[edit] Chinese Translation
I think that "我不喜欢饭了!" means "I did not like the food!" Am I right? - Saddy Dumpington 19:44, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
- Hmm, I guess since I archived my talk, there's no way for you too see that it's already been answered by Dot com. My bad. Anyway, it actually means "I don't like food anymore!" Heimstern Läufer 01:31, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

That's all german I know.Rinop 21:11, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Nov 6 2007 Opera Quote
Re this: The opera is Carmen, and I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but the name "Carmen" can be found at the ends of Homestarloween Party and The House that Gave Sucky Treats when Strong Bad's costumes are revealed. Trey56 02:32, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Block Notices
Hey Heimstern Läufer. Is it okay if I tell people that they have been blocked for x days and come back and make good edits. Is it? Sam the Man 22:54, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
- I don't think you should. Better to leave that to the sysop making the block. Also, it needs to be better worded than this. "Come back and make good edits" could be read as sarcastic (you probably didn't mean it that way, but it can be seen that way). Heimstern Läufer 23:00, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

- In case you are wondering, the reason I took so long is that I'm always very hesitant to block users who may be acting in good faith, even if misguidedly. In this case, I blocked only when it was clear that nothing else was going to stop the disruption. Heimstern Läufer 23:35, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
- I think the guy you blocked will get back at Bubs and Coach Z's Relationship tomorrow. Either that, or create the page again. Or even vandalize your page. What should we do? Sam the Man 00:23, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
- Nothing. We don't block users for stuff they didn't do yet. If he comes back, and let's don't get over our heads here in who this guy is, he will be dealt with. — Elcool (talk)(contribs) 08:20, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Question (H*R Wiki banner)
Hey Heimstern Laufer, you told me on my talk page that I could ask you a question, so I'll ask you one (this will be the only time, I promise). I'm going to make a H*R Wiki banner because I'm bored, is there a certain place I should put it? Kurosaki · talk 20:20, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
- What kind of banner do you mean, and how would it be used? For example, if it would go on your user page, then it would be a personal image. If you're interested in making a lot of banners, then the fanstuff wiki probably has a place for that. (Also, feel free to ask more than just that one question. :) ) — It's dot com 21:07, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Lost in Translation
Hey Heimstern. For your translation of "The King of Town" (Der König der Stadt), literally, that means "The King the town". Wouldn't it be better to say something like "Der Stadtkönig" or "Der König von Stadt"? I'm only in German I, so obviously my translation wouldn't compare to yours. But nonetheless, could you provide feedback?
--Zerlock1124 23:28, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
- Good question, Zerlock. Here's my answer: although "von" is sometimes used to translate the English "of", it's also very common to simply change the noun into the genitive case. In this case, the noun is "die Stadt". Changing it to the genitive makes it "der Stadt". So "Der König der Stadt" is actually "The King of (the) Town" because "Stadt" is in the genitive. - Actually, that's a vandal username. And I'm no vandal! But in all seriousness, when we've discussed userpage redirects in the past, we've usually talked about each person only being allowed one redirect, so I won't make that redirect unless the community clearly favours it. [edit] HRWiki:Featured article for 2008, week 16, day 6
I created that article as a redirect, so that the 5 red links would go away. Why'd you delete it?
- What redlinks? At any rate, those pages aren't necessary. That's why I deleted them. We only need to include project pages for daily FAs when we actually are doing daily FAs. Heimstern Läufer 03:28, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
- redlinks=Special:Wantedpages There were 5 pages linked to said deletion, so I added a redirect to resolve the issue.
- Those 5 links don't really exist - they're a result of the way the "Featured Article" section works. Today, for example, it looks at both HRWiki:Featured article for 2008, week 16, day 6 and HRWiki:Featured article for 2008, week 16 (with no "day" part). If the specific-day one exists, it shows that, but if it doesn't, it shows the whole-week one. So we can have daily featured articles or weekly featured articles, and change between them, just by creating the features in the right place. However, because of the way it works, both of the daily and weekly templates get linked to by Main Page behind the scenes... even though one of them isn't actually used. So the daily one ends up in Special:Wantedpages, since the Main Page (and 4 other pages that look like the Main Page) seem to be linking to it. --phlip TC 03:54, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

- OK, sorry I didn't notice that. If no one says anything, though, it's better just to be bold and add it to the article than to STUFF, especially while making no argument for the fact. STUFF should really only be used as a last resort these days (I know it wasn't that way in the past, but our community has moved in a different direction in this front). Meanwhile, I've replied to your comment on the talk page. Hope that helps. Heimstern Läufer 03:59, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Hi
Since you are a Wikipedia admin, I'd like to ask you something. My Wikipedia account has been blocked because it is highly suspected of being a sock of some person I don't even know and have a COMPLETELY different IP address from. Could you please unblock it? Thanks. IntfictExpert 00:52, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
- Everyone else: Please forgive my using this talk page for Wikipedia-type business.
- IntfictExpert: You have been identified as the banned user 98E by a checkuser. I have no checkuser privileges at Wikipedia and thus have no way to confirm or deny this. I therefore will most definitely not unblock your account without hearing some doubt from a checkuser that you are 98E. Please note that, as my note above suggests, this talk page really should not be used for non-HRWiki-related business; therefore, I ask you not to continue this discussion here please. Thank you. Heimstern Läufer 02:37, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

- Well where can I continue it? It's very hard to be released from this block. IntfictExpert 03:19, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
- Try creating a new username. If it wasn't your IP that was blocked, from the way you stated your sentence earlier, then you should be able to create a new account...but please don't continue the conversation here, as we don't have any affiliation with the big cheese, Wikipedia. [edit] "Swears" etc.
Regarding your message re: Talk:more_armies#Explanation_of_lunch-handeree_label
- Concerning your recent dispute with OptimisticFool concerning the censoring of a word: He was correct that we don't include words like that in our articles (with a few exceptions, for which we do offer a warning)...
I've seen a lot of these ominous-sounding "we don't", both in your message and in others' edit summaries; but I've read the policies, guidelines, etc., and I don't find any evidence that this is anything but your personal feeling about what ought to be done. Even if it is an accurate description of what has generally happened in the past, how does "we don't" translate into "I shouldn't" if there's no policy about it? In this case the crucial phrase here is "words like this"; I've already stated my opinion that you're just wrong about whether this particular word is "like" uncontroversial crap or, let's say, uncontroversially obscene m**********r, but you and the other discussion participants just continue to presuppose your point.
