[edit] Prior Arrest

When Strong Bad mentions having to do community service for a prior arrest, it is likely a reference to the Strong Bad is in Jail Cartoon.

Arguments for:

  • Well, what else could it be? I mean, that was the only time he was punished for being himself.
  • OK, maybe he was there just until he was sentenced to community service.

Arguments against:

  • He was sent to jail for that. If they haven't placed him back in jail, then they are ignoring the attempted theft and jailbreak.
  • I always thought that he just made that up to be funny
  • That's just the only time we know he was arrested. He could have been arrested other times.
    • Wouldn't he still go back to jail for jailbreak in this other time he was arrested?
      • Not if his sentence was commuted to community service.

Additional comments:

  • I always thought this was a given. He was probably paroled and given community service.
    • This is completely off the subject, but I just wanted to point out that until recently the vote was divided evenly between plainsigs and fancysigs.
      • {Elcool looks at his own sig-typing hands in agony} What have I done?
        • Elcool and Mycroft Holmes should switch places!
  • Regarding the arguments against (and especially the third one): Isn't the simplest (and therefore the most likely) explanation that the line refers to the one time that we do know about?
    • It's still complete speculation.
      • It may be speculation, but speculation per se is not bad, and if enough people find it reasonable then speculation can be and is added to articles. So the question is whether this speculation is reasonable. Strong Bad mentions a prior arrest, and I have seen him be arrested in exactly one toon. It doesn't seem like that big of a stretch to me.
  • Wasn't this on the page before, or is it just me?

[edit] Mr. Strong vs. Mr. Bad

Although Strong Bad, Strong Mad and Strong Sad are brothers, and presumably share the family name "Strong" (aka Asian practice), the snailmail is addressed to "Mr. Bad". While this clearly makes the adressee unambiguous, it is an incorrect form of address.

From: other days
Posted on: 23:21, 18 February 2006 (UTC)

Arguments for:

  • If "Strong" is the family name, then addressing mail to "Mr. Bad" is like addressing to "Mr. Billy".
  • The brothers are usually referred to as "The Brothers Strong". "Strong" is clearly the family name.

Arguments against:

  • He's been referred to as "Mr. Bad" before, in credit card.
  • He's a cartoon character. Naming conventions don't necessarily apply to him.
  • It could simply be an error on the part of the sender, assuming the 1st name is the given name and the 2nd name the family name - even if it is Bubs.

Additional comments:

  • We know it's an error, that's what the fact says.
    • Which doesn't make it any more valid.

[edit] Cut-off-your-canteloupe style

Bubs' collections agency letter is sent in retaliation for Strong Bad's collections agency prank in lackey.

From: other days
Posted on: 20:15, 13 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Arguments for:

Arguments against:

  • There's nothing connecting these events, except references to a (different) collections agency.
  • It's very possible that Strong Bad simply bought items on credit and never payed for them.
