Sometimes the various characters use unusual greetings. They bear resemblance to conventional greetings, usually with just a different spelling.

- Disk 4 of 12 - Vampire's Castle — The Powered by The Cheat illustration of the rusty door has a mat in front of the door that reads "HELSCOME".

- Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 5.0 — Strong Bad, acting as a British constable, erroneously uses the valediction "cheerio" as a greeting.
- Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 13.2 — The Homestar Runner's message starts with the greeting "hi-low".
- Email alternate universe — Vector Strong Bad greets Strong Bad with "HELLOTE". Given Vector Strong Bad's nature, this is probably an instance of Engrish.
- Email diorama (Easter egg) — In an advertisement for Air Cardgage shoes, Senor Cardgage greets the viewer with the portmanteau "helloquialism".
