This article is about real-world interviews. For the Strong Bad Email, see interview. For the short, see The Interview.

Interviews and public appearances featuring the Brothers Chaps have been held to variously discuss Homestar Runner, meet with fans, and promote new games and ventures.

Most interviews have taken place online, either in written form with fan or professional publications, or through podcast discussions; occasional interviews have taken place in traditional media in print, on TV, and on the radio. Live appearances have been made at colleges, theaters, conventions, and other venues — taking the form of formal presentations, question-and-answer sessions, comedic musical performances, and more. Mike and Matt typically are interviewed together, though infrequently only one brother is the subject of an interview; the Brothers Chaps may also be joined by other contributors or answer questions in-character.

Interviews and presentations typically cover one or more of these recurring topics:

  • Production — The brothers frequently discuss their writing, recording, and animation process for toons, as well as their creative and comedic influences. Occasional interviews also focus on their use of technology, particularly Flash; in the late 2010s, this topic saw renewed interest with the imminent discontinuation of Flash.
  • Exclusive screenings — Screenings regularly feature popular toons, but also share in-progress works or yet-to-be-released features (DVD-exclusive videos were often shown at events prior to the DVD releases). Several videos shown at events have never received an official release online or on DVD.
  • History — Beginning in 2014, many interviews began to retrospectively cover the entirety of Homestar Runner, with particular focus on the early-10s hiatus and the brothers' shift to a more casual schedule as well as their various side projects.
