[edit] This is sad...
The Wiki is losing its need for editing, it is so sad. 72.150.230.125 19:38, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
- What is that supposed to mean.--H*bad 19:57, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
- Guess there's not much to do when there isn't a significant update.. —BazookaJoe 20:02, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
- Well, there's still things to be perfected. As long as H*R keeps producing cartoons, we'll still have work to do. Thus, the wiki will never lose its need for editing. And when there's not a significant edit, just make minor fixes to pages. After all, I know that we don't all have prefect grammar. :P — Seriously (Talk) 20:09, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
- And there's always Sound Effects to add. That one's a perpetual stub. --DorianGray

- I think that the sound effects will always be a stub.--H*bad 20:32, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
- As long as things are produced, it will be... There's always a new sound effect to add, or an old one you just suddenly notice from re-watching an old toon. --DorianGray
[edit] Sound
Is there a way to upload audio on to here?--H*bad 21:42, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
- I am not acquainted with one. —BazookaJoe 21:43, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
- Oh ok.--H*bad 21:44, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Recent rollback
Actually, the last part of my edit summary didn't mean much. I merely reverted it because of its innapropriate language. — Seriously (Talk) 18:50, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] IP change
How does an Ip address change if you don't change computers?--H*bad 20:15, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
- Well, it's your Internet Service Provider that is changing the IP for whatever reason, probably just by random assignments. Generally, you have no control over what your IP is. —BazookaJoe 05:04, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
- Ok thanks, that really scared me for a while.--H*bad 05:18, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Sysop nom.
Why haven't we had a sysop nomination in a while?--H*bad 20:38, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
- There hasn't been a need for large-scale nominations in the past year. Back in the day, things were a bit different. The need for sysops was great, and there were many qualified users. The admins of the time decided that nominations would be an appropriate format for deciding sysops. It was a good way for the community to find the cream of the crop. Nowadays, the need for new sysops is not as great. The cream of the crop is now easier to spot out of the crowd. That is why the last two rounds of sysop appointments have been decided by the bureaucrats. —BazookaJoe 20:51, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
- Is that why. Ok.--H*bad 21:00, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
- Another question. Why aren't you a beaucrat? Your a great user.--H*bad 14:40, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
- *blush* Thanks. But other people have done so much more than me. And I'm content where I am; bureaucratship isn't my goal. —BazookaJoe 14:46, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
- Ok. It just seems to me that your a really great user. Also, since your my favorite sysop of the week, I have to copy you in some way. And do you know something I could copy of yours?--H*bad 14:49, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
- Then you should copy his good editing style, his strong contributions, his keen eye for problems with the recent changes, and his sharp decision-making skills. (Incidentally, the only extra powers a bureaucrat has is to assign user groups (e.g. make sysops) and rename users. We've pretty much got that covered for a while.) — It's dot com 15:01, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
- And good grammer skills.--H*bad 15:02, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
- You can look through my proudest contributions on my user page for ideas. I'm not saying that writing a transcript is a high honor, though. It is to some, but being able to transcribe something new on the Homestar Runner website is a very rare opporitunity, and I don't try too hard to do so. There are many things that you can do on the site that you don't have to wait for or compete for. DVD transcripts I like writing more, as you can see. However, I think the thing I enjoy doing most is all-around maintenance of the site. Patrolling recent changes, reverting trolls and vandals (which are much more abundant during the summer), perfecting pages mild OCD style, double-checking transcripts (I often call those last two "fix-ups" in my edit summaries). But everybody has different styles. Find something you are good at doing and like doing, and find ways to get it done. —BazookaJoe 15:18, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

- Is it indanger of being deleted or close to it?--H*Bad 14:27, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
- It could be. Depends on if you can get enough appearances to convince us that it's a running gag. Then, it's up to the community. —BazookaJoe 14:29, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
- I have seen this one that was like just one appearance. Which reminds me to put the stub tag on it.--H*Bad 14:30, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] "Strong" Vandalism?
Hi Joe. Why did you revert my edit on Strong's talk page, where I criticized his behavior? When I see someone create a user account and immediately start vandalizing user pages, I see a troll, and I thought trolls were universally dealt with as such. Am I wrong in thinking that? — KieferSkunk (talk) — 14:17, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
- You should save the debate for my talk page; he doesn't need to see something like that on his talk page. I'm just trying something a little different. Because he says he wants to be blocked, I am not going to, but I want to show him that there are better things to do on this wiki. If it doesn't work out, then, that's that. —BazookaJoe 14:18, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
- Eh, personally, I'd just have canned him anyway. Someone who's deliberately vying for that sort of attention doesn't want (or deserve) to be reasoned with. — KieferSkunk (talk) — 14:22, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
- Maybe so, but there's always that chance that trying will affect his character. —BazookaJoe 14:23, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sorry
sorry for my vandilism I will contribute from now on but can you give me a intro on this wiki you can leave me a message on my talk page. -- Strong 17:25, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
- Thats all right. Just please don't do it again. And have fun editing this place, which isn't finished. So I know that you can find a lot of things to do on here.--H*Bad 17:42, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Work
Ha, that sucks. I just posted the same thing too, at the same time you were posting yours. Seya around. ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 13:00, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, tonight, when we can come back to fully completed pages and not have to worry about anything. yay? —BazookaJoe 13:03, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] HELP
What is the watchlist for? What do you do with it? Thank You for all your help, -marzipan1
- The watchlist is the thing that gives you a listing of when and what pages have been changed. You can choose what pages you would like to watch by pressing on the "watch" button at the top of the page. For example, you can watch my talk page next time you ask a question, and then go to your watchlist to see if I answered it. You can always take a page off your watchlist my pushing the unwatch button at the top of the page. —BazookaJoe 19:28, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Flashforward Intro
Haha, you beat me to the restoration. I just wanted it for the "eight-months-prior-to-release" posterity, but external linkage is just as good a reason as any. Thanks :) ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 05:53, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
- Vooooooooooooooooo, thank you for the message. I was getting sad because I wasn't getting any bjmails. —BazookaJoe 05:56, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Help out
- Hey, I'm thinking about creating a new page, but I don't know what to call it and I don't know all of its info. The page will be about interuppted names Strong Bad usually starts sounding out before getting interrupted by someone. Such as in bottom 10: He says, "and the number one spot in my bottom 10 is... Th--" and then gets interrupted. Please help out. I am sending this to all sysops. --TheYellowDart—(t/c)

[edit] Viklas Puppet
Hey there BazookaJoe. That Mr.Bonar you blocked, he may be a sock puppet of Viklas. Should we block Viklas again? Very Confused, Sam the Man 19:53, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
- I'll let someone else handle that. They know more about Viklas than I do. —BazookaJoe 20:50, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] D&d greg's user page
Hey, yea the unknown IP adress was me, I forgot to log in. I noticed when I did the userbox it was at the bottom and there was a large space between each thing. It was fixed, though. Do you know what I did wrong? — D&d greg (Talk | contribs) 19:28, 31 May 2007 (UTC) (left unsigned)
- You can find the answer in the history of your page. Loafing 20:21, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] My Personal Images
Is there a way to see all of my personal images? Like a Special Page? TheThingé 13:16, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
- Also one for my subpages? TheThingé 13:20, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
- To see your subpages: [1]. Maybe there's a better way, I wouldn't know. —Shwoo 13:23, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
- Well, there's Special:Allpages/User:The thing – does the same as your link, but it's quicker to write ;-) As for personal images, you want Special:Personalimages#T. --phlip TC 13:26, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] you did not pay attention
You made a list when I said "...as follows and I quote." on the page HRWiki:Featured Article Selection Did you notice that? Master of Nature 19:06, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, I noticed it. Did you not see how the spaces at the beginning of the lines were causing page format issues? My edit had the intent of fixing the formatting, and I saw the asterisks that you put in there, so I assumed that you wanted a bulleted list. How you made it look now is grood. I mean great. Great and good. —BazookaJoe 19:51, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] [2]
Oh yeah. Makes good sense. You sysops have good minds to think things like these through :). But that doesn't mean we should capitalize all of the email titles, should we? Homestar-Winner (talk) 23:19, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
- I wouldn't mind doing so, but not everyone feels that way. So, we're keeping the lowercase email titles like we've always done it. But I'll fight to make sure people don't forget that we do have the option to capitalize email titles when it looks best (for example, at the beginning of a sentence in a FA write-up). I did realize that a capitalized Dragon, while looking normal to the rest of the world, would confuse the people heavily involved in this wiki. So I italicized it to Dragon to subtly indicate that it is a cartoon title. —BazookaJoe 07:42, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks. :)
I was just surfing around and happened to land on the history of my first transcript from a million years back (President's Daughter) and saw you wrote a nice comment along the lines of "Transcribing is hard, nice job MrsCommanderson!" or something... thanks. :) --MrsCommanderson 02:15, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Keeping us protected
I looked at your recent contributions, and it's mostly related to protecting and unprotecting images and featured articles. Nevertheless, it warms my heart to see your name there. <3 — It's dot com 17:53, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
- Whoa, dude! My first new message in one year minus eight and a half hours! Great to hear from you. Yeah, seems like protecting stuff is my only specialty now. It's all I have time for; I've been living and breathing meteorology and other academia for a while. The payoff is not too far away either. I've applied to the National Weather Service for a summer internship, which might possibly lead into a job. We'll see. I'll hop on IRC someday and we'll catch up more.
