[edit] Fun Facts
[edit] Trivia
- This is the debut of The Cheat's computer, Tangerine Dreams.
- This is the first mention of the food court.
- The YouTube description for this email is "Strong Bad makes fun of grammar and stuff."
[edit] Remarks
- "I she be" is possibly a typo of "I should be" or "I shall be".
- When first responding to the email, Strong Bad says, "All i gotta say..." The I is not capitalized.
- There is a space between each letter and three spaces between each word in "G E T I N L I N E S I S T E R ! ! !" when Strong Bad types it. There is also a space before every question mark and exclamation mark in the second paragraph.
- In the previous email, Strong Bad forwarded an email to Homestar Runner by simply typing "forward message".
- At the top of the IM window, it says "instant messenge". "Messenge" is not a word, though it may be a play on, or a misspelling of, the word "messenger".
- The IM conversation between The Cheat and gr8lookinggrrl contains several instances of Internet Slang.
- There is dispute on Strong Mad's height. This email says 6 feet, while the facts says he's 88 inches (7'4") tall. The secret Strong Mad sticker page indicates that he is 8'3" and 900 lbs.
- The Cheat's last two IM posts have a space between his username and what he had typed, though none of the other messages do.
[edit] Inside References
- In The House That Gave Sucky Treats, if The Cheat's costume is chosen as the viewer's favorite, the word "Cheatachu" is in the body of the email (which itself is a reference to the species Pikachu from Pokémon).
[edit] Real-World References
- The IM program is most likely AOL Instant Messenger (AIM). The sounds for sending and receiving a message in this email are the default ones for AIM, and the blue and red font colors used for the two names is an AIM default.
- Sbarro is a restaurant chain that serves Italian-style food. It can be found in many mall food courts.
- The song that Strong Bad sings at the start of this email is the theme to the popular '80s kids' TV show He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.
- The "same Strong Bad time, same Strong Bad channel" is a reference to the '60s Batman TV show, which ended "Tune in next week, same Bat-time, same Bat-channel."
