A website was created to promote Trogdor!! The Board Game. It is located at trogdorboardgame.homestarrunner.com. It was linked to on the Index Page until the Kickstarter campaign began on July 17, then re-added on June 29, 2019. There are five links at the top: "Buy It Soon!", "Videos", "Rules / FAQs", "Rulebook Songs", and "Soundboard". Each link leads to a different part of the website, except "Buy It Soon!", which links to the board game on the Store.

SHIPPING QUESTIONS:

Q: Where can I buy Trogdor the Board Game?

A: The project's Kickstarter campaign has now ended. We will make a limited number of extras available in our Shopify store once the final deliveries of the Kickstarter have occurred. We expect this to be in late July / early August, 2019.

If you'd like to be notified when the game becomes available. Please email us at trogdorsupp@gmail.com

*Note: Due to the high number of backers in the US we expect shipping to take the entire month of July.

  • Australia/New Zealand - Started shipping to backers end of June.
Email kickstarter@aetherworks.com.au for anything related to shipping. Email us at trogdorsupp@gmail.com for all other questions.
  • Asia - Starts shipping to backers mid July.

Q: I received my game, but a component is missing or damaged. What should I do?

A: Please email us at trogdorsupp@gmail.com with your order information and a description of the problem.

Q: My address has changed and I have not received my game yet? What should I do?

A: Please email us your order info and new address at trogdorsupp@gmail.com

Q: I received my Wyrmwood board or box but no game or game pieces. Where's my Trogdor game?

A: All Wyrmwood boards/boxes are shipping directly from Wyrmwood without game pieces and they will handle any customer service issues related to their product. You can contact them here. The game itself (and any add-ons, t-shirts, pins, etc.) will ship from the fulfillment hub in your region. ALL Wyrmwood tiers come with a Burninator version of the base game which includes both wooden meeples and plastic miniatures. The Wyrmwood tiers are called Beefy, Majesty, and Consummate. We realize those are a lot of Trogdor-related words and we apologize for any confusion.

GENERAL:
Q: It says the game is for 1-6 players, are there special rules for playing solo?

A: No. Since the game is what some folk call "group solitaire," the gameplay is the same no matter how many are playing. If playing by yourself, we suggest adjusting the difficulty since you will only have one Keeper power and one Item at your disposal. For instance, you could:

  • Play with less Troghammer cards (or exclude Trogham entirely)
  • Treat the Lake Tile as a normal tile
  • Put all three cottages in the corners of the map, making them easier to burninate

GAME COMPONENTS & SETUP:
Q: What is the large, white box-thing inside my box for?

A: There are two versions of the game: the Standard Version with only wooden meeples and the Deluxe Version which also includes plastic miniatures. The white box-thing is where the plastic miniatures go in the deluxe version. In the standard version, it's just a spacer to keep the contents of your game from sliding around. Strong Sad has some suggestions for fun things to do with that spacer here.

Q: Do the plastic miniatures change the gameplay at all?

A: No, you can use them interchangeably. The only difference is that the plastic cottages have roofs that are separate from the base of the cottage. When you burninate a plastic cottage, you only flip the roof piece to reveal the flames. With the wooden meeples, you flip the entire cottage piece to show the flames on the back.

Q: What's this little white bag with the creepy face on it for?

A: That's the bag for Stack Em To The Heavens, a bonus stacking mini-game you can play with some of the wooden meeples (shown here). A Rules Card for Stack Em To The Heavens is included in your game. Stack Em To The Heavens is completely separate from the main Trogdor game and does not factor into the gameplay. Feel free to ignore it completely if you want. Oh, and the creepy face is Marshie the marshmallow. Prolly best to ignore him too.

Q: What are all these other dragon-ish meeples for?

A: Those are alternate Trogdors based on different interpretations of the burninator from the original cartoon that spawned Trogdor in the first place. They all function the same and do not change gameplay. So before you play, just pick your fav and leave the others in the box.

Q: Is the flame helmet included with the plastic miniatures supposed to snap onto the peasant's head?

A: No, it won't snap, like LEGO-snap. However, there is a 'right' way to put the helmet on where it fits more snugly. But either way it's more like it's resting on the peasant's head than fastened. Who fastens fire to their heads anyways, right? It should stay put enough while you move the flaming peasant around the board.

Q: Hey! Why come it says 'Toaster's Choice' instead of 'Taster's Choice'? You did it wrong!

A: We did that on purpose. We know it's different. Do YOU want to face the legal might of NESCAFE?!

Q: Do I have to set up the map the way you guys have it in the rulebook?

A: Nope! The suggestions shown in the Rulebook are just to get you started. You are welcome to come up with your own configurations to increase or decrease difficulty.

KEEPERS & ITEMS:
Q: When can I use my Keeper powers and Items during the game?

A: Unless your Keeper or Item card states otherwise, you can only use your Keeper power or Item on your turn. Keeper powers are always available to you as long as it is your turn. Items, on the other hand, must be charged in order to use them on your turn.

Q: When can I recharge my Item?

A: You can only recharge your Item on your turn, unless otherwise stated on your Item card. For example, if your Item's recharge condition is, "When Trogdor visits the Lake tile," then you must have Trogdor visit the Lake tile during your turn in order to recharge it (FYI, 'visiting' a tile just means touching it during your movements, not ending your turn on it).

Q: If I recharge my Item during my turn, can I use it more than once?

A: No. You can only use an Item once per turn. However, you can use and recharge on the same turn and your item would be ready to go for your next turn. If you began your turn with an uncharged (or discharged) Item, you could feasibly recharge it, then use it, then recharge it again all on the same turn.

Q: The Item called 'Disk of Healing' says it has no recharge. Does that mean I can keep using it over and over again without recharging?

A: No. This means it is a one-time-use card that can only be used once per game. Don't tear it up or do anything crazy like those play-for-months type games though.

Q: What's up with these Keeper and Item cards that have tape and bad drawings on them?

A: Those were added to the game by Strong Bad, the wrestle-man who came up with Trogdor, who felt that the game needed more chaos. Feel free to use them when you play but, keep in mind, they may break the game in new and hilarious ways. Strong Bad did NOT playtest these cards which is why they say "Use at your own risk!" on them.

Rulebook Songs

The Rulebook Songs section has links to the twelve songs on the Trogdor!! The Board Game Rulebook EP.

Rulebook EP:

Don't get us wrong, the rulebook for Trogdor!! The Board Game is all kinds of awesome but you know what would make it even MORE awesome? An mini-album of short songs by Strong Bad and friends that highlight the rules!! Click n' Listen!

Soundboard

"A cooperative game of burnination, majesty, and consummate V's."

A soundboard is available to provide music and sound effects during gameplay. This is separate from the website, and does not have the same header or design.

There are three sections. The default section lists five background songs, as well as icons for good or bad events regarding Trogdor, peasants, burnination/enemies, or cottages. They are labelled "Something good happened" and "Something bad happened". The sounds are chosen randomly based on the icon clicked. Clicking the "MORE" button on the right will reveal the second section, which lists each individual sound, divided into "Strong Bad", "Sound Effects", "Background Music", and "Short Music" sections. Each sound has a specific title. Clicking "MORE" again will reveal the songs from the Trogdor!! The Board Game Rulebook EP.

Fun Facts

List of Website Updates

  • June 29, 2018 — When the page first went up, there were several changes from the website now.
    • The layout was blander, with a beige background, and there were no other pages.
    • The logo was a red ribbon reading "TROGDOR!!", with "The Board Game" typed underneath.
    • The scrolling plastic miniatures were originally at the top, and they were meeples. They could be clicked to reveal the miniature version.
    • The description read "A cooperative game of burnination, majesty, and consummate V's." with the next line being "For 2-6 Players. Coming to Kickstarter July 17, 2018."
    • There was a "Get Notified" link at the top that led the reader to the mailing list section at the bottom of the page.
    • Originally, if "tothelimit" was typed and the page was clicked, the Trogdor meeple turned into a green Atari Dragon (referencing Everybody to the Limit). This was removed at an unknown date.
  • June 30, 2018 — The day after the page went up, links to the board game's Twitter and Facebook pages were added.
  • July 17, 2018 — The copyright notice at the bottom was added on the same day the redesigned Index Page was revealed, which included the same notice.
  • After December 30, 2018 — The "Get Notified" link was changed to "Pre-Order Now!", linking to a place you could pre-order the game.
  • February 21, 2019
    • The logo changed from the red ribbon banner to the box art logo, and the "The Board Game" text written underneath was removed.
    • "For 2-6 Players. Coming to Kickstarter July 17th, 2018." was changed to "Shipping June 2019."
    • The Twitter and Facebook links were removed from the header.
    • Four photos of the Wyrmwood boards were added to the gallery.
  • June 29, 2019
    • On the one-year anniversary of the site, it was redesigned completely, with a brand new layout and a wooden desk aesthetic. Everything was rearranged.
    • The logo was changed to the current logo on the box.
    • The image gallery was moved to the top, and the photos were updated.
    • The description was expanded to what it is today.
    • The "Pre-Order Now!" link was removed.
    • Links to "Buy It Soon!", "Videos", "Rules / FAQs", "Rulebook Songs", and "Soundboard" were added at the top.
    • The "News & Updates:" header was changed to "Shipping News & Updates!".
    • The meeples scrolling across the screen were turned into plastic miniatures and moved to the bottom, above the mailing list section. The ability to click them to change them into plastic miniatures was removed. Additionally, the miniatures were changed to the newer, more detailed ink-washed versions.
    • A second exclamation mark was added after "Trogdor!" in the page title, to match the punctuation of the board game.
  • Less than a week after June 29, 2019 — The video descriptions were changed from "Video text here" to actual descriptions.

Trivia

  • Between the title and the description, there are images of plastic miniature pieces sliding across the screen, with four visible at a time (Troghammer, archers, Trogdor, unburninated cottage, burninated peasant, burninated cottage, knight, unburninated peasant, in that order). The images wiggle if the mouse pointer is hovered over them.
  • The "mailing list" notice at the bottom is nearly identical to the one on the Index Page, even using the same example email address.
  • The Atari Dragon uses its design from the Atari 2600 game Adventure, rather than its regular Homestar Runner design.
  • This website was designed by Joe Peacock, the same person who is redesigning the Index Page, as indicated by the copyright notice.
  • On the soundboard, the song When The Knight Moves Thru Ya is listed as "The Knight Moves Thru Ya".

Remarks

Goofs

  • "Trogdor" is misspelled as "Trodor" in the Stack 'Em to the Heavens! description on the Videos page.
  • Some links on the FAQ link to the same page with "#myModal" at the end of the URL, and don't seem to do anything.
