HRWiki:Featured article for 2006, week 11 (Mar 13-19)

Okay, next character would probably fit in well here. But the question is, which character's next in line? I'm thinking either Marzipan or The Cheat, leaning towards Marzie. Thunderbird 04:43, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
Let's let many of these sit red for a while. I don't want to work too far ahead. Let's put FAS to rest for a coupla weeks. —BazookaJoe 12:19, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, that's why I didn't start by suggesting something for each week. I think keeping the links red until about a month or so before is good, getting too far ahead is no good. But I don't see any problem if users want to throw out ideas or anything before then, just as long as all the links stay red until mid-Febuary. Thunderbird 00:25, 27 January 2006 (UTC)
It's about mid-February right now, so I think we better start deciding again. Something I really want to see get featured soon is The Geddup Noise. I added 2 paragraphs to it, and it really deserves to be featured. Has Matt? (talk) 15:42, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
I was on the school librery today browsing this page and several other and said to my self "The Geddy page is long, nice... It should be feaured!" Alot of work was put into that page (as seen from the long tables on the talk page) and it's also little known. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 17:41, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
I'd agree to the Geddup Noise, especially now that the list on the talk page is completed. --DorianGray
I never even though of Geddup noise. Sounds like a good idea. Thunderbird 00:16, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
Let's get up Geddup! LePorello / T / C 00:24, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
Very nice article. —BazookaJoe 23:16, 26 February 2006 (UTC)
Since we're almost at week 11, can someone make an article? Geddy has definitely won out. LePorello / T / C 23:19, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2006, week 12 (Mar 20-26)

Pushing back Trogdor and TROGDOR!? I can't find any new information to be added on those pages (Mainly because I did most of the work on Trogdor... Teehee) Elcool (talk)(contribs) 17:47, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
I agree, Trogdor (either the game or the character, I don't really care) was my second choice for featured article. If anyone has the DVD and sees anything that can be added to Trogdor, speak now or forever hold your peace. Whatever that means. Has Matt? (talk) 18:10, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
I'd like to see Trogdor featured soon, but I'd also like to see one of the main characters featured sometime in the month of March. Perhaps move the Trogodor feature to week 13 or 14? Thunderbird 00:26, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
Waitaminute! Didn't we all agree to to have a main cherecter every this-an'-that amount oe weeks? Elcool (talk)(contribs) 05:06, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
Yup, 12 characters for 12 (Gregorian) months was my plan. Which means March is still in need of the character next in line, probably The Cheat or Marzipan. Any opinion between the two? Thunderbird 05:11, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
I think we ought to do them in the order they debuted...debued...um, made their debut. Since he was in the original book, I say The Cheat.; — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 05:24, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
Well the problem with that idea is that we've already skipped over Pom Pom then. According to the cast list here, he should have been second. In any case, I wouldn't mind seeing The Cheat come next. I would suggest us going by how the Characters page is ordered. Since it's ordered in general order of "when they were made/how integral to the plot they are", If we deviate from it, then we may as well change that order to match the order we put them in here. Thunderbird 05:31, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
So, no matter what, Homsar will be the last one, right? --DorianGray
I would think the last three would obviously be The King of Town, The Poopsmith, and Homsar, yes. The middle 7 characters are the iffy ones. Thunderbird 05:39, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
I consider Homestar, Strong Bad, Pom Pom, and The Cheat to have debuted simultaneously, since it was the same work [of literature] for all of them. so we haven't skipped anybody. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 07:14, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
Alright, I'm gonna go with Pom Pom, then The Cheat next, unless anybody disagrees. Thunderbird 05:53, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
Nope, that's fine here. --DorianGray

HRWiki:Featured article for 2006, week 13 (Mar 27-Apr 2)

A Jumping Jack Contest, perhaps? —BazookaJoe 23:16, 26 February 2006 (UTC)
What's so special about that toon? Other that is was removed. We already featured and much more popular removed toon once. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 15:02, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
Ooh, ooh. An idea. Since Trogdor will probably be next week, why not Stinkoman? He was introduced in the email before Trogdor was. LePorello / T / C 00:03, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
Something else other than a character. It would be a PseudoCharacter + 4 characters in a row if this were Stinkoman. —BazookaJoe 00:14, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
Ok, what about Toons or Toons Menu? Preferably Toons. LePorello / T / C 00:18, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
I like the menu idea. What about an older, abandoned menu? There's many many to choose from, listed in Secret Pages#Old Navigation... Thunderbird 01:19, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
Yearbook Character Page. Some of the newer fans aren't familiar with it. Could use a "what happened since" section (With a better name ofcourse). Elcool (talk)(contribs) 06:44, 13 March 2006 (UTC)
Good choice. Plus it's got that Homestar Quiz interesting tie-in. Thunderbird 06:46, 13 March 2006 (UTC)
Ooh, I likes that idea. LePorello / T / C 02:48, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
Looks a lot better now with the blockquotes. Yearbook Character Page, rock, rock on! Has Matt? (talk) 02:56, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

I'm not very good at making openings for articles (It took me 20 minutes to write the one for Strong Bad Email Statistics), so if anyone is willing to make one for he Yearbook, it would be great. We only got less then a week. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 13:46, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2006, week 14 (Apr 3-9)

Perhaps feature of the Trogdor articles here? Thunderbird 00:27, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

I'd say yes. Trogdor is a huge part of the site, and has branched out in many ways. Keep for sure. — Seriously (Talk) 03:44, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
Go BURNiNATOR! LePorello / T / C 03:45, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
And the article comes... In the night! Elcool (talk)(contribs) 13:48, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2006, week 15 (Apr 10-16)

Maybe put The Cheat or Marzipan in here, depending on who wasn't featured last month? Thunderbird 04:44, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
Pom Pom?— User:ACupOfCoffee@ 07:15, 27 February 2006 (UTC) I'm going with The Cheat now, too. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 03:20, 9 March 2006 (UTC)
I vote The Cheat. LePorello / T / C 00:07, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
Totally. The chort is a sure bet—wait, which one? The user, or the character? ;) — Seriously (Talk) 03:45, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
The Cheat came before Marzi. Go with the cheese, or the envil. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 13:49, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
Kinda late now, but Teh C. sounds awesome. Has Matt? (talk) 13:55, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2006, week 16 (Apr 17-23)

I'm thinking Batman would be a great pick, becuase of how many appearances it's had. — Seriously (Talk) 01:27, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

Needs a bit more background, like why they love Batman so much and some quotes from interviews. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 15:01, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
I think it's awesome. Definitely a good article. Does anyone else object? — Seriously (Talk) 03:46, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
I trust Elcool's evaluation. We can probably come up with something else for now. Since there's so many options, nowadays if there's just one serious objection, it's enough to move on. Thunderbird 04:20, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

Well... Flashforward 2006 Seattle - 28 Feb 2006. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 13:51, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

I agree. Flashforward is a dynomite page! It would be pretty cool seeing TBird's name on the Main Page. Has Matt? (talk) 13:58, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

I'm thinking mabye Store or 20X6? --Dacheatbot · Communicate 01:48, 27 March 2006 (UTC)

Both have already been featured. Besides, Store still needs a bit more cleaning up. Has Matt? (talk) 14:04, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
What about Strong Bad's Basement? --Dacheatbot · Communicate 16:33, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
That article needs a bit more info. Currently, my vote is Flashforward. Very full (Good job TBird!) and an interesting article. We'd better be's hurrying up; there's less than a week left. LePorello / T / C 10:33, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
Now we need one of the pics. LePorello / T / C 18:12, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
How 'bout this one? --Dacheatbot · Communicate 18:16, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
Perfect. LePorello / T / C 18:18, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2006, week 17 (Apr 24-30)

How 'bout Lack of Visible Arms? It's a great article about an interesting subject. There are also enough links in there to keep anyone busy for a week. — wikisig.gif Joey (talk·edits) 23:29, 8 March 2006 (UTC)

This and How Do You Type With Boxing Gloves On? are great articles. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 06:31, 9 March 2006 (UTC)
I'm leaning toward Lack of Visible Arms on this one. It seems more organized than Boxing Gloves. Has Matt? (talk) 06:46, 9 March 2006 (UTC)
I agree with Joey. Lack of visible arms is a great idea. — Seriously (Talk) 03:40, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
LoVA gets my vote. LePorello / T / C 03:41, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2006, week 18 (May 1-7)

Bluebry muffin suggested it, me and Lapper fixed it, and now I think it would be a decent feature choice. How does everybody feel about Strong Badman? Thunderbird 04:05, 9 March 2006 (UTC)
I likes that idea. LePorello / T / C 13:22, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
I don't know. It just seems a bit too short for my tastes. Has Matt? (talk) 04:24, 12 March 2006 (UTC)
It's got more than enough appearances. I say let's keep it. — Seriously (Talk) 04:26, 12 March 2006 (UTC)
I suggested it (did I?), you know I like it. Bluebry 04:31, 12 March 2006 (UTC)
A better, longer article: Blue Laser Commander. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 16:21, 16 March 2006 (UTC)
Re: Blubry, yup, you suggested it. Thunderbird 03:12, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

Blue Laser Commander? That sounds okay. Any objections? Thunderbird 17:56, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

Either is OK in my lookings. LePorello / T / C 18:11, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
It kinda seems strange to me that all that info on the Commander's page and not on Blue Laser's page, which I feel needs to be greatly expanded. Most of the Commander's article details plot summary that would fit better on Blue Laser. If we can move the necessary info from Blue Laser Commander to Blue Laser, maybe Blue Laser can be a featured article. Has Matt? (talk) 04:14, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
We's better reach something quick; there's less than a week left. LePorello / T / C 10:32, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
Let's start with the computers: Tandy 400 first. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 11:06, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
Tandy's already been featured, and the computers have been suggested below. I say Blue Laser/Blue Laser Commander. We's better hurry; less than two days left! LePorello / T / C 10:34, 29 April 2006 (UTC)

Both Strong Badman and BL Commander seem to be evenly appreciated for FA. With less than 24 hours before this goes live, I am going to choose BL Commander to be the FA, on grounds that Strong Badman has been featured in alternate universe a few weeks ago and is his spotlight is getting old. (I bet now that BL Commander is FA, there will be a Cheat Commandos toon on Monday.) :) —BazookaJoe 00:19, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

Uh... Now that all the major stuff have been moved to Blue Laser, I'm changeing it to that article. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 06:13, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2006, week 19 (May 8-14)

Another character would probably fit somewhere around here. Should we go by who was created first, or who's used more? 'Cause I'm thinking either Bubs or Strong Mad next, leaning towards Graw Mad. (Or maybe Strong Sad) Thunderbird 04:47, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
Definitely Bubs, I'm thinking. He is on the ball. — Seriously (Talk) 03:42, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
Strong Mad. Came earlier than Buh-hubs (MLS vs. AJJC). LePorello / T / C 03:53, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
Wrong. Where My Hat Is At? Elcool (talk)(contribs) 13:56, 27 March 2006 (UTC)

Come to think of it, Marzipan is probably a bit more central of a character than Bubs. Perhaps feature her this month, and leave Bubs to June or July? Thunderbird 17:58, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

Marzi soundeth good. LePorello / T / C 18:11, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
So is it Marzi then? --Dacheatbot · Communicate 00:37, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

Is it just me or is this article huge?--Dacheatbot · Communicate 23:53, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

It is huge. TBird pointed out in his edit summary that it needs trimming; we have a week to do it. Heimstern Läufer 23:58, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
The second paragraph which talks about the Marzipan and Homestar relationship should be trimmed or even removed completely. I might trim it later if no one else does in the next 6 hours. —BazookaJoe 15:22, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
Maybe (like Wikipedia does) we could put up the intro of the article, cut it off at the point where the two columns on the main page are about the same length (but of course only at the end of a sentence), and then "(continued...)" at the end. That would pretty much ensure we'd never have to have a discussion about trimming the main page blurb again. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 18:34, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
I like that idea. Occasionally that won't work for articles that aren't really in paragraph form, and we make up original summaries for. But for articles such as character pages, etc, I think that's a good idea. Thunderbird 20:35, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
What happened wasn't quite what (at least I thought) I was talking about. I meant that the "continued" part would let us get away with cutting it off in the middle of a paragraph by enough that we would be able to avoid having to do this and this. It is a little long, but it's not ridiculously long, or anything, so I guess it's really just an annoyance. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 03:31, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

How about the Big Knife. NO!!! PLEASE... DON'T SHOOT!!! Tampo (T/C) AND SOMEONE GET THiS FREAKiN CURSOR AWAY FROM ME!!!!! 03:03, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

Yeah. That would be cool. NO!!! PLEASE... DON'T SHOOT!!! Tampo (T/C) AND SOMEONE GET THiS FREAKiN CURSOR AWAY FROM ME!!!!! 10:17pm March 18, 2006 (Eastern time)
Agreed! NO!!! PLEASE... DON'T SHOOT!!! Tampo (T/C) AND SOMEONE GET THiS FREAKiN CURSOR AWAY FROM ME!!!!! 10:27pm March 18, 2006 (Eastern time)
Yes. Once. LePorello / T / C 03:07, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
Whatev. (Yes) Bluebry 03:08, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
I guess so. It doesn't really seem like that big of a thing, but I guess it would be pretty cool. — Seriously (Talk) 03:43, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
Should use a gallery. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 05:17, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
Okay. Big knife it is. NO!!! PLEASE... DON'T SHOOT!!! Tampo (T/C) AND SOMEONE GET THiS FREAKiN CURSOR AWAY FROM ME!!!!! 13:44, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
Sounds like a plan. NO!!! PLEASE... DON'T SHOOT!!! Tampo (T/C) AND SOMEONE GET THiS FREAKiN CURSOR AWAY FROM ME!!!!! 8:50am March 19,2006 (Eastern Time)
I dunno, it seems like a pretty short and uninteresting article. Thunderbird 16:28, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, and with the debates currently going on, we can't feature this until we reach a final concensus. Has Matt? (talk) 04:16, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

What about the Compy 386? LePorello / T / C 17:38, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

We haven't had a computer in a while but I think we should have The Lappy--Dacheatbot · Communicate 00:06, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
Compy came before the Lappy, though. I vote for a spectacle of graphics and sound. LePorello / T / C 22:30, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
I still think we should do the big knife. NO!!! PLEASE... DON'T SHOOT!!! Tampo (T/C) AND SOMEONE GET THiS FREAKiN CURSOR AWAY FROM ME!!!!! 22:38, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

The Compy 386 is a fine article, and should be featured. Save the Lappy for another time. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 14:18, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

HRWiki: Featured article for 2006, week 21 (May 22-29)

How about Crapfully Yours? Seems like a sure bet to me. — Seriously (Talk) 03:50, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

I want something other than a character or a gag. I watched Cool Things today... I forgot how awexome that toon really is. We should make a synopsis of it and make it the FA (and super-duper fix-up the article to make it an excellent representative article). —BazookaJoe 03:58, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
I concur its awexomeness, but should it really be a FA so soon? LePorello / T / C 04:06, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
Sure, everybody's forgotten about it by now. —BazookaJoe 04:24, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
You've got a great point. I love Cool Things too. 61.3-38.7 in favor. Full decision later. LePorello / T / C 04:27, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
Either Cool Things or Bug In Mouth Disease. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 04:44, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
I'm thinking maybe a computer such as The Compy or The Lappy. Neither have been a featured article. --Dacheatbot · Communicate 03:29, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
I suggest we feature the Compy the previous week and one of the two suggested toons this week. LePorello / T / C 12:41, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
I say we do a sbemail. We haven't done one in a really long time. · · T2|Things 00:11, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
We've never done a SBEmail as a feature. I do like Cool Things. LePorello / T / C 22:32, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
Although both toons are pretty kick-awesome, I happen to like Bug in Mouth Disease a tiny bit more than Cool Things. Just a personal decision. Has Matt? (talk) 22:37, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
If we are definitely going for one of the toons, then I have to say Cool Things. Otherwise, we should do the Compy. · · T2|Things 22:53, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
That's two for Cool Things, and two for Bug in Mouth Disease. We're getting behind again, so we need to pick one soon. ACupOfCoffee (Talk | contribs) 15:26, 9 May 2006 (UTC) (left unsigned)

I'm in favor of one of the big toons, but perhaps a slightly older one rather than a recent toon? Perhaps The Reddest Radish, or one of the other underdogs? Thunderbird 20:33, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

If not a new one, then A Jorb Well Done would be my vote. LePorello / T / C 21:03, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
