The "latest toon" message is visible at the top-right of Main Page 28.

The Main Page messages encourage visitors to "Go on and see what's new!" at homestarrunner.com. They are located at the top right corner of most Main Pages inside a large oval button, eyebrow text informs visitors that the site is "Updated every Someday".

These messages were essentially superseded by the index page messages during the post-Flash site update on December 31, 2020. While the links are still regularly updated, the messages no longer feature unique text or list any more than three specific elements. The button now cycles through "latest toon", "latest merch", and "play a game", in that order.

A teaser for Podstar Runner

From 2002 through 2009, messages were typically updated up early on Monday mornings; the accompanying eyebrow text used the format "Last updated MM-DD-YY". These message bubbles generally changed color (and occasionally wording) when rolled over or clicked.

This section lists all known messages featured on the Main Pages.

These generic messages usually appeared to let people know that a new toon or Strong Bad Email had just been released, or would be soon (although these would sometimes be intentionally misleading). Other types of updates would be highlighted with these repeating messages as well.
