[edit] Language

Hi. You're free to clear your Talk page, but the use of inappropriate language on a Talk page isn't permitted. See HRW:TALK for more info on talk pages. Thanks! Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 21:50, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Tags on your userpage

Hi, i noticed that you have a lot of tags such as {{stub}} and {{cleanup}} on your userpage. It's usually fine to have things that LOOK like those templates, but the problem is that now your page is appearing in many of the important categories that the community monitors. Please remove the tags, or if you still want them there but are unsure of how to make it look like they're there without including the category, feel free to ask me for help. Talk atcha later! — Defender1031*Talk 21:38, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

Okay, man. I have no idea how to change these templet things. I didn't think they were killing anyone. Thanks 4 the info ;)
Yup, DeFender's right — I went ahead and removed them to take your page out of the mainspace categories. As he said, you're welcome to put boxes that look like these templates on your user page as long as they don't include the categories. Best, Trey56 21:43, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
Okay, i put them there without the categories for you. — Defender1031*Talk 21:49, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
Thanks, man. I have no idea on how to do dat stuff. Plus I never wrote these down =S
No problem, also, we generally tend to keep discussions in one place, like i did here, and if you put 4 tildas after a talk post (~~~~) you'll put your name and a link to your page with a timestamp. It helps keep track of who said what when. Like this right here: — Defender1031*Talk 21:57, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
Actually, they're called tildes. Just wanted to clarify. =] OptimisticFool 23:46, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
I removed some more templates from your user page that were putting your page into categories. Remember, if you're going to put these on your page, make sure to copy and paste the code minus the categories rather than including the templates directly. Best, Trey56 22:49, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Insults

Hey, just to let you know, the wiki standards don't permit this. Please don't throw out insults at other users, even if they don't know what something is, and you do. That's what the wiki is for. DevonM(talk·cont-ribs) 21:44, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Using Show Preview

That one

Hello MichaelXX2, I see that you have made several consecutive edits to the same page. I want to point out the Show Preview button. It's right next to the Save Page button when you edit. You should use it whenever you are making a lot of experimental edits, for example when you are trying to get formatting right. Using the Show Preview button is quicker and easier than saving and clicking "edit" again, and will keep recent changes and page histories from being flooded. Thanks, — Defender1031*Talk 15:38, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

Okay, I'll use it, but I thought it was lame at first.
Ha Ha
  • The DVD version features hidden creators' commentary. To access it, switch your DVD player's audio language selection while watching.
Really, please use Show Preview. All of your edits are just flooding recent changes, which doesn't help anyone. OptimisticFool 16:23, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
I added the image, for your convenience. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 16:26, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Observations

Hey man. A couple things I've got to bring up to you. First, I wanted to say that, looking at your contributions, that you've made some good edits. For example, I think that {{commentary}} is a good idea, and it's great when you clean up errors around the wiki (e.g., [1]).

That said, there are a few things you need to be aware of.

  1. Personal attacks such as [2] are completely unacceptable.
  2. Random testing in articles (e.g. [3]) and moving articles to random titles ([4]) is considered vandalism.
  3. You seriously need to stop including templates with categories on your user page. Right now, for example, your user page is listed among the mainspace pages people see when they want to read articles about SBCG4AP. If you didn't understand my instructions about how to include them on your page without the categories, then you should take them off altogether.

I'm going through the trouble of mentioning these things because I see that you've made some good edits and I'd like to see you contribute positively to the wiki. If you choose to ignore these things, however, please understand that your account may be blocked. Thanks for understanding, Trey56 22:19, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

Hello. I've blocked your account for 1 day to cut short the flooding of recent changes. Trey56 02:16, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Flooding

Please stop flooding recent changes. OptimisticFool 01:52, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

Michael, what you did was disruptive. You repeatedly added and removed the letter P from your user talk page. Such edits can't possibly improve your talk page, and they flood recent changes, something you've been warned in the past not to do. Then, after OptimisticFool rightly warned you, you just kept doing it. That's why Trey56 was right to block you.
If you wish to contribute to our knowledge base, I suggest you follow the advice people give you on your talk page. If you are disruptive again, you can expect to be blocked again for longer. Heimstern Läufer 03:07, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] sig length

Your sig is too long again. — Defender1031*Talk 02:54, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
In addition, there's no reason to have a separate subpage for your halloween sig. please save its data and mark it for deletion. — Defender1031*Talk 02:58, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
Sorry. I'm really going all over the place and I need to finish the sig... I'll put the {tbd} template on stat! MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif
I hope you realize that your pending username change (assuming it gets approved) will really limit you on what you can add to your sig next to your name. Just the name itself
Homestar VS. Yoshi
fits okay, but your "Talk to me" ain't gonna fit .. especially with your image, if you decide to keep it. Something to keep in mind. OptimisticFool 06:08, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
Like DeFender1031, I just plan to have it like this:

Aww-wiiiight! Homestar VS. YoshiTalk

It goes out a bit, but do you think it'll work?

I don't think I'm going to be Homestar VS. Yoshi any time soon :.(..

[edit] Going back to an old version of a page

Easier than undoing all the way back, just hit History, select the version you want to go back to, and then Edit-save that version. Less impact on Recent Changes and easier for you. Just a little tip. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 03:44, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

I tried, but it just said that it couldn't, because of conflicting intermediate edits or something... MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif
That's where you have to note the intermediate conflicts and resolve them. Routine. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 20:42, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
Oh. Thanks! MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif

[edit] Take It Easy

Take it easy, guy. No one is abursing you, there are just some things that aren't done. We're just trying to keep the wiki clean by having appropriate subpages and sig lengths. I really do hope there are no hard feelings.. OptimisticFool 03:45, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

Thanks... I was just felling a little depressed last night. Like I did a few months ago with this. But I'm over it, i just really wish I knew a place where I could get the codes for colors, like #000000 or something. MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif
Try this - or search for hex color. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 20:45, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
Bless all you people. Thank you! MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif

[edit] Talk page edit

Hey there, MichaelXX2. I noticed you recently left a message on User talk:98.227.0.180 that was rather inappropriate. Articles that are up for deletion will be dealt with on a per-article basis, and problems with MediaWiki syntax can be directed to Help:Content. Also, while creating an account gives users an identity, it is by no means required or necessary. Do consider these points in the future. — Lapper (talk) 17:16, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Requesting Name changes

Hi MichaelXX2,

Please understand that HRWiki:Changing username was created as a courtesy by the admins for us wiki users. They are under no obligation to fulfill our requests under any time frame, if at all. Bothering the administrators with constant messages will not speed up the process and will only serve to disrupt the wiki. You should keep this in mind whenever making edits. Whenever your request is looked at, you will get a response. --Stux 20:07, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

In addition, my suggestion to bug more people was sarcastic, and i apologize if you misunderstood and thought that it was the correct way to go about it. — Defender1031*Talk 20:23, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
Oho, no prob, man. I just really want my user name to be Homestar VS. Yoshi, and no one that can change a user name has been in the page for months... Should I just make new account? No, I can't. It's too close to someone's other username blee blah bloo blick bleck... MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 20:26, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
No, creating a new account would be creating what we call a sockpuppet. It's not allowed on this wiki. Also, I believe that it's unlikely that your username will actually be changed, as you are a prolific editor and you are relatively well known as MichaelXX2. Changing your name would probably confuse other editors. But it's not my decision to make, it's just a heads-up. Loafing 21:03, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
The first thing you should do is learn how to be patient. As was previously stated, pestering other users is unlikely to help your case. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 21:25, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Haiku Central

Hey there, MichaelXX2, your page User:MichaelXX2/The Haiku Central does not meet the user space guidelines. Please have a look at the guidelines what is OK and what is not. And please add the {{delete}} template to the page so a sysop can delete it. Thanks, Loafing 22:53, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit] MP3s

MichaelXX2, please stop advertising making mp3s from homestarrunner toons. This does not sound like fair use and is probably not legal. You are also spamming talk pages advertising your services, which is not cool. Post like this one are also not OK. Thanks for understanding. Loafing 17:26, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

I'm sorry. I won't advertise any more, but I will continue my service if I'm asked for an mp3. MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 17:40, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
Please don't do that on the wiki. Loafing 17:48, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
MichaelXX2, when I asked you to not do this on the wiki, I really meant it. Seriously, it's not what the wiki is about, and it might actually get us into trouble. TBC are very lenient with the wiki regarding copyright. We try hard to not only respect their work but also their copyright. A part of this commitment is that we don't extract songs from their toons and make them available online. Again, this wiki aims at documenting the work of TBC. Please remove the links from your user page and support us in our cause. Thank you very much. Loafing 20:32, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
Thanks heaps, dude. Loafing 20:38, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Awesome People

Not trying to sound like snob, but how did I fall off of the table? BBG 21:13, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

I don't think I kicked you off the table... MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 21:14, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
Whoops, I'm sorry! You're back on it. I might have just lost your sig somewhere along the line of adding the table. The only person I've kicked off so far is Dot Com. MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 21:17, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

hey, why don't you watch my talk page so i don't have to keep coming back here every time i want to comment on my cool new sig. good idea? i'm also watching yours so you can change here if you're feelikg lazy (although, if it has to do with me, i want it on my page)

THanks HSB150Homsarstrongbad150Homestar Runner!! 02:25, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

I am watching it. I'm a Recent Changes Patrol Officer. I see everything. And by the way, leave a space in between your post and your sig. It really messed up that time... MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 02:32, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
i saw it and i fixed it. why come it did that?

[edit] Personal images

Hello, Michael. Please note that our personal image policy allows users only two large images plus one sig image, and you currently have four large images: Image:HomestarVS.Yoshiwelcome.png, Image:Homestar_Vs._Yoshi.png, Image:Homestarfish.png and Image:MichaelXX2welcome.png. Therefore, I'll need you to mark two of them for deletion, please. Thanks for your cooperation. Heimstern Läufer 02:41, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for complying so quickly. Carry on, sir. Heimstern Läufer 02:56, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
No problem. I'm an agreeable kind of guy. MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 02:59, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit] User Pages

Hey there, MichaelXX2, as you know, it's not allowed to edit someone else's user page. So please don't do it again without the user asking you to do it. Thank you. Loafing 11:12, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Welcoming

Once again, welcoming a user with a generic message especially one with no contributions to base any personal greeting upon is not helpful. Please refrain from doing this in the future. Wait until someone has a few edits and has developed a personality, and then welcome with something warm, friendly, and specific to them. Thanks. — Defender1031*Talk 19:44, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

You're still doing it. — Defender1031*Talk 01:37, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
Yeah...that's why we introduced the set message itself that automatically appears when a new user shows up to the wiki. Welcomes from other users usually help them out with something they seem to be having trouble with, telling them they're making very good contributions to the wiki, stuff like that. DevonM(talk·cont-ribs) 01:39, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
Whoops. Sorry. MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 01:40, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit] About IDC

Michael, this has gotten a little out of hand. Your constant remarks about It's Dot Com are getting old. You've been whining for a few days now about wanting your username changed, trying to make him or another sysop feel bad for you, and that's just plain ridiculous. He stated clearly that he wasn't going to change your username for a while, and he stands by that. If you really want him to trust you and change your username, you should start making more contributive edits to the wiki, instead of bashing him. On a side note, when you make a post on another article's talk page about something you suggest, its not un-normal for someone to not respond for a day or two. Don't keep editing the page in hopes that someone will catch your edits on the Recent Changes page and respond. Be patient. Thanks, DevonM(talk·cont-ribs) 21:30, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

I'm sorry. I'll start by finishing a transcript of something or something. (That's confusing.) MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 21:32, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit] HRWiki:Youth protection

Hey, as per the above linked page, please remove your email address from your user page. Thanks. — Defender1031*Talk 00:14, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

On second thought, i removed it myself. I still advise you read the above linked page to understand why. thanks. — Defender1031*Talk 00:19, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit] On the contrary

I was not "making fun" of you on IRC. I think you did great work starting off the transcript. I just thought it was a bit funny that when you weren't sure of something, you typed what it sounded like instead of something like {unintelligible} or something. You can't deny that it IS sort of funny, can you? I meant no offense to you, none at all. Please forgive me. — Defender1031*Talk 22:15, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Civility

Hey there, MichaelXX2, please don't call other editors names on your user page or anywhere else on this wiki. Thank you, Loafing 23:50, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

Michael, seriously. I don't want to sound mean, but your acting a bit like a drama queen. You first don't seem to want to respond to any of these people that said they were joking, then you take them off your coolest people list even though you thought they were some of the best users on the wiki before today, what's next? Again, I don't want to sound rude, but please learn to take a joke, or as DorianGray put it "ribbing". DevonM(talk·cont-ribs) 00:40, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
I— don't— care. Leave me alone. MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 00:42, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Invisible comments

Hi there. The reason this edit broke your page is because you're typing "<!-- comment --> {{clear}}" for invisible comments, when all you need is "<!-- comment -->". The "{{clear}}" template does something else entirely, namely, it makes the page text continue only after all images (and userboxes) have been cleared, which is why it sent everything to the bottom of your userboxes. So:

Clear:
A picture
Blah blah blah blah blah...
More blahs after the {{clear}}.
Invisible comment:

Hope that helps. — Defender1031*Talk 05:03, 24 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Hi Debra ;D

[edit] Personal Images

Hi there, MichaelXX2. As you know, you can only have two personal images plus one small signature image. You have three large images. Please tag one for deletion. Thanks. Loafing 22:43, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit] More Civility

I asked you to not call other editors names. You have not removed the insults from your user page, so I have done this for you. Loafing 22:45, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit] hey, hold on a second...

[edit] cropped CZ picture?

Hey there, MichaelXX2. Why did you crop the picture of the new Coach Z design? The other design pictures of Coach Z don't have his feet cut off at the edges. Was it because Marzipan's dress was in the way? And, also, this makes it look pretty big/tall in the Coach Z Evolution table. Religious Corn   20:26, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

no idea what your talking about holy crop, but mike is blocked still, i think, so he couldn't've done it. and i saw the pictures and have no idea what you're talking about. marzy's dress? no feet? i saw neither in that link. so he couldn't have cut that pic for no reason just to annoy you guys. he's not a troll anymore.

.....if i continue this mike'll probably get mad...so..bye. it's too early, so don't hold me responsible for any of this, mikey. i'm stayed up late yesterday.

HSB150Homsarstrongbad150Homestar Runner!! 13:43, 28 November 2008 (UTC)

never mind, we got a decompiled version! Religious Corn   20:17, 28 November 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Stinkocomments

[edit] IPs and Editing

Hey Michael. I was just looking at the Recent Changes page, and noticed that you made a rather rude remark regarding (havin' fun with alliteration) an IP's edits to The Exact Same: "It's not a toon, so leave it alone and just set up an account already". I just want to say that although we usually encourage IPs who edit a lot to join the wiki as a user, its not disallowed for an IP to make very small to very large edits. Plus, if he saw your comment, that probably wouldn't make him feel very welcome here on the wiki. Please don't make comments like these in the future. Thanks, DevonM(talk·cont-ribs) 07:31, 7 December 2008 (UTC)

You've been making rude remarks all day, actually. Calling perfectly good edits vandalism and reverting them, and similar. Aside from the fact that the majority of your reversions were of sound edits and hence needed to then be de-reverted by someone else, vandalism is deliberate messing up of page text. Things like removing information, or adding nonsense or swears. Thus a edit made with good intentions, even if it's not deemed neccesary for the page, is not vandalism. On the flip side, most of your reversions are vandalism in and of themselves. Your reversion of the addition of the word "nude" to the Dangeresque 3 Smoky Office Responses page is the perfect example - Coach Z does say the word "nude" in the game, and its omission from the page was in error. Take care to assess edits for good faith and sound content before reverting, and don't call things vandalism if they're not. --Belthazar 10:39, 7 December 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Sig editing

Sorry I'm posting on here a lot, but I just saw that you deleted part of Ninja Pom Pom's sig because "It was too long and he won't comply, so I guess I have to do everything for him", and when I look at what you posted on his talk page...you gave him 16 minutes to change it. It would probably have been better for you to let him edit his sig. Thanks, DevonM(talk·cont-ribs) 22:29, 7 December 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Personal Images

Hello MichaelXX2, I've noticed that you have three personal images (Image:MichaelXX2sig.jpg, Image:MichaelXX2welcome.png, and Image:Homestarfish.png). Please mark one of them for deletion. MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 21:58, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for complying. MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 22:03, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Hold the horses

Hey Michael, this edit is taking it too far. Yes, he is not using show preview enough, but 8 or so edits are not flooding recent changes. There is no need to be this aggressive in your language, and there is no need to call him a liar. Maybe he would have had 38 edits if he hadn't used recent changes. So please take a step back and take a deep breath before even considering posting on someone's talk page. In general, you should tone down your voice a little and change your attitude. I see you have been told off by It's dot com for trying to police the wiki before. I also see that you have been blocked from editing three times. You should work on yourself before trying to tell other editors how to behave. Please think about it and concentrate on contributing to the wiki rather than trying to police it. Thank you. Loafing 00:25, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Vandals and templates

Thanks for putting up warning on vandals. However, you might want to start using the Template:test and Template:blockwarning instead of writing your own. That way, it's standardized and gives a little more info. wbwolf (t | ed) 16:09, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the information. I'll be sure to use those instead next time. MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 14:02, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
I suggest you not usd them at all, as Dot COm has asked you in the past not to police the wiki. — Defender1031*Talk 14:38, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Other users' userspace

Thank you for your concern in keeping Homsarstrongbad150's talk page organized. However, such edits as these ([6], [7], [8]) are not yours to make. — Lapper (talk) 18:09, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

But he wanted me to archive his talk when it got to the count of 20, so I did. MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 03:06, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
i did ask him to because i have no idea how to. so, mike, if you please, archive the top 20. HSB150Homsarstrongbad150Homestar Runner!! 20:46, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Pipes and redirects

When i said that pipes are ugly and redirects are preferred, it meant in cases where said redirect already exists and makes sense. Not cases where you're going to create a redirect just for the sake of removing a pipe. In cases where the text is totally different from the link, pipes are best. What you just did, creating a redirect for girlfriend to strong bad's ladies to remove the pipe from that page, doesn't work. If someone is searching the wiki for "girlfriend" they're not necessarily gonna want Strong Bad's Ladies. Further, there could be a different page somewhere where "girlfriend" actually links to POM POM'S girls. So, let's recap. [edit] Policing

Once again, you are still policing the wiki, despite having been asked by It's Dot Com to stop. So I'm saying it again, please stop policing. Thank you. — Defender1031*Talk 02:11, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

Leave me alone. I can simply tell the person not to do it! MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 02:21, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
No, i think you missed the definition of policing. It means enforcing policy. You are exceptional at fixing photos and making constructive edits to the knowledge base, but are slightly lacking in the area of diplomacy. Would it be all that terrible for you to leave the policing to those who are experienced in diplomacy, and focus more on just your editing and photo fixing? — Defender1031*Talk 02:28, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
See, we're all good at different stuff. And we're all not good at different stuff. And the one thing we're focusing on that you're not good at is policing the wiki. Mind you, you're good at a lot of stuff, and for that we're real glad. But this, not so much. All we ask is that you lay back in those areas where you aren't so skilled and go on ahead where your skills are what's best for the wiki. There's a reason I don't do any graphics work here, and partly it's that DeFender (or others) would tell me (rightly) that I suck. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 02:36, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
Aw, thanks. I get the picture now. MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 03:27, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
Michael, please never do anything like this again. If you think a user is a sockpuppet, you need to present evidence. Furthermore, definitely do not make the comment on the suspected sock's talk page; inform a sysop instead. If it turns out you're wrong, that user has that in their talk history. This is exactly why we're asking you not to police the wiki. Your communication with others leaves a great deal to be desired at this point. Heimstern Läufer 05:59, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
Michael, we have warned you repeatedly not to police the wiki, and this is why. You simply don't have the knack for it yet. You are more than welcome to improve articles in the main namespace, but if you continue to try and enforce policy then I'm going to block you. — It's dot com 17:13, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Very large pictures?

Excuse me, MichaelXX2, but (I might be wrong) I feel that some of the images that you have recently uploaded are unnecessarily large in visual image size and in file size. I mean, most of the images will only be seen as 180-pixel sized thumbnails. So... I mean, I'm just wondering, I'm not completely sure (I'm a wishy-washy person (who likes nested parentheses)), if you could just... give me a reason for them to be large... ... that would be nice. — fuchsiania 03:10, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

The larger they are, mind you, the less likely they will to be stretched to a point in which they're pixellated and look all horrible. Yes, they're big, but they could be a lot bigger if I didn't post them in Paint and use Picture Manager to crop them. In other words, it's big and in higher quality, so it's never going to be stretched beyond its file size. There. MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 03:14, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
Oh, okay! Thanks, MichaelXX2! — fuchsiania 00:28, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

[edit] More like British spelling!

This is very minor, but in your bottom 10, where you mention that you don't like those "unnecessary U's", those are actually the British spelling of words. For example, "favourite", "lorry", "kerb", "grey", "tyre", and "encyclopaedia" are British spellings. — fuchsiania 00:35, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image edits

Heylo, MichaelXX2. Good jorb on touching up those pictures! :-) Just make sure you're not going overboard. For example, here, the "strange smudge thing" was actually his armpit, and here, the "blue speck" was actually a bit of the sky. ;-) Loafing 08:15, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Policing again

You've been asked before not to police. I'm going to extend that to include reverting sysops who are themselves enforcing the rules. Please don't do it again. — Defender1031*Talk 07:35, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Dot com has reverted users who have reverted their own talk page before, Danny. MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 08:21, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
I fail to see how this is relevant, MichaelXX2. You have been warned not to police the wiki because it is something that you get wrong too often. And here, you got it wrong again. Even reverting a perfectly good edit by a sysop. As the link to your talk page archive shows, you have even been warned that you might be blocked. I have to tell you that this is not an empty threat. Please stop policing the wiki or you will be blocked from editing. Policing the wiki includes for example telling other users that they did something wrong or even warning them, and reverting any edit by another user. Loafing 08:36, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
I meant Dot com has reverted a sysop in the past who has reverted a person who vandalized/spammed their own talk page before. I was going for that edit. No offense, but I feel like I'm getting a nail driven through my head. MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 08:54, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
At least I'm not going crazy and swearing and saying I'm not doing anything wrong and stuff. I'll try to set boundaries for policing just as a dog would to an invisible electric fence. MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 09:00, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
Not that it changes much, but I am curious to know when and where this edit of Dot com's is. Would you be able to provide a link to the diff you're referring to? — Defender1031*Talk 09:03, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

First of all, they didn't make up some dumb thing to ban me about. They had a good reason. I was telling other users that they did something wrong, but I wasn't putting it in correct terms. They had all the reason in the world to block me for that time and I don't have any complaints. Try to understand your uppers, Homsarstrongbad150. MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 21:26, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
I'm glad you understand why you were blocked. But it appears you're still not getting it: This is also policing. Since it doesn't seem to be sinking in, I'm going to put it in bold: do not attempt to enforce policy. Ask a sysop to help if you really must. If you continue, I think it's fair to say you're going to get blocked again. Take this as a warning. Heimstern Läufer 05:42, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

[edit] OK

Not that i've seen. I've never posted a question and had a video tutorial on youtube about it within the hour. And about the subject, that wasn't exactly what I meant, but it was a really good idea! I think I might do it while i'm waiting around for It's Dot Com to design a blockquote class, if he does it at all. - Opus the Penguin 02:32, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

Hey Michael, what was the program you used to whiten the background in the Twelve Times a Day Man image? Was it just MS Paint? - Opus the Penguin 03:11, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, it was Paint. Why? MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 11:52, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
Just wondering. I've tried doing that before, but I always end up screwing up the outline. Any tips? - Opus the Penguin 02:09, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Image Summaries

Hey there, i wasn't sure if you were aware, but the first time an image is uploaded, the upload summary becomes the text on the image page, so when uploading new images, you may want to write a better description than things like "An image. You'll see its use.". I personally usually write something like "description of picture with [[necessary things linked]], from [[name of toon]]". It's descriptive and looks a lot nicer. — Defender1031*Talk 21:53, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Hrmail and Hrmails

Hello, um, I'm the person who made the hrmail and hrmails pages. I realize that some people may accidently misspell the word HRemail, either by typing in hrmail or hremails, all lower-case, so, as to make it easier for people to go around the wiki, I wanted to make redirects, so people who searched for hrmail or hrmails would go to the HRemail page.

I hope you understand, I guess. I want to know, what does "redirect will pipe itself" mean?--72.208.76.124 22:22, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

It means that if you search or link with all lowercase letters, it will automatically find the correct case if both pages aren't separate. I don't think hrmail would work like that, but it would be pretty unusual to make that mistake. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 00:13, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Using Bold in Image Summaries

Hey, thanks for helping us out with the ongoing Image Summary Cleanup. Listen, I need to talk to you something I was contacted about by Defender1031 on my talk page here. Apparently, there's no need whatsoever to use bold tags in the image summaries, as there are no standards nor consistancy with them. Do you suppose we should adapt your from template by removing the bold tags there, as we might end up with weird autoformatting like this? What I'm saying is if one of us is adding bold tags and the other is removing them, that kind of defeats the purpose of an image summary cleanup, so we need to come to an agreement over this issue. – The Chort 21:09, 7 March 2009 (UTC)

I think the bold tags are needed because then you pay more attention to it. MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif
Another question. Is that from template even that useful? You still need to type in the item's/character's name, maybe a piped link and link to the toon where the image came from. Is it really so hard to type "The Poopsmith (from disconnected)"? Do we really need a template to do this simple task, possibly making things a bit more complicated in the process? – The Chort 21:16, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
I thought it was useful to get the formatting right for templates. If we ever want to change what the edit summaries look like, it would be a matter of changing one page instead of hundreds. MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 21:25, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
But now that I look at it, it really puts the edit summaries in a box. I think it's unneeded. MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 21:26, 7 March 2009 (UTC)

Well, the less piped links, the more space we save. It's Dot Com has also made various modifications so that piping isn't needed. I used to be a little bit more case-sensitive with this wiki than I should have; I'd pipe things a lot, but I was discouraged from doing it at one point. [edit] Block warning

I know it's a little pointless to warn you, since you're obviously trying to be blocked. Still, putting that you hate anyone is not appropriate for your user page. Please do not do it again. — It's dot com 00:01, 15 September 2010 (UTC)

Since when were you not considering blocking me? You said on IRC you were going to, which makes PERFECT sense because the two are completely related, right? MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 00:05, 15 September 2010 (UTC)
On IRC, I warned you about what you were doing on IRC. Here I'm warning you about what you're doing on the wiki. If I wasn't considering not blocking you, you would already have been blocked. — It's dot com 00:11, 15 September 2010 (UTC)
Fascinating. Funny how you said you'd block my wiki account from my behavior on IRC. And don't try to deny this, I have a log of you explicitly saying "wiki account." Now, IRC isn't related to this wiki, and making it seem so will be a perfect example of abuse of your powers. This conversation is over (unless you have something else to say, I probably won't respond to it) and you can go back to doing whatever you were doing. Good day, sir. MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 00:14, 15 September 2010 (UTC)
content language in the following discussion
I never denied that. In fact, I nearly posted the warning in my previous post instead of just saying "I warned you about what you were doing on IRC." The warning I gave you on IRC was "this is your warning that if you keep attempting to cause disruption on IRC, I'll block your wiki account". The disruption I was referring to was your going to seemingly random channels and telling whoever is there to join our channels and tell us "all to go to hell." Then you go on to tell them, "Either that or shove a big cock up Dot_com's ass." You say you "don't care about [our] stupid channels anymore," and yet you're inciting people to troll us. You say that "the HRWiki admins are all jackasses" and that we "have no hearts, no souls, no compassion, and my favorite, no humor at all." These same unfunny, uncompassionate admins have been extremely patient with you. Surely you see how wildly inappropriate your behavior is. There are so many times over the years when we could have blocked you indefinitely instead of giving you another chance. I don't know why you're trying to be blocked now. Maybe you want to quit but can't quite bring yourself to do it and need to turn it into a sour grapes situation. I really don't care what the reason is. If you don't want to reply, then fine, don't. If you don't want to edit this wiki ever again, then fine, don't. It's just a wiki about dumb animal characters, and it doesn't matter to me what you choose, except that we're not going to tolerate any more misbehavior from you. — It's dot com 00:53, 15 September 2010 (UTC)

Hm? The signature is showing up fine for me. MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 11:47, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
Imageshack changed it's hotlinking policy so that webmasters that want to hotlink to Imageshack must register their domains to Imageshack so that Imageshack will disable the anti-hotlink block for those domains.
Tom would have to register hrwiki.org on Imageshack so that we users can hotlink off Imageshack. Imageshack is being silly, so I'd just suggest using other image hosts like imgur or Photobucket instead. —Ngamer01 13:35, 22 March 2011 (UTC)

[edit] April 1 is no different than any other day

If you don't already know, that^ is my approach to wiki jokes on this day of the year. Anything the wiki does to celebrate, whether as a whole or individual members, is decidedly normal and not an April Fools' joke. It adds to the flavor. And any response i may make to the wiki celebration is as though nothing is different. in my recent main page talk post, i wasn't referring to your signature when i said that about burning unicorns. in the one earlier this afternoon, i probably was, but not now. Ooookay then. I really don't understand what else you could have meant, but what do I know about making April Fools' day every day?!?!?!?! MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 05:37, 2 April 2011 (UTC)
It means that if it's true, then there's something wrong with my mind. and the wiki had a relatively slow day today, and i guess i'm not ready for it to be over yet. and your signature was the reason i said i was seeing burning unicorns, but not necessarily the direct location that i supposedly saw them. I guess that makes sense. MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 05:46, 2 April 2011 (UTC)
