[edit] Standard
Should we have a standard for games? I really don't like how the games look right now- Peasant's Quest is extremely huge and cluttered, the same with Stinkoman 20X6. Personally, I think it should go something like this:
''{Description of game.}'' ''{Screenshot}'' == Easter Eggs == ''{Easter Eggs}'' ==Fun Facts== ===Trivia=== ===Remarks=== ''{Etc, etc.}'' ==Walkthrough== *You can find the walkthrough for this game at [[(Certain Game's) Walkthrough]]. ==See Also== *Anything else, such as the Stinkomanual found in Stinkoman 20X6. ==External Links== *[Play the Game] *[Play the Game (Flash file)] [[Category:Games]]

[edit] WTH?
Something weird just happened to me on the games menu. I don't know if anybody else has had this, but the StinkoMan fighter was mouse was on has disappeared completely! It doesn't even make the noise! Also, my chracters won't show up with the text box. I've done a few different characters and it doesn't change between levels. I mean they could've taken it done, but.. the text isn't there. I have some screenshots, but I don't know to upload them. I mean, what the h
Oh, and when I click on the fighters, nothing happens.
[edit] Gallery?
Does anyone this this should be gallery'd, like Characters and Items?-- Bkmlb(talk to me·stuff I did) 00:21, 19 Sep 2005 (UTC)

- I think it was more easy to navigate before... - Joshua
- No offense, but I vote we change it back. It was much easier to be able to view all the games at a glance and not have to scroll down as much. - Joshua
- I vote we keep the gallery. — It's dot com 02:14, 19 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- I think that it is easier because then you can make sure that you don't miss any games. It also looks better-- Bkmlb(talk to me·stuff I did) 02:17, 19 Sep 2005 (UTC)

[edit] badminton
Does badminton really qualify to be listed here" I mean, TBC didn't make it up, as it's very old sport. A sport. Just wondering.... — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 07:14, 28 Sep 2005 (UTC)
I was just on my way to bring this up. It exists in thr "real world". Why not include Temple of Ashphai? (not a suggestion)---RatherAnnoying 20:13, 18 October 2005 (UTC)
- Months late, but I think it should be deleted. Bluebry
[edit] Game References
There should be a page that documents video game references, because tons of the such is peppered all over the site (esspecially in Strong Bad emails). ThomasO 17:01, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Typing Tutor Turbo
Should Typing Tutor Turbo (The KOT's arcade game from "the bet") in the games article?
- Typing Tutor Turbo isn't already there? Sure, we can stick it in the unplayable section. --DorianGray 18:48, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] spin and say
shouldn't spin and say be here?
Firstly, It's called "Who said what now?" and secondly, it's in the OLD menu. MJN SEIFER 20:09, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Slumber Party
Should we mention the video games from slumber party? Clapping Party could be a toon game, and the others Blisterqeist could be a non-playable.

[edit] THIS DEMO IS JUST SITTING HERE, WITHOUT EVEN A MENTION!!!!!!!
Has anyone noticed that there is a demo for homestar ruiner on the games page?
[edit] sbcg4ap
in the sbcg4ap games why isn't gel-arhie's pro fruitboarder on there?
- There, I put it on. You can do it yourself, if you know how. SuperfieldCreditUnion
I dont know how to put a picture, i thought only the admins could.
[edit] Butcher Bros.
Shouldn't we include Butcher Bros. from the sketchbook?

[edit] Connection to Space Fever II on GameBoy Camera
The menu bears a similarity to the Space Fever II menu on the GameBoy Camera mini-games. You shot different ships to go to different mini games. Just an extra bit of Trivia
[edit] Video Vs. Board
This page seems to be entirely video games, rather than Board Games. I propose a rename of this page to "Video Games", and making just "Games" a disambiguation page. Thoughts? — Defender1031*Talk 09:58, 2 July 2018 (UTC)
- I disagree. "Toons! Video Games! Characters! Downloads! Store! Email!". Video Games just seems out-of-place compared to the rest of the page titles, as well as overly long and needlessly specific. The website calls them Games. When most people see the word Games, they probably think of video games. Not to mention, a lot editing would be needed to rename such a significant page for such a mild reason. I'd be fine with not including board games here, and keeping it Games. Gfdgsgxgzgdrc 22:58, 2 July 2018 (UTC)
- Welp, as my edit indicates, I believe that this page is about Games in general. And while TBC only focused on video games at first, they now have branched out into board games. Where else would the Trogdor board game go? --Stux 00:30, 3 July 2018 (UTC)
- Board Games? — Defender1031*Talk 00:33, 3 July 2018 (UTC)
- That page seems to about fictional, in-universe board games. I don't think a real board game belongs there. I don't really see a reason why this page needs to be limited to video games. The reason it has been up until now is that TBC have only released video games until now. Heimstern Läufer 00:40, 3 July 2018 (UTC)
- And this page also lists the fictional, in-universe video games. I don't see a difference in that regard. — Defender1031*Talk 00:42, 3 July 2018 (UTC)
- Because this article is more of a catch-all. It covers games in general, and I don't see a reason to change that. Heimstern Läufer 00:46, 3 July 2018 (UTC)
- To add to what Heim says: the context is also different: Board Games deals with board games played in the HR universe, while this page deals with games originating from this website (Real world). It's a lot easier to extend that to all media covered by H*R. --Stux 00:49, 3 July 2018 (UTC)
- It doesn't though. What you two are suggesting is to have it cover all real life games, but only video in-universe games. That's not a consistent scope. If the purpose is to cover real life games, then I would think that the in-universe-only ones should be moved to a new page called "Video Games" and documented there as a parallel to Board Games. — Defender1031*Talk 00:50, 3 July 2018 (UTC)
- Now that may not be a bad idea, having an in-universe "Video Games" page for such instances. The only thing to be careful is what to move and what to copy: i'm sure several playable games (real world) also have in-universe counterparts. Such games would belong in both pages. --Stux 00:57, 3 July 2018 (UTC)

[edit] Links
If you've ever glanced at recent changes for half a millisecond, you probably know that I'm a sucker for internal consistency. It just bothers me when things feel random or abitrary. And that's exactly how I would describe the links at the bottom of the game pages. Here are some examples:
- play Secret Collect
- play the Flash file for Secret Collect
- play the Game
- play the Game (Flash file)
What should we do about this? I propose that we should make a {{gameextlinks}} template (similar to {{extlinks}} and {{sbemailextlinks}}) using the following format:
Gfdgsgxgzgdrc 22:10, 28 February 2020 (UTC)
- I kinda like the last of the 4 options but yes, the most important thing is to get it all consistent. thanks! — timmodonuts (T/C) 15:50, 29 February 2020 (UTC)
- I find the phrasing "play the file" kinda weird so I'm leaning toward the fourth option as well. Possibly with quotes around the game name. But in any case, yes, it should be consistent. DEI DAT VM┌datvm center\super contra┘ 22:40, 29 February 2020 (UTC)
Now that {{nextlinks}} has an action parameter, there's no need for a new template! We can just do this:
{{nextlinks|stinkogame|old=stinkogame/v7/stinkogame|action=play}}
- play "Stinkoman 20X6"
- play "Stinkoman 20X6" on the old Flash site
- view the Flash file for "Stinkoman 20X6"
How's that? Gfdgsgxgzgdrc 19:18, 11 February 2021 (UTC)
[edit] Halloween Hide & Seek
So would we consider this as a new game? It's not on the menu but I'd say it counts, though I'd want some other opinions before adding it to the autonav TheOneAndOnlyDanky 03:07, 30 October 2021 (UTC)
[edit] 2022 menu(s) clarification
So it looks like I conflated a couple things when stating the Videlectrix itch.io was the new main menu:
- The navbar "games" links to the Scrolling Shooter Games Menu
- homestarrunner.com/games links to Videlectrix
- The SSGM has been moved to homestarrunner.com/viderogames
- Much of the site (e.g. main pages) links to homestarrunner.com/games.html, which leads to a 404 error.
- I am unaware of a direct link to the Videlectrix page from the site (unless you count main page messages, which typically lead to sub-pages of the itch.io site anyways)
Hopefully this clarifies for future editors. I guess this means that the SSGM is still the main menu, even if the Videlectrix menu is the most recent. -- Bleu Ninja 00:34, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
