Several mentions of penguins have been made in the Homestar Runner universe.

• Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 10.2 — Marzipan presents an "abstract thought" in her outgoing message: "Is a penguin a bird or a duck?"
• Experimental Film — A penguin sticks its head up out of the water in the scene with the ice shelf and the igloo.
• Homestar Ruiner Teen Girl Squad — A robotic penguin kills The Ugly One for sneaking a candy bar past concession stand security, eats the candy bar, chokes to death, and is then confused for a duck by the mayor (but the penguin still corrects him).
  • A fan recreation of this scene was featured in Fan 'Stumes 2023, in which Strong Bad recites the mayor's exchange with the penguin.
• 8-Bit is Enough — The Videlectrix Halfathlon includes penguins that Strong Bad has to jump on top of to get to the next section of obstacles.
• 4 Gregs — There is a penguin on the lid of Open Source Greg's box of food.
• @StrongBadActual tweet (22 Apr 2016) — Strong Bad posted a picture of his head as a penguin, and later another picture of "MY HEAD A SPENGUIN". Both the Strong Bad and the Vector Strong Bad pictures were later animated. Finally, the Strong Bad penguin is eaten by an elephant seal version of Strong Sad.
