Because he's doing it as part of business in all the examples with the possible exception of burning that Exhibit A envelope. Guybrush20X6 10:44, 8 April 2016 (UTC)
