Mixer?

The one two mixer should be featured on the main page. After all it was a seperate file.

I disagree. The mixer is barely anything without the toon; they're also used in the same HTML file. — Lapper (talk) 20:56, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
He's correct about the separate file; the mixer is now located at "onetwomixer.html". At the same time, it should not be featured on the main page as it is orphaned except for the link in One Two, One Two.· · T2|Things 21:05, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Nitpicky...

I know this is my OCD talking, but there's a grammar error on the Montage snippet:

"...and then makes a montage featuring the Wagon Fulla Pancakes and The Cheat as unsuccessful door-to-door salesman."

"salesman" should read "salesmen." This is because the WFP and TC are plural, so salesmen should reflect that. I have no idea how to edit that main page, so please, could a sysop do it for me? Thank you.

CoveredinSuudzu 04:19, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

Fixed. Thanks a lot. =) If there's one thing worth speaking up about, it's good grammar. --DorianGray 04:22, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
Thank you so much! CoveredinSuudzu 04:23, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
That's not OCD. That's normal. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 01:23, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

The System Was Down, Yo

Was it just my computer, or was the wiki down for a couple of hours today? Homestar-Winner (talk) 00:52, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

It was down for a while for everyone. But it's okay now. Everything is fine, nothing is ruined. --DorianGray 01:01, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
Okely dokely do! But what caused the server to go down? Homestar-Winner (talk) 01:04, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
Suspect a script encountered an error and wrote an excessive amount of .tmp files to the /tmp directory and caused it to fill. — It's dot com 01:16, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
June 4/5, 2007, same thing again? --Mario2.PNG Super Martyo boing! 02:52, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
What are you talking about? Obviously the system is not down. — It's dot com 02:57, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
Well, it was only down like 10 minutes, maybe just on my compy. It had problems with the MySQL server or something. --Mario2.PNG Super Martyo boing! 03:04, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
I don't show any database errors reported by the system during that time. — It's dot com 03:15, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Podcast

Add a link to Podstar Runner to the Main Page? It would probably fit under "Features". — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 17:18, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

I see no harm in it. I'll add it post haste. — Lapper (talk) 17:25, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

NL?

Hey, I've been wondering..Does the newsletter that TBC mention in the legal page still exist? If so, I want it! -WeirdAl (talk · 23:37, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

Nope, it doesn't exist anymore. 76.5.105.107 23:45, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

june 7th update

i just noticed it's not on the main page

Right — we typically only list the weeklies (Quote of the Week, Weekly Fanstuff, and Sketchbook) for one week at a time. So, when the June 14 weeklies were added, the June 7 weeklies were removed. Trey56 20:57, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

DVD Commentary Transcript Project page?

Has one been created to coordinate the writing of transcripts? It'd be beneficial both to transcribers and to interested readers. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 22:26, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

I think that's a great idea — I'll try making a mock-up in the sandbox. Trey56 22:36, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
Okay, here's an idea of what it could look like, with more sections if there are other DVDs that have untranscribed toons. I borrowed the formatting from HRWiki:Article Cleanup. Trey56 22:57, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
I went ahead and made it a project page: HRWiki:DVD commentary transcripts. Trey56 01:31, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

Store Links on DVD/Media pages?

Would it be appropriate to link to the H*R Store in articles which cover purchase-only content? As is we link to the official Flash on other content available on the website. I'm thinking a direct link to the Store page where that item being discussed is available would be an asset to the article as well as a means to simplify a fan's quest to purchase the material. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 22:30, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

Yes, I agree. I've often looked for these, hoping they'd be right at the top of the article. — It's dot com 22:55, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

Saying Jump before jumping

Hi everypeople, I need your help creating a new running gag page. I noticed that in two toons a character mutter jump jumping. In alternate universe Strong Bad does before jumping to the portal and Old Timey Strong Bad before jumping to the root beer. In the paper Strong Bad mutter it before jumping the sinking island to grab The Paper. I'm sure there are at least several other emails like that but I can't seem to find them. Can someone please help? Elcool (talk)(contribs) 03:23, 26 June 2007 (UTC)

Actually, I think that's it to date. (In alternate universe Strong Bad also does it in the Strong Badman segment, however.) Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 04:21, 26 June 2007 (UTC)

"rv; TTATOT"

We all see this edit summary from time to time, but I think it isn't really a good idea to write it. Keeping in mind that the edit summary in a revert is partly to let the editor you reverted know why you reverted, using an initialism that isn't all that common is likely to be confusing, especially since most TTATOT edits come from anonnies and new users. Better, in my opinion, would be to say "rv; that could refer to lots of things" or something like that. Heimstern Läufer 19:38, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

I agree. I don't write it often (usually spelling it out), but the initials aren't helpful. Searching for it will lead to the glossary entry for T, but I doubt many of them who DO see it and become confused think to search it. --DorianGray 19:41, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
You are able to link TTATOT in your edit summary. —BazookaJoe 19:51, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
Better, but still not as informative for newbies as an edit summary with no jargon. Heimstern Läufer 19:53, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
I firmly disagree. One, this is jargon, but it's rather commonplace jargon which, once learned, is portable to many online fora, including other wikis. Two, the linked TTATOT leads to a full explanation of what it means, so anyone who is confused by the initialism can simply follow the link. Three, I'd surmise less than half the people whose edits have been reverted on the grounds of TTATOT actually saw the edit summary anyway. It's a concise means to convey the reason, it cannot lead to misunderstanding when a link is provided to the explanation, and I don't recall seeing any discussion on the wiki regarding confusion over the term. The only change I would recommend would be for TTATOT to no longer redirect to the Glossary, but to lead to a dedicated page where users can learn what makes a fact TTATOT and how they can avoid it. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 02:18, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
I still believe it is better to avoid the jargon in revert summaries completely (discussions are a different matter, mind you). But as long as it's made clear where to learn what it means, it won't make problems. Heimstern Läufer 01:38, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

Email Intros

Is it necessary for us to make a page like this (I forget what they're called):

Email Intros can refer to any of the following:
Willing to thank as many as possible for becoming Most Valuable Member User, Bad Bad Guy 04:03, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
A disambiguation page, you mean? --DorianGray 04:04, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, that's it! Do you think it's necessary to make an Email Intros one? Bad Bad Guy 04:19, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
Actually, that doesn't sound like a bad idea at all. It certainly cleans up the disambig at the top. Although, the top part isn't really all that big just yet... Hmm. Also, there may be the idea that Email Intros doesn't actually include "Part 1" in its name. (On the other hand, does Part 2 contain Part 2 in its name? I dun have the DVD yet, so...) --DorianGray 04:23, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

waitaminute....

if Jackie chapman had a baby then what about the kid from that summer cartoon...?

me? I've always thought that when the chapman brothers (and their wifes) get old, they'd have "homestar runner: the next generation!"
