Religion has occasionally been referenced in the Homestar Runner universe.

Appearances

• Renaldo — Wears a sideways Star and Crescent, a symbol of Islam.
• Email — one of the return addresses is "Duderonomy", a reference to Deuteronomy.
• Tis True, Pom Pom, Tis True — Homestar sees Strong Sad as a nun.
• Hallrunner — One of the obstacles is a Franciscan monk.
• Pumpkin Carve-nival (Easter egg) — Homsar remarks, "And also with you," a traditional response by the congregation to the priest's "The Lord be with you" in some Christian denominations.
• Email record book (commentary) — Strong Bad says, "I mean, I remember as a kid thinking that the Guinness Book of World Records was like, up there with the Bible."
• Sketchbook for 10 March 2006 — features Shaker Homestar and Mike.
• Thy Dungeonman 3 — A fat monk, who lives alone in a monastery, tries to eat you.
• Teen Girl Squad Issue 11 (commentary) — Ryan Sterritt recalls attending a Bible study camp.
• Email looking old — Strong Bad's age is protected by monks. Marzipan drinks kosher tea.
• The King of Town's Very Own Quite Popular Cartoon Show!! — the King of Town has a Cleric who tries to marry The Poopsmith to a pleasant odor in a chapel.
• Email more armies (Easter egg) — Taranchula's album Shady Missionaries features "Fairly Religious Overtones!"
• Non-Sequitur Champion — Senor Cardgage says, "Thank yo, Presbyterian."
• Email hiding — Strong Bad tells The Cheat about a prestigious monk.
• Baddest of the Bands — Strong Bad calls Strong Sad "Sister Christian".
• Jibblies 2 — Strong Bad tells Bubs he needs, among other things, crosses and holy water.
• Strong Badia the Free — The Egyptian god Anubis makes an appearance.
• 2 Part Episode: Part 2 — Dryghost says he got the Headquarters Playset for his Bar Mitzvah.

God

In addition, God has also been mentioned on rare occasions, usually as part of an interjection.

• english paper — After the release of this email, a half-eaten burrito was listed for sale on eBay. After a rapid series of high bids, Homestar Runner posted a message beginning with "Oh my god you guys are crazy!!!"
• Thorax Corporation — The Program Congratulation reads in part, "Oh dear God, what has gone wrong!"
• Thy Dungeonman II — Removing the loin-cheesecloth results in the message "Thou art as naked as the day god made thee." Also, if "Talk X" (anything you can't talk to) is inputted, the game will respond, "Ye wish (said X) was here. God, that's all ye ever talketh about anymore."
• Strongest Man in the World — The Grape Fairie tells The Announcer, "Honest to God, Mookie Wilson gave me the golbol to my aunt in 1974."
• Email hygiene — Gene says, "Thank God I'm Gene!"
• Kick-A-Ball — In the Easter Egg, The Umpire tells The Announcer, "Honest to God, Mookie Blaylock gave this kickball my aunt, 1984."
