The Fighting Growlbacks are the athletics teams at the Teen Girl Squad's school. The "Growlback" is an indeterminate beast with shaggy fur and sharp teeth, somewhat similar to a lion; a rather mangy-looking costumed mascot at sport games is portrayed by Regular Greg. The Growlbacks symbol is a stylized G with fangs, fur, and eyes that evoke the namesake creature. The athletic program has one known coach who seems to be a pushover, as well as a "Spirit Pit".
