[edit] XML
Did anyone notice that you can download and edit the XML files to create new levels? This could be good for the Fanstuff Wiki, if anyone gets it working. --EDSMILDE
- Care to share where they are? :) --AndrewNeo 18:05, 22 Mar 2005 (MST)
Well, I think you have to edit the flash file to get them to work offline first (which is not too hard). They are at:
Those are the ones I found in my temp folder (even though I didn't get to those levels). If you go to View -> Page Source in Firefox, you can kinda figure out how it works (maybe). --EDSMILDE Edit: Darn, the links don't work. They are in some other folder. Once I figure out the folder name, the game will work offline. And they don't show up on Google yet.
Ooh - found it - They're in another folder called "levelData." EDSMILDE
-As a note for other people wanting to edit, you need to get the 5 level files, the main swf, and the object library: [7]. (You can see some game graphics if you view that file)
It's a pretty simple almost-XML format, I'm making a level editor for it now. Travis Wells
- Woah. New enemy in that library. If anything confirms another set of levels coming up, that would. --Shadow Hog 15:07, 23 Mar 2005 (MST)
- Hey, I was just about to make a level editor for it, but it probably won't be very good. EDSMILDE
- Hey, if you decompile the flash file for the game you'll see there is already a level editor in there on the script for sprite 761. Unfortunately I don't know anything about flash, so I don't know what to do with that, or how to get to it, but someone must.
- I'm working on an editor written in VB using the MSXML library. --breadtangle 18:30, 6 Apr 2005 (MDT)
I know all about Flash, but I don't have a decompiler -NonHacka
NOTE: With the release of Stinkoman 20X6 v6, those links have become outdated. The new ones are here. --ENUSY , 16:48, 4 August 2005 (BST)
EDIT: Moved all links to my user page.

I already have a great working editor for this game, a new version has just been released. Check it out here: http://joesarcade.tripod.com/cgi-bin/stinkoedit.cgi
Hey the link above doesn't work anymore! I fixed it, here are some mirrors: http://joesarcade.tripod.com/cgi-bin/stinkoedit.cgi
Can someone please make a level editor compatible with MacOS?--Darklinkskywalker 20:38, 9 Jul 2005 (UTC)

- Which links are you trying to click on, the ones in this section, the ones on the Stinkoman 20X6 page, or the ones on my user page? --ENUSY , 16:50, 4 August 2005 (BST)
Level Editor Update (version 9.4) http://joesarcade.tripod.com/cgi-bin/stinkoedit.cgi
-- All right... I'm a bit lost. I'm attempting to do that thing whee you can play the Stinkogame offline, and I have the Source Files [8] page and the Level Editor [9] page open aaaaand my brain explode. Can anyone tell me what to do next, please? @_@ -Σ --
Hmm, I'm having trouble with Joe's editor, and the links for the one philp was hosting don't work. Are there any other editors out there? --InsanityBringer 01:06, 2 October 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Weird glitch.
My brother's a big fan of this game. One day, long ago, we we're checking out the Continue Menu, and ALL THE LEVELS WERE THERE!!!! My brother noticed the strange thing that happened, and swore that he didn't make all this happen. He didn't have a clue of what was going on. Then I thought, This is obviously a rare glitch. I didn't do anything. So now when I see "stinkoman level <#>!" on the main page, I go the game and click "CONTINUE" and I check it out. Pretty cool, huh? I'm just wondering if anyone else expierenced this glitch. --oopsyoubwokeit 20:14, 12 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- That's not a glitch. Everyone can access all the levels, at all times. The only time when levels were hidden was when there were only three. Homestar Coder 20:19, 12 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- Well, also, you can't access stage #.2 until you beat #.1. But you can access all of the #.1s at any time. --Jay (Gobble) 20:20, 12 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- Right, forgot about that. Homestar Coder 20:22, 12 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- Oh yeah, and when a new level is released, the previously released one's .2 is now accessible. - oopsyoubwokeit
- Right, forgot about that. Homestar Coder 20:22, 12 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- Well, also, you can't access stage #.2 until you beat #.1. But you can access all of the #.1s at any time. --Jay (Gobble) 20:20, 12 Jul 2005 (UTC)
I see. That's probably also why my grandmother's computer has it too. Oh welll. List of levels my brother hasn't beaten yet:
Levels:
- 5.2 (It's pretty hard, my brother can't get though the uptants in a row)
- 7.2 (My brother has beaten this level at grandmother's, but when we came back it was gone.)
- 8.1 (For some reason, it came out today. My brother can't play it because he's still asleep. That, and the computer can't access the game.)
- 8.2 (Ditto.)
Bosses:
- Tampo (Even if it's the first level boss. it was supposed to be easy.)
- Nebulon (If you can't beat the .2 level, you can't see/beat the boss.)
- The Liekand (He has seen it, though.)
- An Ice Machine (Ditto with The Leikand.)
- Unnamed Boss (For the reason he can't play Level 8.)
G'bye. --oopsyoubwokeit 13:17, 1 Aug 2005 (UTC)
- Well, TBC are assuming you've beat all the levels so far, and doesn't want good players to get frustrated at playing the levels all over again each time stinkoman updates. --Gooblies 00:56, 3 Aug 2005 (UTC)
Let me get ths straight. You were able to gain access to all of the levels? How did you do it? Were you able to get to level 10? -Lotionman 07:51, 18 Sep 2005 (UTC)Lotionman
- This is 100% normal. You can reach stage 1 of every level no matter what, at least, since level 4 was released. Of course he wasn't able to get to level 10. --Jay (Gobble) 08:10, 18 Sep 2005 (UTC)
oopsyoubwokeit, the name of that "unnamed boss" was Ekersby.
[edit] Fall and die?
I'm playing a web version (from i-am-bored.com), and all that happens is that Stinkoman falls down the screen and dies, no ground, no bosses, WTF is going on?
Don't even acronym swears, and just use the one of Homestar runner.com those web ones are unrealiable. Rogue Leader / (my talk)
- My guess is that they only saved stinkogame.swf without the levelData or externalSwf files. --ENUSY , 02:48, 3 August 2005 (BST)
- how can a normal person (like me) save everything onto their (my) computer?--StrongBad110990 18:19, 9 Aug 2005 (UTC)
- Get the files and follow the directions on the page: Stinkoman 20X6 Source Files. I did and can now play the whole game offline. NFITC1
- Your best bet is to download phlip's Stinkoman 20X6 Cheat Program, then run nocheater.html. You can find it here. It's a lot easier than grabbing a list of links from somewhere, and saving them into the appropriate folders. --ENUSY , 19:53, 9 August 2005 (BST)
- Look for Venusy's Complete list of files used to mod Stinkoman, then download all those files. And another thing; don't use WTF. Use WTC. It makes you sound more like a true Homestar Runner fan.
- I had this happen in the middle of the game while playing from homestarrunner.com . I was at the level 1 boss, Tampo (the giant brain). I had 2 lives left. I died. When it started over, Stinkoman fell and kept falling. And the game was over. Must've been some kind of glitch I guess.--DrPepperMD 9/24/05.
- I belive I have an answer to why this happens (not 100% sure though), I first saw/played the game on a new(er) computer and it workd fine, but when a tryed to play it on an older computer (that had an out of date flash version) there was no ground. prehaps the version of flash that was the current version when this came out supported the ground that prevented you from falling. just a though.-Anonomys 00:46, 19 October 2005 (UTC)
- I've had this happen to me as well, even on fast computers. It seems to be mostly random, but the only place it ever happens is when I'm fighting a boss. - KieferSkunk 18:10, 28 October 2005 (UTC)
- sigh* That doesn't always happen to me, but when it does, it's a pain in the neck. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. 71.231.56.40 04:55, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Strange Storyline
Well, the storyline's kinda getting dull since Pan-pan was kidnapped. Almost all the levels 4-10 is/will be about rescuing pan-pan (and starting level 7, 1-up too. ) TBC, this is an awesome game, but the story... --Gooblies 14:06, 3 Aug 2005 (UTC)
- Stinkoman is emulating 8-bit platformers. "Rescue Pan-Pan" IS the story. Homestar Coder 15:01, 3 Aug 2005 (UTC)
- Thank you Stinkoman! But our panda is in another castle! ;) --Pidgeot (t) (c) (e) 17:50, 3 Aug 2005 (UTC)
- Besides, as you may have noticed, even Stinkoman admits the plot is utterly predictable. Although, even though the PLOT might be predictable, chances are, if -0 or 3 are any indication, the level scenarios won't be. :) --Shadow Hog 23:03, 3 Aug 2005 (UTC)
- dude, this is an old-style platforming game, in other words, as long as the gameply's good, nobody cares about the plot.-Anonomys 19:43, 19 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] ...The new punching?!
Who else here doesn't like the new punching?? - C.Olimar788
- heh? what do you mean by "new punching"?-Anonomys 00:55, 19 October 2005 (UTC)
- "New punching" means the fact that the 'flying fists' now shoot straight and don't disappear! The only thing that bothers me is how freaking hard it is to kill the my benj. Other than that, I think it's pretty cool. -FaceCrap 03:56, 3 November 2005 (UTC) (P.S. Are all you're discussion edits on the 19th of October, Anonymous?)
- I don't really like the "new punching" because it is almost impossible to kill the my benj. Also because you only get to have 3 shots on the screen so it's just very annoying when you need to shoot a boss and you have to wait for the shots to leave the screen and then you'll lose your chance to shoot the boss and you might get attacked. Tampo (T/C) 02:33, 21 January 2006 (UTC)
- Also I think it's a glitch because they didn't want the shots for the Stinkowing to fall so they made them fly across. Then it spread over to the other levels. [[User:Tampo|Tampo]] [[User talk:Tampo|talk]] 22:15, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
- But it's not, Stinkoman's shots still fall a little, but the Stinkowing's doesen't. - Volbeat A The Cheat 04:51, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
- I like it better this way, and I feel that it isn't a glitch. - Volbeat A The Cheat 05:03, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
Is there somewhere where the whole plot is shown? I'm really bad at this game, so I wanna know what's going on.
[edit] Fanstuff bad?
What's wrong with the fanstuff links? Some HSR themed username says it's "wiki policy," but I don't see anything against fanstuff in the wiki standards. (trogga)
- I agree with you. It's "External Links", not "H*R Links." But I can see why some wouldn't like it. - Joshua
- I'm pretty sure you read it in an old discussion of the page - where an admin said that no fanstuff related pages and fun facts should be made. (i.e. a guide to custom levels; a factoid on how you can do something with a cheat version) - Joshua
- Here's examples I found. These may be what you are talking about: here and here. - Joshua 19:02, 16 Sep 2005 (UTC)
We don't link to fanstuff because (1) as a knowledge base, we should only list official sources as external links, (2) we don't have any real info on fanstuff nor do we have any control of its content, and (3) if we allowed person A's fanstuff on this page, then we'd have to allow the fanstuff of persons B, C, D, E, and everyone else on all the other pages, and that is not the point of this wiki, nor should keeping up with and policing things like that be one of our chores. — It's dot com 06:46, 17 Sep 2005 (UTC)
You're Insane, man! I liked those links! Besides, Trogga and Joshua are right! Those links were useful, Fanstuff or not! -FaceCrap
- The cheat version may be bad, but the custom levels are public fanstuff from multiple users, and I think they should stay. - Joshua
Any glitches that can only be accessed with the cheat version or in custom levels should be treated like out-of-the-frame glitches in the toons - they were not intended to be seen by the public, so there's no reason to allow for them. That is, if there's something that happens because something is not specifically catered for (eg 1-Up kicking a Stafulter) it should not be mentioned here (though it could be mentioned on the fanstuff entry's page). If there is something intentional that can only be accessed this way (like the cabbage enemy was) then it should be mentioned, as a remark or as appropriate on another Stinkoman 20X6 page. Linking to the custom levels here would in my mind be the same as linking to Other Character Email or suchlike from the Strong Bad Email page, and would easily set a precedent for every fanstuff (or even just each category of fanstuff would be bad enough) being linked to from the H*R thing it was inspired by. --phlip TC 17:09, 17 Sep 2005 (UTC)
But what's the point of (fanstuff) interwiki links if we're not going to use them? (trogga)
Yeah, if we're not supposed to link to fanstuff, then, Oh! Why don't we blow the fanstuff link off the face of that side template thingy if we're "not supposed to link to fanstuff"! See? it's ridiculous!! Take that, It's dot com! -FaceCrap
- There's a difference between "linking to the fanstuff site from this site" to "linking to a fanstuff page from an article on this site" - the articles are supposed to make a knowledge base containing facts about H*R. However the site as a whole contains the knowledge base, the forum, the fanstuff, the chat channel, etc... so links between them outside the articles themselves are still good. --phlip TC
- Yeah, I guess not. -FaceCrap
So,anyway, if no one's said anything against the Fanstuff links for days, why hasn't somebody put them back? I would, but if it were a good idea to, somebody probably would've already. -FaceCrap
- I am against putting the fanstuff links there. People should just visit fanstuff themselves. Rogue Leader / (my talk) 14:05, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- Well, you can just go to the external links part of the side template, true, but it might be easier to have direct links on the bottom of the page. -FaceCrap
- So what, we have to be actively posting here all the time saying "I still don't want the fanstuff links there" after the discussion seems settled? OK, to make it explicit: I think they should not be there, and I will continue to think they should not be there until such a time as I specifically post saying otherwise. Until then, take it as read that I am posting here regularly saying they should not be there. --phlip TC 16:02, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)
I feel that having fanstuff links would only be kinda like linking to the forum. I also think that the custom levels might be kind of like linking to the home-made or other character e-mails, but the cheat version still seems good. -FaceCrap 20:56, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
I don't think the fanstuff should go completely unnoticed... those are some useful cheats! -FaceCrap 04:23, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
Buffalo! Buffalo, buffalo, buffalo! It's funny if you watch the Colbert Report. -FaceCrap 04:23, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Level 8
I know people have commented on the whole level 7,-0,9 thing. I think I has the solution. After Level 10, TBC are likely to go back and do a level 8 as somewhat of a lost level. I'm dissapointed there was no swimming level, so this might be where it comes in ( Level 10 defenitely won't be such a level. I'll bet anyone my entire life savings [being $8.42] that 10 will be a Bowser's Keep type deal)---User:RatherAnnoying
- Level -0 is level 8, just not called that. --Jay (Gobble) 20:06, 21 Sep 2005 (UTC)

- What is a bowser's keep type deal, anyway? -FaceCrap 04:13, 2 November 2005 (UTC)
- Ever played any old Mario game? Think those type of final levels. - Kookykman(t)(c)(r)
- Actually, I haven't played any old Mario games (unless Super Mario World for the Super Nintendo counts, but I haven't even beaten it and it's at a friend's house anyway), so I haven't seen any final levels. -FaceCrap 02:31, 8 November 2005 (UTC)
- So, what's a bowser's keep type dael? -FaceCrap 03:45, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

Bowser's castle, World 1-4 of Super Mario Bros.. Look up "NES", then "Super Mario Bros.", then "World 1-4". The link redirects to the first page. --DorianGray
10 bucks says level 10's a fusion of Super Mario World's Bowser's Castle and Megaman and Bass' final stage(A castle where you go through several subsections and face a boss at the end of almost every section(like the goals))
Gee, thanks DorianGray. That link totally worked. I now know exactly what a Bowser's keep type deal is. Both a 403 and a 404 at the same time! -FaceCrap 16:19, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
- Try going here, then click the link for World 1, Area 4 (or any of the other Area 4s). --phlip TC 14:04, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Cutscene Before 9.3
So, doesn't anyone think that noting that there is no cutscene before 9.3 is too obvious? There's no cutscene before An Ice Machine either, and nobody cared about that! Who put that fact up, anyway? -FaceCrap 00:34, 1 Oct 2005 (UTC)
- I agree. We should either put both facts up, or none of 'em. --— talk Bubsty edits 21:13, 1 Oct 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Easter Eggs
- I know it wouldn't do much, but to help clean up, couldnt we move the easter eggs onto the levels in which they're on? For instance, for the "snot bubble" easter egg, couldnt we just keep that on the "Oh! The moon!" page? --— talk Bubsty edits 21:11, 1 Oct 2005 (UTC)
- I don't think we need the snot bubble one there. We already recorded it on Stinkoman 20X6 Playable Characters. - Joshua
[edit] Stinkoman Labels
Personally, I think there should be some kind of consistency among the level titles. If we are to change the level 8's to level -0's, we should do that throughout the entire page and not just to one of the titles. I changed it back because, having two dashes -0-9 doesnt' exactly look pretty, and it would look even worse if we had (-0)-9, as I had seen once before (if my memory serves me right). Please accept my apologies but I will change it back to the way I had it for the aformentioned reason. If it is deemed better to have all level 8 labels turned into -0 label, then it should be done across the board. Thanks.--Stux 17:36, 13 October 2005 (UTC)
- My vote is too change all -0 tags into 8s. I find the -0 title confusing when being used among other levels. This is probably especially true for newbies. 8 is just much simpler. And it's not entirely inaccurate either - Level 8 is called Level 8 in the Stinkomanual. - Joshua 17:41, 13 October 2005 (UTC)
- But the game itself calls it Level -0. --Jay (Gobble) 17:47, 13 October 2005 (UTC)
- To me that says that the game creators (that would be TBC) both call it level 8 and level -0. However, my first issue still stands: consistency. Having several titles call it level 8 and only one or two (or even half) level -0 is inconsistent and looks bad. --Stux 17:50, 13 October 2005 (UTC)
- Do we have titles that call it level 8? --Jay (Gobble) 17:52, 13 October 2005 (UTC)
- We go by -0. I don't understand why people care about it. We go by the official site, and the site calls it -0. Oh, and I think the walkthrough says -0/8. Rogue Leader / (my talk) 17:53, 13 October 2005 (UTC)
- To answer my own question, we did. I came up with a solution that not only fixed that, but also fixes the "double hyphen" problem. --Jay (Gobble) 17:55, 13 October 2005 (UTC)
- Do we have titles that call it level 8? --Jay (Gobble) 17:52, 13 October 2005 (UTC)

- What the walkthrough says doesn't matter - it can be changed. Basically, the official site calls it -0 AND 8. So we could go either way without "official site relevance" problems. - Joshua 17:55, 13 October 2005 (UTC)
- Yes, this is true, but one is in the manual (which has lots of other intentional mistakes) and the other is in the game itself. --Jay (Gobble) 17:57, 13 October 2005 (UTC)
- I was gonna post this till you guys beat me to it (twice! I had 2 edit conflicts):
- Pretty much every main title that refers to it under Trivia, remarks (before the change) and inside references. There is a snippet in the flash information that calls it episode 8 (this i beleive is original TBC wording) and further below 8/-0, and ... and that's it!
- and I like your solution! --Stux 17:58, 13 October 2005 (UTC)
- I was gonna post this till you guys beat me to it (twice! I had 2 edit conflicts):
- Yeah, the manual itself is kind of inconsistant. I agree with Jay. And furthermore, I think -0 sums up the level better too. --DorianGray
- Working heavily on the Stinkoman 20X6 levels, I must say -0 is a great inconvience. When we can choose between convient and inconvient, why do we pick the harder one? It seems that TBC used -0 on the level selection screen and "TRY LEVEL" screen and 8 everywhere else. - Joshua 18:02, 13 October 2005 (UTC)
- Define "everywhere else." All I see was the manual, which was already mentioned, and the "What's New" box from the day before, where they didn't want to give away the new level. --Jay (Gobble) 18:09, 13 October 2005 (UTC)
- Not to mention " It said "V6.0 EPISODES 1-8" until September 5, 2005, when the ninth level was added." Although level and episode are two slightly different things. Yes, I know I'm being slightly repetitive. I do like the new wording a lot though! --Stux 18:52, 13 October 2005 (UTC)
- Ok, I think that we can live with some itty bitty inconviences in our articles. -0 makes much more sense than 8, and is called -0 on the site. Rogue Leader / (my talk) 18:59, 13 October 2005 (UTC)
- I don't exactly see what you're talking about with -0 making more sense. -0 is much more inconvenient than 8, and we've already established that TBC call it both. I vote 8. - Joshua 23:13, 13 October 2005 (UTC)

In like, 2 hours I will have the link posted here. You're not on it...yet. Note to the admins: you won't be on it, since you are defending the inconsistency fact that you put on there. Ya, proably a Japanese Coach Z. there is s HRWiki article that mentions this.- Not currently a user, 11:02pm, 9th November 2005 (AEST)
Though I have a feeling it's so obvious that it's Coach Z, it might not be Coach Z at all. Just a theory. -FaceCrap 17:53, 24 November 2005 (UTC)
I think that it is Coach Z. In some of the cartoons, Coach Z is represented like that (I cannot remember where). When he was, he looked extremely similar to the end boss. -Zyborg
Maybe the final boss is an armored Sticklyman. After all, maybe only the cape and armor are shadowed, and the "hat" may be some kinda visor.
- I changed my mind. I do think the Shadowy Figure is 20X6 Coach Z. On the fanstuff wiki, he has many names relating to Coach Z, like "Emeperor Z" and the popular "Master Z". In a Stinkoman comic called "Stinkoman 20X6: The Second Wave" he is called "Evil Z". I do think it is just 20X6 Coach Z, wearing sholder plates and a cape. His sprite is avalible in "Make-O Your Own Stinko", but it has no cape.
[edit] Messy Page
The whole fun fact section of this page is a mess. I'm thinking we need to delete some facts, maybe move some pages, stuff like that. Like individual boss fun facts chould go in their own section in the enemies page. And I think a page should be set up of a list of all the "Try Level" "Game Over" and "More Levels To Come" scenes. - Joshua
- It is a bit messy. I'll try sweeping the floor.
- ...
- But seriously, yea. Too much info. We need to have a garage sale or something. I'll maybe try to do a bit of work on the page. Probably a few more Fun Facts subsections are needed, as well as maybe an 'updates section', for the little things they change every time they update. ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 04:07, 8 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- The fun facts should be split into levels wherever possible, and a bunch of other changes. I was kinda waiting for the game to be finished before proposing any radical alterations. — It's dot com 04:12, 8 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- Would it be okay to remove all of the "when the game was first made, it was like this. it was later changed" type messages? Shouldn't the guide just talk about how the game is now?--DrPepperMD
- Hi! I have two points I'd like to talk about (sorry, I'm not really mentioning anything new).
- This TALK page is indeed still messy. I think we should archive again everything except the Closed (STUFF), XML and couple of most recent (like level 9) conversations. Oh! and this section of course. I'd do it, but um, I hate to ask... how do you archive things again?
- The Main page has its archives broken in pieces of 20, and has its own template and everything, I think this talk page merits that kind of organization.
- Um yeah the page is kinda bloated. I was thinking making actual level pages for most stuff (we already have the walkthroughs, which the level pages can point to) like It's dot com suggested. I think it's doable at least for the early stages, and since the game is presumably nearly complete. That or Real World references should have its own page. So what should it be, individual level pages or Real World references? :D
- Organizing the page now, will save us the headache of updating it later, when it's even more bloated. Adding to a new infrastructure isn't necessarily that much harder.
- Thank you guys for your time!
- --Stux 07:50, 1 Oct 2005 (UTC)
- I have organized the talk archives. --Stux 08:24, 1 Oct 2005 (UTC)
- I definitely like the separate Real World References page! --Stux 22:38, 1 Oct 2005 (UTC)
- I have reorganized some of the sections, is it clean enough to remove the cleanup tag? --Stux 02:24, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)
- It is not even close to being clean. You have been doing a great jorb on this, but it is still to big for its own good. We should probably take out the updates and break the FFs into smaller sections. Rogue Leader / (my talk) 03:23, 5 Oct 2005 (UTC)
Some good examples of shortening is that we need to make either A: A Big Fun fact page or B: Seperate articles for all the facts and references.
[edit] Separate Fun Facts Page
I have a (possibly controversial) suggestion: why not move *all* of the Fun Facts section to its own page? It is big enough to merit it, and that way we can leave the Stinkoman page short and clean. --Stux 08:56, 29 October 2005 (UTC)
On another note, can the Closed STUFF have its own independent page? It has its own page now which is inserted as a template to make it look like the way it was, since I didn't know if it should be kept here for easy access. I was thinking it could be prominently displayed in the Archive Nav bar. --Stux 08:56, 29 October 2005 (UTC)
- You know, I was thinking that we should move all of the fun facts to an independent page. But STUFF'd facts having there own page, and still being displayed here is over kill. Rogue Leader / (my talk) 13:26, 30 October 2005 (UTC)
- Ok. I just didn't know if there was any reason for the STUFF to be visible immediately from the main talk page. Note that this is the same way STUFF is injected into the main STUFF page. As for the FF, if other ppl think it should be done then I'll go ahead and do it (later). --Stux 17:29, 30 October 2005 (UTC)
- I still think that FF could use it's own page, anyone else agree? --Stux 04:27, 3 November 2005 (UTC)
- I think having some sections say See Main Article: linky, while some have the facts. It looks inconsistent. Rogue Leader / (my talk) 21:00, 4 November 2005 (UTC)
- I still think that FF could use it's own page, anyone else agree? --Stux 04:27, 3 November 2005 (UTC)

It is only a sketch and this was the most concise and attractive version i could come up with. I played with different alternatives and like this one above the best. The original facts section would have looked like this in the page (sorry for the glowy box, i'm kinda fond of it). The one above would look something like this. I also just noticed that the <h4>
tags don't hide the TOC, just mess it up a bit (i remember running into that problem before), and so I would need to change those to <div font>
tags in order to eliminate them out of the TOC, yet keep their size intact. Any suggestions? (I will be removing the H4 tags shortly for those who miss it, so you'll have to read the page history.) --Stux 22:21, 20 November 2005 (UTC)

- Glad you liked it! Which one did you prefer more? Version 1 or Version 2? --Stux 21:06, 22 November 2005 (UTC)
- Yeah I was trying to fix that problem. I'd like the 2nd one better if I could get around the TOC problem (unless we were to hide it but that would be a copout). Oh... I think I have a better idea! --Stux 21:54, 22 November 2005 (UTC)
- Okay, so I went through 4 different revisions, three of which I liked: Version 1b, 1c (with index) and Version 2b (no index), and still in contention is our original Version 1. I have also updated how version 2b looks above. Oh and I forgot to sign, anyway I did not mention that this version I posted do not show up in the table of contents at all! Which looks pretty nice and does not have those pesky edit links after each entry... whaddya think? --Stux 17:11, 23 November 2005 (UTC)

- I posted that since I saw Volbeat's recent edit where he/she removed a comment about it and I thought it would be important to mention that for clarity. If you guys think we should start some sort of vote (wether or not to use this idea and which version to use), or if more people would comment more on the versions, that would be greatly appreciated. --Stux 17:22, 27 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Version 3 Mirror
- Formerly Version 2 Mirror
I have a working (i think) version of Stinkoman 20X6 v2. (is that the one with 4 levels?) When I get the chance to put it on my geocities server could it be put in an article? Just wondering, I don't mind if it can't. - Volbeat A The Cheat 09:04, 30 November 2005 (UTC)
I checked the file and it is actually the one with 5 levels on it, I guess that makes it version 3. Anyways I forgot to put it on my web server and I won't be able to for 2 or 3 days. - Volbeat A The Cheat 04:43, 2 December 2005 (UTC)
- Geocities unfortunately has bandwidth issues with popular pages. Have you checked to see if the kitcorp mirror has that version already stored? --Stux 05:20, 2 December 2005 (UTC)
- Me dunno. Last time I checked kitkorp, it didn't even have the stinko-updated games menu. But things may have changed in the last 5 or 6 months. -FaceCrap 13:43, 3 December 2005 (UTC)
- Wow! yeah, they rarely do update. They don't even have the stinkoman game in their games menu! However, I was lucky enough to stumble into an old version they do have archived but does not contain the necessary XML files to make it playable, just the SWF. Which may be why they don't have it in its games menu. --Stux 15:18, 3 December 2005 (UTC)
- Yeah I am aware of the problems with geocities, but I don't know where else I can dump this mirror, anybody here able to host it?
- At least there is a version 4 mirror on kitkorp. - Volbeat A The Cheat 11:27, 7 December 2005 (UTC)
- I personally, am not able to host it at this moment. If that changes I will let you know. Does your version have all the xml files and stuff then? It would be nice to compile all the old versions in one place and all. --Stux 20:16, 26 December 2005 (UTC)'
- No, but I have em on my comp anyways, so I can just zip em up all together. - Volbeat A The Cheat 10:32, 21 January 2006 (UTC)
- Oooo! That would be cool! --Stux 16:34, 21 January 2006 (UTC)
- I e-mailed it to myself today, as it's my first day of school, but my e-mail is busted for some reason. Just so you know I don't have the old Stinkomanual or Level -0.1, I have the newer versions.
- That's not a problem, I'm not in a rush. :) I did want to remind you to sign your talk page posts though. --Stux 13:54, 1 February 2006 (UTC)

- Well I managed to pull out a v6.X mirror including the object library from that version. What now? - Volbeat A The Cheat 06:01, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
- Not sure. Keep it around for now, perhaps we might ask Tom if it could be added to the hrwiki mirror? --Stux 18:59, 25 February 2006 (UTC)
- Alright, well here is the speculations on it, It has the Game File, original object library, original XMLs, but I left out the cutscenes and I don't have a copy of the Stinkomanual from then. - Volbeat A The Cheat 00:16, 26 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Manual Change
Has anyone noticed that the manual now shows the "Giving up already?" page right after Nebulon's boss page? Don't know when this happened.
- Not happening to me now, but something similar happened to me a while back; maybe your cache needs updating (though that wouldn't explain my problem, as I intentionally always keep my cache at a bare minimum) or maybe it's a problem with the site. --Jay (Gobble) 03:44, 27 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Rival and Stinkoman MM7 game
Do you think that Stinkoman is going to get a rival? If so, it would be funny if its sprite was an edit of Bass's. It would be cool to have a new Stinkoman game with Megaman 7 graphics. It could even have a parody of the MM7 plot (Stinkoman's rival does a horrible attempt to trick Stinkoman into being his "friend", and Stinkoman easily falls for it) the Stinkoman version of Rush would be The cheat and Treble could be a rival The Cheat (The Cheat is a The Cheat, according to "Origins" and other sources"). This is just my idea. -Zyborg
[edit] Marzipan Character
I think it would be awesome to play a Marzipan character who "floats" like Princess Toadstool in Mario Bros 2. Or maybe the pompom character could be like Kirby? Perhaps those ideas would be better suited for 20X6 II or maybe a Homestar Runner side scroller. - — 12.158.72.52 (Talk | contribs) 03:27, 17 April 2006 (left unsigned)
To answer, we look to the power of numbered lists:
- First of all, this doesen't have much to do with 20X6.
- The Brothers Chaps don't steal ideas.
- There is a Pom Pom counterpart already, his name is Pan Pan, and he is the basis of Stinkoman 20X6's story.
- As for Marzipan, here is a slightly abandoned idea.
- Five.
- 20X6 II? The first one isn't even finished. And screw a new Homestar game.
- Sign your posts please. use the ~~~ or ~~~~ tags to sign your posts, even if you don't have an account.
- If you plan to delete this section of talk, don't think about it.
That is all. - Volbeat A The Cheat 10:11, 17 April 2006 (UTC)
- 20X6 Marzipan is entirely 20X6 related.
- The entire Stinkoman 20X6 is based off the NES Mega Man, with the sprites based off of Mega Man's.
- True. So maybe Pan Pan could be this "pompom character". Although I don't think he'll float...
- Yes, and she could appear again, as some kind a roll edit possibly.
- Evif.
- I agree. It's kind of too late to introduce 20X6 Marzipan. Pan Pan's still a possiblity, though. I highly doubt they're ever going to make a Stinkoman 20X6 II though.
- Signing, whee...
- Oop.

- Your reply is better than mine. You shall have five pies. - Volbeat A The Cheat 00:06, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
Maybe we could get the person on fanstuff making 'Stinkoman 20X6 2' to include some o' that. -FaceCrap 00:33, 20 April 2006 (UTC) Oh, and people who don't have an account yet don't have to sign. It's just a dumb string of numbers.
On the fanstuff wiki, I've started a Stinkoman 20X6 2 thing and DonZabu says he'll make it a reality using Game Maker Version 6. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the current subject, but I just thought you'd like to know. 20X6 Marzipan should make another appereance. I mean, I'm sure that TBC wouldn't abandon the character. They might improve it's design like with Old-Timey Strong Sad, but hopefully not abandon it. -Mitchell00 11:12, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
- Don't forget to everybody remember Trogador. Everbody thought he was abandoned until they surprised us by using him. - Super Sam 11:56, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Last Boss Ideas
Is anyone thinking about what the final boss is? I think it has 2 forms. The first one would be the Shadowy Figure, and he could take 30 hits. But after you defeat him, you'll be transported to a the roof of the Evil Castle, and you'll fight Sol Giant, this GIANT robot that takes 50 hits to kill, and takes TWO hits to register an actual hit, making it really take 100 hits to kill. Here's the transcript:
???? Where?--Jnelson09 18:14, 24 June 2006 (UTC)

Here's my second idea. Level 10's boss is the Shadowy Figure/20X6 Coach Z, and he fights using a laser sword. After you beat him, there should be like a "Level Final" where the Shadowy Figure/20X6 Coach Z is in the Z-Wing(the name I gave to the Coach Z ship on the games menu), and he's trying to make a getaway. Is this better?
A third idea. Shadowy Figure/20X6 Coach Z with laser sword like Idea#2, but this time, when you beat him, he reveals this 4-legged mech that looks like something Dr. Wily from Megaman yould use, called the Z Machine(considering he is 20X6 Coach Z). Well, the Z Machine would have 3 forms. Form 1 just has 4 legs, Form 2 would have no legs, but would have 2 mechanical arms and would float about. Form 3 would just be the hovering Z Machine without arms or legs. This idea is a good one.
Or maybe like a boss recap; where all the boss fights from the previous worlds would be fought in order (with frequent health power-ups between battles), and it ends with the Shadowy Figure battle concepted above. Seems like a good idea to me.--64.91.158.52 18:40, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Is Level 10 Ever Coming?
Apparently so. I just stumbled across this in the forum, figured I'd bring it to the wiki if it's not already here yet, since it seems somewhat legitimate, what you might glean from an interview or the like, in the form of an email from Matt to Power Crunch:
And don't sweat Stinkoman level 10. It's coming. For real. Our
programmer guy moved away a year or so ago so it's been harder to put
games together but we've got level 10 all figured out and hopefully it
will rule.
So that's always a plus. ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 23:41, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
- I am in fact, Power Crunch on the forum. And I in fact, apologize if that's confusing. But I in fact, must say, that if you'd like to read the whole letter.
Hey Daniel, Sadly, we probably won't ever get a talking Homsar. The toys were all a pretty big pain in the butt to get made and cost a buncha money. I did recently find this awesome company that makes the little voice box type things for talking plush dolls:
http://www.gmkmg.com/recordable_products.htm
So if you happened to be able to sew or knew someone who could sew, then you could make a Homsar, stick one of those voice boxes in him and put your fav Homsar jams on it. I know that's kind of a ridiculous thing to suggest but I just thought of it cause I want to make a musical stuffed Epona (Link's horse from Legend of Zelda) for my brother's baby that plays Epona's Song when you squeeze it.
And don't sweat Stinkoman level 10. It's coming. For real. Our programmer guy moved away a year or so ago so it's been harder to put games together but we've got level 10 all figured out and hopefully it will rule. We're also working on a big adventure game like Peasant's Quest except more like the Lucasarts point n' click style games. And this one will feature the actual characters from the website, not made up characters like Thy Dungeonman and Peasant's Quest.
High five and thanks for writing.
Matt

What's that about a talking Homsar? -FaceCrap 14:43, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
Wait a second. Why would it be a problem that Jonathon moved away? He could still code the games as long as he had contact with TBC and an Internet connection. -FaceCrap 00:57, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
- It might've taken Jonathan a while to move in, or get an internet connection. - The Joe(Talk) 01:03, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
- This talk page is for the article, not the game. This discussion really belongs on the forum. Thanks. Loafing 01:16, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
So once the Brothers Chaps get a new programmer guy, we can expect Level 10 to come really soon? That's good to hear. At least we get to know what the really long holdup was.

[edit] Continute
You expect this game having to let you skip levels? Well, I say that is cheating! I expect NO cheaters allowing to make this game, even if it takes me 40 days and 40 nights! What kind of garbage makes no passwords acquired to activate CONTINUTE, huh? - From a loyal, somewhat etiquette fan, Viklas 21:00, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
- Stinkoman uses Local Shared Objects to store where you're up to in the game, so you can leave and come back and Continute still remembers where you are. One of the restrictions of LSOs is that they're restricted to one URL - when the game moved to a
/v2/
subdir, it could no longer access the continute data from before. Thus TBC had two choices – either force everyone who's beaten the game to beat it again every time a new level comes out, or let them start from the new level wherever they were up to before. They understandably chose the latter, because the former would be much more annoying. If you consider it cheating, feel free to not use the feature, and play the game from Level 1.1 every time; I'm not stopping you. --phlip TC 03:59, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

What gives?--Kirbychu HR'D 01:01, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

What happened? I went there and there's a sign that says some thing on it and half an octopus! But as far as I know, the things are still there, I decompiled it.--72.93.240.37 23:06, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
I know this is an old comment, but I really just have to ask; What is up with the object library, I just don't understand. "Sheild Alley"? Well i'm not gonna say much more 'cause it's bad form to replie to old comments so I close with if anybody can tell me what the purpose of the object library is, that'd be great. So, bye for now. [edit] Sprite Sheets
Anyone know if they exist? 173.32.221.240 04:46, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
- Some people used to have sprite sheets available on the fanstuff wiki, but they're currently unavailable. Your best bet right now would be either decompiling the game (probably especially the object library) and making your own, or the Make-o Your Own Stinko game, in which various character poses already exist as stamps. --DorianGray 04:53, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Weirdest Glitch
I went to level 1 and I couldn't move, jump, or shoot! I tried level 2 same thing! It happend on every level! Except 4 I couldn't move jump or make the rocks fall! Has this happend to anyone else?
- Um, did you try clicking on the Flash file to give "focus" to it? --Jay (Gobble) 00:22, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
[edit] stupid glitches!!!
i was on the level 1 boss (it is easy) and the ground just dissapeared from underneath me! i can't belive it! --Stong L. Bod 19:25, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Music files?
Hey, why do we only show the music for two levels on one cut scene? Is it something to do with the files or something? Jezzamon 10:30, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
- Yes. Those are the only files officially released. They appear on the Videlectrix website, which is why we have them linked at all. --DorianGray 10:32, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Past Libraries
Does anyone have links to past versions of the object library? CrabAttack1999 18:59, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Stinkoman 20X6 and YouTube
How come levels 6, 7, -0, and 9 aren't on YouTube? (fan edits don't count)
- None of the episodes are officially on YouTube. Fans may have put up videos, but we don't document fan videos on YouTube. --Jay (Gobble) 09:19, 9 January 2012 (UTC)
[edit] Level edits
It’s there a known list of the minor changes to the other levels as of the level 10 release? And if so, have we documented them somewhere.
- I've been meaning to update the walkthrough with level changes and checkpoint placements, but haven't gotten to it yet because there's so much to do around here lately. (I currently have 17 wiki pages saved in my browser Bookmarks to edit later.) I'll definitely do that at some point, unless someone else gets to it first, but it'll happen either way. One thing I know for sure, though: the Poorbt at the start of -0.1 used to come in from the right. Gfdgsgxgzgdrc 02:06, 9 January 2021 (UTC)
