{Cut to the four Gregs.}
OPEN SOURCE GREG: Based on past experiences, I believe I am the aforementioned plump kid from that song!
{Cut to an image of Brainkrieg's drummer. He has a decomposing pumpkin splattered onto his head and shoulder.}
BRAINKRIEG DRUMMER: Sadly, you are not.
{The garage door closes with a crash, the screen dims, and "the end." appears in the middle of the screen.}
[edit] Easter Eggs
- Clicking on the period after "the end" brings up a scene where Brainkrieg end their show.
- BRAINKRIEG: Thank you very much! We are BRAINKRIEG! Next up is my mom getting back from book club! {speaking more calmly} So we all need to get out of the way so she can pull in. That tennis ball tells her how far to pull up. So she doesn't hit the trash cans again.
[edit] Fun Facts
[edit] Trivia
- The RSS description of this toon is:
Strong Bad says - Cheerleader's favorite black-wristband wearing high school band Brainkrieg is BACK with their Halloween single 'Decomposing Pumpkins!' Now I know what you're thinking. 'But, Strong Bad, since you DRAW the Teen Girl Squad, doesn't this mean that technically YOU made this song?' And the answer is this: I kinda black out a lot lately and when I wake up sometimes things I made up in my brain come to life. I practically pee my pants every time a Cheat Commandos comes on.
- Cheerleader's shirt says "(s)hallow (t)ween".
- This toon can also be found on the Teen Girl Squad menu under the name "brainkrieg".
- The YouTube description for this toon is "Brainkrieg video about their post-Halloween shenanigans, chicanery, and tom-foolery."
[edit] Remarks
- As they did in their previous video, Brainkrieg mentions Christmas lights instead of Decemberween lights.
- Despite Cheerleader's shirt calling her a shallow tween, this is impossible. Tween is a term for someone below the age of thirteen, and therefore a tween could not be a Teen Girl Squad member.
- As with Brainkrieg's last video, the vector-drawn paper from Teen Girl Squad Episodes 1 through 10 (including the end of Episode 7) is used instead of the photographic paper from Episodes 11 through 15.
[edit] Goofs
- When the bassist looks at Cheerleader during the pause in the song, the wings on the design of his T-shirt suddenly disappear.
- When the toon zooms in on the house in the beginning, the paper background stays static.
- When the solo begins, the paper background moves to the left, and back at the end.
- The text "jugga jigga wug jigga jigga wug jigga wugga jug" moves out of place in various parts of the solo.
[edit] Inside References
- One of the pumpkins has Abraham Lincoln's silhouette on it.
- Eggs feature prominently in this toon.
- The decomposing pumpkin was previously seen in Pumpkin Carve-nival.
- Cheerleader's excitement to be at the Brainkrieg concert is based on an Easter egg from death metal.
- "An apple is not candy!" is a throwback to The House That Gave Sucky Treats where one of the items that can be given to Strong Bad is an apple.
- The guitarist mentions his mother, and by inference, the drummer's mother doesn't give out good candy on Halloween.
- The spoken intro to the song is set to a distorted version of the Sweet Cuppin' Cakes theme song.
- The toon's RSS description addresses Strong Bad's peculiar habit of creating made-up real things. However, Strong Bad did not actually make up Cheat Commandos, as he seems to imply - the franchise was introduced with a pre-existing toyline and cartoon in Cheat Commandos.
[edit] Real-World References
- The Taurus is a line of sedans and station wagons manufactured by Ford from 1986 until 2019. The car in the video resembles a third generation wagon.
- The Brainkrieg logo near the end of the video resembles the Dead Kennedys logo.
- The skull with bat wings on the bassist's shirt resembles the "Death Bat", the logo for the band Avenged Sevenfold.
