Weekly Fanstuff is a featured article, which means it showcases an important part of the Homestar Runner body of work and/or highlights the fine work of this wiki. We also might just think it's cool. If you see a way this page can be updated or improved without compromising previous work, feel free to contribute.

A-pretty Good

Yes, I had it archived on my computer for several months now (unknowingly, no doubt), and only yesterday did I realise I had it available all this time...and I had yet to see it here on the wiki. Almost 100% sure "sweetchucks" means Sweet Chuck Taylor's .. because the shoes are Converse, a brand by Chuck Taylor. -- EMJS

Cardboard Tube link

I've removed the link to obeythetube.com from the Trogdor Stand-up cabinet listing. Some of the images in their "images" section look similar to the cabinet, but I wasn't able to find that particular image anywhere. Perhaps the image was just created using the same software? Possiblity for a table?

A number of the images in this article are rather large and a few are off-site images. Nevertheless, does anyone else think that the weekly fanstuff article is a candidate for a table? I believe Tom implemented a nice table, very recently, on a similiar article over at Sketchbook, and I just wanted to know if anyone else thought that it would be a good idea? Skullcap

Is it just me or did they totally miss out on the "homestarmukle"???

I learned about this XML file when I was poking through these flash files: [2] & [3] when I found I couldn't view the image or the text when those two preceding files are saved remotely (i.e., on a hard drive.) Jonathan (I assume his last name is Howe, as he is a programmer) has left a message in a comment to the "Chapos" about the placement of certain "character shortcuts." He more or less 'signs' the comment with the words "Love, jonathan." I just found this rather amusing. Does anyone else? --The Paper 20:37, 2 Dec 2004 (MST)

Just a side note that the Dennis sign is cut off, below Dennis is probally "Willows Rd." or stuff like that. Not that un-common for roads to be nammed after people in the USA. Just for those that don't realize. - Mick

Possible Homestar yarmulke sighting

Is there anyway to tell where these things come from? While I was scanning the page the other night, I saw the HR yarmulke, and remembered I had seen a yarmulke very similar to that at a baseball game I went to a few months ago in Little Falls, NJ (I'm from Clifton, NJ, a neighboring town). --ISlayedTheKerrek 23:09, 6 Aug 2005 (UTC)

sending fanstuff

How do you send fanstuff so that they have a chance to get put on the weekly fanstuff? Do you email it to the BCS?

I don't know in every case, but as mentioned above, I sent in my wedding invitation in early May to TBC through the mailing address in the Store P.O. box. We didn't know if it would get to them, but it clearly did. It wasn't intended to be fanstuff; we actually wanted them to see it. At any rate, I suppose you could also e-mail them to TBC. Fairly On Point Kings

Is it just me, or is it quite plausable that Strong Mad is being played by a dresser? ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 17:06, 16 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Seems logical to me. Making such a rectangular costume might be a tad difficult (can YOU balance a thick wooden board on your head for a long time?). Obviously, it's a fairly thick surface, as it doesn't bend at the ends, like a piece of cardboard might if balanced on someone's head and draped with a sheet. Also, the place where Strong Mad's arms would be are kinda limp-looking (perhaps indicating that there's no person in the costume who would manipulate the arms). It looks about the right size for a dresser too, judging by the fellow dressed as Strong Bad next to it. And lastly, the Kick The Cheat plushie on top indicates that it's a level surface, which would be hard to do on a person. So, in summary, it's not just you. --DorianGray

Actually... I'm pretty sure there's a person in there. My wife and I are pretty sure we saw them at a Japanese culture convention or two, most likely Pacific Media Expo or Anime Expo. Note the badge hanging around Strong Bad's neck. I'd have to dig out my collection of conbadges to see if one of them matches, but I'm still quite sure that they're the same people, from the distinctively lopsided shape of the Strong Bad costume's head. Anyway, the Strong Mad costume mostly consisted of a wooden frame, and I'm pretty sure that they had handles coming down from the top inside the costume to support it. Kids dig the cheat

Backpack

Yeah, it looks like a bookbag/bagpack of sorts. On the left, it seems to be carried by some lady and it hangs down to her waist (those are pretty long straps). The second it's just set against a pole or handrail of sorts, overlooking some hill and there's a staircase to the left. Deryb Car?

The description for the pinewood derby cars say it's a 'Derby car made of pinewood'. This sounds a little strange to me, I mean am I the only person who knows what the Pinewood Derby is? The Pardack

Wait, so what are those? Tuba... bells? Like a little Decemberween ornament with a guy playing a tuba on it.. and also StrongBad?

The big round part of the tuba (or other such instrument) where the sound comes out is called a "bell."

Ok, so what are we looking at? I see a tuba player and above him a circle with strong bad's face.. is that like a blow-up of a smaller detail on the tuba that we can't see? Why are there three of them?

Cheatar Jr.

hey you guys, is that Cheatar Jr. one of those BRatz Cheap-o fake Guitar things that they sell at Target? or is it the controller for the game Guitar Hero?

You really think that Strong Mad and Marzipan are missing? I see them as the second and third heads down on the right slope. Strong Zim

I'm not happy with the Invader Zim reference for the "awesome cheatcow". The only connection between this fanart and Invader Zim is that they have beady eyes. It's a common drawing style. I agree with this, just thought that it might be me going crazy at the time so didnt post it earlier, definitely looks like the bottom of Marzy's dress turned sideways (think with all the area below the white ribbons on the dress as yellow). Comparing it to the Gremlin in this picture, it doesn't look like one — at least the side windows in the back are different, and the hood seems to be longer. But perhaps a different year or model Gremlin looked like that one.

An image search shows similar cars to the one from the 'Kipedia article. Take good notice of the weird shape of those windows. Given that Gremlins apparently look very different from the Trogcar, that the Trogcar looks like any ordinary old European car, and that it has the steering wheel on the right-hand side, I'd say that's definitely not a Gremlin. Although it is not overly important to identify the make of car, I can with certainty rule out it being an AMC Gremlin. It would make sense given the exposure that car has received, but I personally believe the car is a Vauxhall Chevette. Okay, so I went through chevettes.com and a few good images of the taillights of various years/models of Chevette: '76, '76, '76, '76, '77, '78, '79, '80, '81, '81, '82, '82, '82, 82, '84, '84, '84, '84, '85, '85, '86, and '86. Good investigative work there, Tom. The only snag is that the photos you found are of American cars (Chevrolet) and the trogcar appears to be a European one. That may explain the reason why the tail lamps are difficult to identify. —THE PAPER^PREEEOW 01:07, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

Rag Doll?

That type of doll is called either a UFO Catcher Doll or a Plushie. A rag doll is made from scraps of leftover material.

All soft toys are plushies, a ragdoll is a plushie stuffed with scraps of rags, and a UFO catcher doll is a plushie you got from a UFO catcher machine (do people actually WIN those?)

This doll was actually made from cut up t-shirts, so the term rag doll does seem appropriate. His feet aren't actually preternaturally large, rather he was sitting in a chair in the original photo, causing his feet to look huge through perspective.

Eh, Steve?

Doesn't that ornament look a bit fake? Kinda looks like a photoshop filter was thrown over a screenshot. It's hard to tell cuz it's a little low-res...
