"Who's faster than Kid Speedy? EVERYBODY!! This little fatso is the slowest poke in the bunch. Try not to get dead last while avoiding sweets and insults in this hilarious arcade-style race 'em up." — Videlectrix

Kid Speedy is a game in which you play the character Kid Speedy, trying to win a race (or, at least, not come in last).

The Game

Instructions

To qualify for the next race, you must finish the four-man race third place or above. By collecting vegetables and happy faces, you make Kid Speedy go faster. Collecting junk food or insults causes Kid Speedy to lose all speed. The game was originally mentioned in the Videlectrix game catalog; it was made available for play on July 10, 2006.

The player can race Kid Speedy on eight different courses: Jelly Woods Fun Run, Cheese Puff Hills, Porkchop Wilds 5K, Egg Mountain Minithon, Probate Flats Walk-a-thon, Indiana, The Loop, and Demon's Rub Marathon. Each track has borders resembling the name (example: Cheese Puff Hills has orange borders).

The game consists of two modes: 1 Player and "Online Play". However, all of the runners, in both modes, are computer controlled. The loading online players screen is just for show.

If you do not finish dead last, you "Qualify". If you lose, you get the message "You Came Dead Last."

Inside References

  • "NEB", a possible opponent in Online Mode, may be a reference to Nebulon.

Real-World References

  • The "Indiana" and "The Loop" levels are likely inspired by the the arcade racing game, Cruis'n USA, which features Chicago and Indiana venues.
  • "Wide Loading" (on the loading screen) is a reference to the "Wide Load" sign which appears on trucks carrying large items. It is also used as a slang term for "fat".
  • On the flash file of Kid Speedy, there are three other runners to the left of the screen and they seem to be wearing colors of flags: Sweden and Germany. The other runner wears white, red, and green. This may be the flag of Burundi, Italy, Algeria, Bulgaria, Hungary, Iran, or Oman. These runners are later seen in the ending.
