{Cut to the King of Town, Coach Z and Bubs.}
COACH Z: Oh jeez, I don't know, I think I prefer his work with the Furious Five much more. Uh, he had more street cred back then...
{Homestar walks by and continues to do so throughout the scene.}
HOMESTAR RUNNER: Hey, thanks for coming to my party, guy-
{The cartoon pauses with a blue bar appearing in the upper-left. It reads "New DLC is available for this cartoon!"}
{The bar then reads "Downloading "2022 Costume Pack"", as a white line appears to download the pack.}
{The pack finishes downloading. The bar reads "DLC downloaded!"}
{The bar then reads "The cartoon will now restart.}"
{Cut to the King of Town, Coach Z and Bubs, who now are wearing different costumes.}
COACH Z: Oh jeez, I don't know, I think I prefer his work with the Furious Five much more. Uh, he had more street cred back then...
{Homestar walks by, and continues to do so throughout the scene. His costume gushes blood from the armholes and his voice has reverb.}
HOMESTAR: Hey, thanks for coming to my party, guys. {rapping; Coach Z dances} Ahh, it's Coach Z to rock a rhyme, to rock a rhyme that's right on time, it's Coach Z!
{Switch to Strong Bad, Strong Mad and The Cheat.}
STRONG BAD: ...you know, I think it turned out pretty good. I mean Mom helped me do the boots, and I did the sewing—
{Homestar walks by.}
HOMESTAR RUNNER: Oh, lookin' good, Strong Bad. Death Clock or whoever, that's great!
STRONG BAD: Oooh, Death Clock ih- d—?! {shouting} For the last time, I'm some freakin' guy I chose at random from {not shouting} WarioWare.
STRONG MAD: YOU SHOULD HAVE PICKED THE DISCO GUY.
{Switch to Marzipan, Strong Sad, Pom Pom and The Poopsmith, who is bobbing for pumpkins. He picks up a pumpkin and spits it into the bucket twice.}
MARZIPAN: Yesterday, I was out in the garden, and I was weeding, and there was this little worm... and...
HOMESTAR RUNNER: Aww, everybody looks so great! {stops walking} You know, there's more punch over there, if anybody... wants any.
{At the last second of the shot, Homsar pops up from the pumpkin-bobbing pool.}
{Cut to Homestar.}
HOMESTAR RUNNER: All riiiiiight, everybody! Line up! {holds up flashlight} We're gonna play {clicks flashlight on and off} Flashlight Ghost-Story-Telling with a Flashliiight! {thunder booms}
{Cut to Homestar still standing in front of Pom Pom, Marzipan and Strong Sad.}
HOMESTAR RUNNER: Okay, okay, okay! I'll go first.
{A circle forms around him so his picture is now an inset of a new scene. The story begins in the Spooky Woods.}
HOMESTAR RUNNER: Umm... okay! {talking spooky} Once, there was this green gobliiiin... {a goblin appears, accompanied by a musical sting} and um, he used to... look aroooound... {the goblin looks around, accompanied by a musical sting} And um, I guess he did a daaance. {the goblin dances to a short song} {breaking character} Oh man, that was terribl-
{The blue bar re-appears. It reads "Downloading "Goblin Dance Moves Upgrade".}
{The bar finishes downloading. It then reads "DLC downloaded!".}
{It then reads "The cartoon will now restart."}
{The screen briefly fades to black, before fading back in.}
{The bar reads "Just kidding."}
{The goblin now does a more well-animated dance to the remix from Most in the Graveyard. Homestar looks on.}
{Homestar passes the flashlight to Bubs.}
BUBS: And... the goblin, he had a Grem-
{The blue bar re-appears. It reads "Downloading "Lesser Characters Ghost Story Expansion"}
{The bar finished downloading. It reads "DLC downloaded!" Coach Z now takes Bubs's place.}
COACH Z: And this gorblin! He bought a new fridge!
{The car turns into a fridge. As Coach Z speaks, the fridge is morphed to fit his description. The goblin nods.}
COACH Z: And he tricked it out with a drawer freezer, French doors, and an ice maker that dispenses ballpark ice! Y'know, the kind that kinda looks like little icy tater-torts. {A pile of ice cubes dispenses from the fridge with the sound of an engine revving.} 36 by 65 inches, 28 cubic feet of food storage, I mean we're talking some freaking hus-tle! {The hubcap spikes and tricked-out tailpipes are added to the sides of the fridge. The tailpipes blast flames.}
{Coach Z passes the flashlight to The Cheat, who makes Cheat noises throughout his segment. As he speaks, first the doors of the fridge bulge out. Then, the doors pop open, revealing a disembodied blue arm and a disembodied blue leg. A disgusting pink thing bulges out from the freezer drawer. A pair of eyeballs attached to long optic nerves pop out from the pile of ice. A blue hand rises from the dirt to the left of the fridge, and a blue arm holding a detached blue leg pops out from a knothole of a tree on the right. Finally, a drawing of the sun smiling and wearing sunglasses appears on the fridge. The Cheat passes the flashlight to Strong Mad.}
STRONG MAD: Ummm... THE GOBLIN IS WEARING A HAT! {A chef's toque appears on the goblin.} And... THE FRIDGE IS WEARING A HAT! {A blue wizard's hat with stars and moons appears on the fridge.} Duh... uh, A PILE OF HATS IS WEARING A HAT! {A pile of hats appears, and a large maroon top hat plops on top of the pile.}
STRONG BAD: Oh, brother! Gimme that! {snatches the flashlight from Strong Mad} So then the robot came—
{The Visor Robot walks onscreen from the right.}
STRONG BAD: —and he started vaporizing anybody with his vapor-gu-
{The blue bar re-appears. It reads "Downloading "Robot Graphical Upgrade".}
{The bar finishes downloading. It reads "DLC downloaded!". The Visor Robot now has a three-dimensional shiny metallic appearance.}
{As Strong Bad yells, Visor Robot blasts the various dead body parts and the hats with his laser vision. Everything hit by a laser now explodes loudly.}
STRONG BAD: And he was like "You take this, and you'd better, you, and you take this, everybody's gonna die!" And then he said, {The Robot jumps backwards. The Goblin takes a sideways leap out of the way and peeks behind the fridge} "Oh, the Gremlin! I hate the Goblin Gremlin! Bah!"
{The Visor Robot kicks the fridge over the trees. However, the Goblin, who has evaded the attack, stays behind.}
{The blue bar re-appears. It reads "Downloading "Strong Bad Human Nose Pack".}
{The bar finishes downloading. It reads "DLC downloaded!" The circle zooms in to the center of the screen, as the nose of Strong Bad's costume is replaced with a more CG-looking one, with jiggle physics, and the mustache now looks much hairier.}
STRONG BAD: Oh man, this nose is amazing! Look at it doingo boingo! {Strong Bad rocks his head back and forth} Doingo boingo doingo boingo doingo boingo... I need to get some more punch.
{The circle zooms back out to its original position. Strong Bad passes the flashlight to the King of Town and walks off.}
THE KING OF TOWN: Oooh, oooh!
{The Visor Robot and Goblin stand across from each other and all the food appears that the King mentions in between them.}
THE KING OF TOWN: And then there was fried fish and Heavenly Ha-
{The blue bar re-appears. It reads "Nerf The King Of Town's Food Dumbness?" Two options are presented: "Yes?" and "Very Yes?" The latter is selected.}
{All the food inexplicably disappears. Strong Sad instantly takes his place with a splat sound.}
STRONG SAD: And so it turns out the robot had a human brain {a circle showing the interior of the Robot's head shows a human brain inside it} that was stolen from a ki-
{The blue bar re-appears. It reads "Downloading "Strong Sad's Less Pathetic Voice Sound Pack"}
{The bar finishes downloading. It reads "DLC downloaded!"
{A boy and a girl walk in from the left.}
STRONG SAD: {Now with his modern voice} -kindly old man. And the children of that old man came to the robot looking for their father, and they called out to him.
{A speech bubble with an exclamation point in it appears on the girl. They move in closer.}
STRONG SAD: And the robot's human brain remembered his children and his stolen life, and he was moved to tears.
{Tears drip down from the robot's visor, which causes sparks to appear on his exterior.}
STRONG SAD: But the tears shorted out his circuits and fried his brain.
{The robot topples over, crushing the two kids and the goblin. The robot's brain is thrown clear and begins to slide in a pool of brain juice.}
STRONG SAD: And the robot toppled over, and he crushed his children, and the Goblin, too. And none of them lived. {clicks the flashlight off}
{Cut to Bubs, Coach Z, and the King of Town crying.}
COACH Z: {crying} Oh, jeez, what a total downer!
{They walk away, still crying.}
{Cut to a wide shot as everyone begins leaving.}
STRONG BAD: Oh man, I'm outta here!
{The Poopsmith sighs deeply and walks away.}
MARZIPAN: {crying} That's the saddest story I've ever heard! You can't come to next year's party.
{Marzipan walks away crying.}
HOMESTAR RUNNER: {sadly, with blood spurting onto Strong Sad's sweater and on the ground in front of him as he talks} Gee... thanks for coming to my party, Strong Sad.
{Homestar sighs and walks away.}
{Everyone except Strong Sad leaves, and crickets start chirping. An owl hoots as Strong Sad clicks the flashlight on and off a few times.}
{The blue bar re-appears. It reads "Downloading "Modicum of Effort on the Animation Pack"}
{The bar finishes downloading. It reads "DLC downloaded!"}
{Strong Sad's hands are now animated to show him holding the flashlight and using his fingers to click the flashlight on and off. A close-up circle is added to the right for emphasis.}
{Cut to the ending screen, showing the moon behind the trees. A far-off wolf howls.}
{The old-style costume list screen pops up, complete with costume voting message. The blue bar re-appears. It reads "Downloading "Later That Night".}
{The bar finishes downloading. It reads "DLC downloaded!". The scene changes to the since-2001 standard stand-around-and-comment-on-each-others'-costume screen.}
STRONG BAD: Whoa! I forgot that this cartoon didn't have a stand around and comment on each other's costumes part.
STRONG SAD: {rapid monotone} The tradition of standing around in the Spooky Woods after a Halloween cartoon and commenting on one other's costumes began in 2001 with the cartoon The House—
STRONG BAD: Ugh! Pipe down, you walkin' Homestar Runner Wiki!
STRONG SAD: This cartoon contains another reference to the Homestar Runner Wiki.
STRONG BAD: This cartoon's about to contain another instance of blood if you don't shut up.
HOMESTAR RUNNER: Ooh, I can help with that!
{He leans over and spurts blood out of his armhole, then alternating to the other side, then both}
HOMESTAR RUNNER: Sptoo! Ptoo! Instance of blood!
Easter Eggs
- At the end, click on The Cheat:
- HOMESTAR RUNNER: {singing} Cheatcliff! Cheatcliff! No one should be in a third-rate Garfield cartoon!
- At the end, click on Coach Z:
- STRONG BAD: Well, it finally happened: Coach Z ran out of rappers to dress up as and had to repeat one.
- COACH Z: No, no! I've never dressed up as anybody from Run-DMC! Honest!
- HOMESTAR RUNNER: There's no way, Coach Z. You definitely did in, like, 2003, 2005, maybe.
- STRONG BAD: Yeah, I specifically remember there being like a "King of Rork" joke or maybe it was "Work This Way".
- COACH Z: {scatting and dancing to the tune of "Walk This Way"}
- STRONG SAD: {speaking concernedly and rapidly} Are we really not going to address how Coach Z has fingers in this cartoon?!
- At the end, click on Pom Pom:
- HOMESTAR RUNNER: Hey, Pom Pom, I really like your Twinkie the Kid ate too many Twinkies as a kid costume!
- KING OF TOWN: More like, I hanker for a hunka cheese council propaganda!
- At the end, click on the King of Town:
- KING OF TOWN: It was the right costume to do, and a tasty way to do it.
- STRONG BAD: King of Town, are you simultaneously the Quaker Oats guy and Wilford Brimley?
- KING OF TOWN: Wilford Brimley was the Quaker Oats guy!
- STRONG BAD: Yeah, but he didn't dress like a Quaker, he just was like, the pitchman, standing in a kitchen, making breakfast.
- HOMESTAR RUNNER: No no, I'm with the King on this one. Wilford Brimley would hatch from his cocoon, covered in oatmeal and then say his famous catchphrase.
- KING OF TOWN: Di-a-betus!
- At the end, click on Strong Mad:
- STRONG BAD: Strong Mad, how come both your costumes in this cartoon gotta be like, {wiggling his arms in disgust} medically naked?
- STRONG MAD: YOU LEAVE MY BREAD BASKET OUT OF THIS!
- {his nose buzzer goes off}
- At the end, click on Strong Sad:
- STRONG BAD: {accented} A-Guillermo, can you check and see if Stephen Pearcy from Ratt is still in my torture chamber?
- {graphic comes in from the side of Stephen Pearcy and a rat from the Vampire's Castle Disk 4 of 12 in a torture chamber}
- STRONG SAD: Yes, master. Can you make me a vampire now?
- STRONG MAD: BAT!
- {Strong Mad's hair flutters and flies off his head like a bat, and falls back on}
- At the end, click on Bubs:
- MARZIPAN: Corporate accounts payable, Marzipan speaking. Just a moment. Corporate accounts payable, Marzipan speaking. Just a moment.
- BUBS: PC Load Letter?
- COACH Z: PC Lourde Letter?
- {A printer labeled "PC Lourde Letter" falls on Homsar}
- At the end, click on the Poopsmith:
- HOMESTAR RUNNER: Hey, Poopsmith, I really like your evil Tron costume.
- STRONG BAD: Um, that— that is literally what he is. That was like, a real character in a movie.
- HOMESTAR RUNNER: You mean that doesn't count as one of my delightful misinterpretations?
- STRONG BAD: Nope, your description was dead-on. You blew it this time, Homestar.
- HOMESTAR RUNNER: Awww, end of line. Like, this is the end, of my line of dialogue. Thank you.
- At the end, click on Homestar:
- STRONG BAD: Alright, Homestar, let's get this over with. Just say the line.
- HOMESTAR RUNNER: Ahem... It's just a flesh wound {bleeds; although the way he says it sounds like he said "Fresh wound"}
- STRONG BAD: Did you say "Fresh wound"?
- HOMESTAR RUNNER: No, I said {bleeds; pronounces it the same} flesh wound.
- STRONG BAD: Yeah, that's not the right quote, it's just a flesh wound.
- HOMESTAR RUNNER: Yeah yeah, that's what I said, {bleeds} fresh wound.
- STRONG BAD: Uh, alright, let me hear you say "In the Flesh".
- HOMESTAR RUNNER: You mean like, {bleeds} medically naked?
- {Strong Mad's buzzer goes off. He opens his mouth in shock.}
- STRONG BAD: No, just say the expression! "In the flesh".
- HOMESTAR RUNNER: Okay, {bleeds} in person.
- At the end, click on Homsar:
- STRONG BAD: Oh, let me guess, Homsar: {Homsar voice} You're a poem from the '60s!
- HOMSAR: AaAaAa, the Yipiyuk bit my frontal lobe!
- {The Yipiyuk pops out of the window on his head and falls onto Marzipan's head. It growls and bites its way downwards}
- At the end, click on Marzipan:
- HOMESTAR RUNNER: Say, Ringo, I really cotton to your Sonny Bono from that one Scooby-Doo episode getting eaten by a pink and green cotton candy monster costume and that's no lie.
- MARZIPAN: We all live in a yellow bathyscaphe.
- At the end, click on Strong Bad:
- STRONG BAD: {imitating a WarioWare-esque fanfare} Pwa-pwa-pwao!
- {A WarioWare style screen appears with the Stave It Off Guy. On the bottom of the screen is a lit fuse, leading towards a bomb. The command "Shave it off!" is shown.}
- {Music plays as a razor shaves off his mustache. As the bomb explodes, the Stave It Off Guy turns to the camera, looking shocked.}
- STRONG BAD: {cackles wickedly}
- At the end, click on the moon to see a Beatles-inspired Storybook:
- {Homestar counts and numbers appear on the screen}
- THE HOMESTAR RUNNER: 2, 3, 4
- {A storybook appears, entitled "The Homestar Runners and the Yellow Bathyscaphe" with Marzipan dressed as John Lennon playing the guitar with two Homestars dressed as Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney behind her. As they reach the left of the screen, she rapidly grows long gray hair and a beard}
- SINGERS: Homestar, run, run. Homestar, run, run.
- At the end, click on the skull to see an Old-Timey scene:
- {The Homestar Runner and Fat Dudley are standing in an old-timey city area, with a sign that says "Arrow Smith" on it pointing to the right}
- THE HOMESTAR RUNNER: Waurk this way with me, Fat Duds!
- {He scats "Walk This Way" as they dance to it}
- {pan over to the Arrow Smith hammering on an arrow next to Old Timey Strong Bad}
- OLD TIMEY STRONG BAD: Yes, that's it, The Arrow Smith, cast me an ample quiver's worth. Indeed, my backstagèd boogie shall set trousers aflame!
- At the end, click on the jack-o'-lantern to see Homestar comment on costumes from Homestarloween Party:
- {on the original costume screen from Homestarloween Party; Homestar, Strong Sad, and Strong Bad talk with exaggerated versions of their old voices.}
- HOMESTAR RUNNER: Hey, Strong Sad! I really like your dad from ALF with gravy on his head costuuuuuuuu-uuu-uuu-uuume!
- STRONG SAD: Mr. Shumway, tear down this wall... between our house and the Ochmoneks' house... and don't eat the cat.
- STRONG BAD: Hey Homestar, more like smells like your spirit. Because you gonna die!
- HOMESTAR RUNNER: Good one, Strong Bad, our voices are so great!

Fun Facts
Explanations
- "DLC" (downloadable content) is additional content created for already released media (usually a video game), distributed online by the publisher.
- "Nerfing" in gaming terminology refers to a game element being weakened either through patching or in-game debuffs.
- "Death Clock" is a mispronunciation of Deathlok, a cyborg character from Marvel comics, possibly conflated with fictional band Dethklok.
- The URL is toons/ween22, breaking the norm of current URLs.
Trivia
- This is the earliest that a full-length Halloween toon has been released.
- Using the dimensions Coach Z has listed, a fridge that is 36 inches wide and 65 inches tall would have to be about 2 feet deep to hold 28 cubic feet of storage.
- Strong Bad calls Strong Sad a "walkin' Homestar Runner Wiki" at the beginning of the "Later That Night" segment.
- This toon has fifteen clickable Easter eggs, the most of any toon to date.
Remarks
- Strong Bad says, "Oh, brother!" as he takes over the story. In the original, it was an expression of annoyance with Marzipan, but this time, the person he takes over from is his brother.
- Because The Cheat and Strong Mad's replacement parts of the story don't introduce any living characters, the Visor Robot doesn't actually kill anyone with his vapor-gun.
- Because of recycled audio clips, Strong Bad still refers to the fridge as a Gremlin.
- Strong Bad does not have the human nose during the Later That Night segment.
- Contrary to the claims of Homestar Runner and Strong Bad, Coach Z had never dressed as a member of Run-DMC before.
- Coach Z dressed up as Kool Moe Dee in 2003 and as Theo Huxtable in 2005.
- While not a clickable Easter egg, Homsar's appearance in this toon is once again tied to something related to the Poopsmith; in this case appearing in the pool where the Poopsmith is bobbing for pumpkins.
- Several of the characters' updated costumes are directly analogous to their previous costumes:
- Coach Z is yet another rapper.
- Both of Strong Mad's costumes are, "like, medically naked."
- The King of Town is again a cereal mascot; Cap'n Crunch cereal is manufactured by Quaker Oats Company.
- The Cheat is a cartoon cat character: Garfield in the original and Riff-Raff from Heathcliff in the remake.
- The Poopsmith is a variation of Tron.
- Pom Pom is a food-related mascot.
- As Strong Sad would have said, the segment where the characters would discuss their costumes after the cartoon ended began with The House That Gave Sucky Treats, the second Halloween cartoon.
- Also as Strong Sad points out, Coach Z's costume in both this toon and Homestarloween Party have fingers, while he normally has mitten hands.
- At least three costumes are from media that debuted after Homestarloween Party: Dr. Crygor (2003), Guillermo (2019), and Rinzler (2010).
- Homestar calls Marzipan "Ringo" (a different member of the Beatles than she is dressed up as), and she responds by spoofing the lyrics of "Yellow Submarine", a song that featured Ringo Starr on lead vocals.
- In addition to the costume pack, this toon differs from Homestarloween Party in the following ways:
- The song that Homestar sings when walking past Coach Z is changed (see Real-World References).
- The scene where Marzipan tries to get everybody to stand boy-girl-boy-girl and ends up standing next to Strong Bad is cut.
- Homsar is added to the cartoon.
- Marzipan and Pom Pom's additions to the story are cut completely, despite the download bar calling it an expansion.
Goofs
- Strong Bad's yellow glove turns blue for one frame.
Inside References
- The Homestar Quiz, in its question asking what The Cheat's costume was in the original toon, gave Heathcliff as an option, alongside the correct answer of Garfield.
- The options for nerfing the King of Town are "Yes" and "Very Yes", the latter of which calls back to the error message in virus.
- Homestar's costume spouts, and Strong Bad makes a meta reference to, blood.
- Such a reference to blood was previously made in the DVD commentary for diorama.
- The music that plays during the upgraded Goblin dance is taken from Most in the Graveyard.
- During his segment of the story, Coach Z uses the phrase "you know, the kind..."
- The Cheat's segment in the story is bulging full of severed body parts.
- Strong Bad getting a human nose may be a reference to licensed, where it is one of the requirements for licensed unlicensed Strong Bad and The Cheat knock-offs.
- The song that plays in Strong Bad's Easter egg is a sped-up version of "Stave It Off 1, 2, 3", the song that the Stave It Off Guy sang in his debut in for kids.
- "The Homestar Runners and the Yellow Bathyscaphe" is a callback to "The Homestar Runner and the Bathyscaphe" from Homestar Runner Goes for the Gold.
- The song from the Storybook Easter egg is a Beatles-style cover of the theme song from Super NES and Theme Song Video.
- The King of Town's comment regarding Pom Pom's costume uses the "more like" construction, and mentions cheese.
- The YouTube autoplay preview references The Animated Adventures of Puppet Homestar.
- Homsar's association with the Heavy Lourde is referenced, as is his being a "song from the '60s" (a reference to the email interview). Strong Bad also imitates him when providing the aforementioned phrase.
- Strong Bad calls back to Stephen Pearcy from Ratt being in his torture chamber in Disk 4 of 12 - Vampire's Castle.
- The "downloading DLC" sound effect is the counterpoint to the "Everybody Everybody" song.
- "Backstagèd boogie" is an instance of -èd.
- The Homestarloween version of Homestar pronounces "costume" in a drawn-out manner with wavering pitch similar to how he pronounces certain phrases in very early toons, such as his pronunciation of "Strong Bad" in The Reddest Radish.
Real-World References
- The designs of the various notification boxes that pop up throughout the toon are modeled after those of Valve's digital distribution service Steam.
- Homestar's "Cheatcliff" song is based on the first lines of the opening theme of Heathcliff and the Catillac Cats.
- Homestar raps to the chorus of "It's Tricky" by Run-DMC to Coach Z.
- Referencing Run-DMC and Aerosmith's connection via "Walk This Way", "Arrow Smith" is a pun on the latter band's name. Old-Timey Strong Bad also paraphrases a line from "Sweet Emotion".
- The Old Timey Easter egg may be a reference to a certain scene in the 1974 Mel Brooks film Young Frankenstein, which reportedly inspired the aforementioned Aerosmith song.
- The "disco guy" from WarioWare is Jimmy T.
- Strong Bad's Easter egg resembles a WarioWare microgame where the bomb timer appears at the bottom of the screen. Strong Bad similarly laughs like Wario.
- Strong Bad's line during the Strong Sad Easter egg is an impression of Nandor, a vampire and Guillermo's master in the TV series What We Do in the Shadows.
- Strong Mad's line is an additional What We Do in the Shadows reference, since another vampire in the show, Laszlo, always calls out "Bat!" before transforming into a bat.
- Marzipan's line during the Bubs Easter egg is a reference to Nina from Office Space, who repeatedly says the same thing with her own name.
- "PC LOAD LETTER" is an additional Office Space reference, a printer error message that consistently frustrated office employee Michael Bolton.
- Twinkie The Kid, who Homestar identifies Pom Pom's costume as, is the official mascot of Twinkies, created by Hostess in 1971.
- The King of Town's line in the Pom Pom Easter egg is almost exactly "I Hanker For A Hunk O' Cheese", the title of the first PSA featuring Timer.
- "It's the right thing to do and a tasty way to do it" was one of the variants of Wilford Brimley's Quaker Oats sign-off slogans.
- Homestar's line during the King of Town Easter egg about "Wilford Brimley hatching from his cocoon" is possibly a reference to the 1985 film Cocoon, which Brimley stars in. This was previously referenced in buried.
- "Diabeetus" is Brimley's oft-memed pronunciation of "diabetes"; Brimley suffered from the disorder and spent decades raising awareness of diabetes.
- "The Yipiyuk" is a poem from Shel Silverstein's Where the Sidewalk Ends.
- Marzipan growing a large white beard during the Homestar Runners and the Yellow Bathyscaphe Easter egg is a reference to the "When I'm Sixty Four" sequence in the film Yellow Submarine.
- Homestar compares Marzipan’s costume to Sonny Bono in a Scooby-Doo episode with "a pink and green cotton candy monster".
- Said monster appeared in Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed.
- Sonny Bono appeared with his then-wife Cher in season 1 of The New Scooby-Doo Movies.
- "Mr. Shumway, tear down this wall" is a parody of a famous quote from a 1987 speech by then-US President Ronald Reagan, imploring Mikhail Gorbachev to tear down the Berlin Wall.
- "Mr. Shumway" is reference to Gordon Shumway, ALF's full name. The "dad from ALF" was named Mr. Tanner. The Ochmoneks were their nosy next-door neighbors.
- In the Homestarloween Party costumes Easter egg, Strong Bad taunts Homestar with a reference to "Smells Like Teen Spirit", Nirvana's signature song.
Fast Forward
- An actual DLC was released for the previous year's game, Halloween Hide & Seek, later that month.
